Diamond Tavern - Hilton Baltimore

Went here for lunch during a conference. Service was prompt and we were seated quickly. The food was good. I had a side salad and the pulled pork sandwich, which was delicious!
Went for breakfast 10:30 reservation. Server said kitchen was backed up and suggested we order the buffet instead from the menu. We did this but prefer ordering from the menu.
The line was long to order eggs omelettes pancakes. One person was preparing this. On game days they need to prepare for larger crowds.
Unfortunately, I disliked the experience. The crab cakes part of the main menu were salty and the entire dish was poor. I had to ask for a piece of bread, as a side dish... I realize that the restaurant is literally having a flurry of customers due to being connected to the Hilton Inner Harbor Baltimore and the Convention Center. Hence, tons of tourists, professionals on conventions, and almost no locals.
The food however, was much worse than I anticipated, in particular in direct relationship with the pay. I will NEVER recommend it to any one. Jimmy Jones sandwiches next door are better. Do not do it!
Dinner before Sunday’s Ravens game
From last experience knew to arrive early with a reservation
Sat down at 5:15 for 5:15 reservation party of 2
Ordered once two beers, crab cake sandwich and fish/chips
Again knew you only get 1 good interaction with server
Ask for check when meal arrives
Lay cars and check on table as you enjoy meal
Server picks up and runs card just when we finished
Got to play the timing well or you will sit forever
Service very good, food very bad,the crab cake sucked! drinks weak
I took my family to Diamond tavern before an orioles game a couple of years ago. When a friend and I planned to go to a ravens game, I thought it would be the perfect place to go. They have a special game day menu...I was excited to see Crab MAC n cheese on it. It is one of my favorite dishes. I was very disappointment by it. Very little crab, lots of tomatoes. My friends salad look yummy. Not sure If I will be returning there in the future.
Wanted a place to eat before the Billy Joel concert so we made a reservation WHICH THEY ACCEPTED. When we arrived the place was packed, and they had also set up dining outside. We were seated, and after quickly ordering and waiting an hour and fifteen minutes, we were told our food would be ready in another twenty minutes. So we cancelled everything and left. I understand the concert made for extra guests but they should have also had extra kitchen and wait staff - ESPECIALLY SFTER OPENING AN OUTDOOR DINING VENUE!!! If they couldn’t handle the extra people, they shouldn’t have done it. VERY POOR MANAGEMENT.
So we did not actually eat here because the restaurant called to cancel the reservation less than 48 hours before we were due to dine. We had booked this reservation in January knowing that the area would be crowded on this date. When the Diamond Tavern cancelled last minute, no other reservations were available in the area and we were left eating fast food. This experience was very unprofessional on the part of Diamond Tavern and we will not plan to eat there in the future since they were so inconsiderate.
Made reservation for 10, 6-months in advance. Tavern called to confirm 2 days before, then that evening the staff called to cancel all reservations. Took multiple phone calls to talk to a manager, and once I spoke to manager, they said they were not cancelling reservations it was a mistake! Then, we got to the restaurant, 45 minutes to get 1 drink, another 45 minutes no food and no second drink, we told server we had to leave. They did comp the bill but what a cluster this place is. This is the second time we've been there leaving without food, we won't be back. As a Diamond Hilton member this is very disheartening.
Our meal was served quickly and was excellent. We asked for a few extras which came promptly. Will definitely return.
Six of us had a 2PM reservation on the 4th of July. Once we were seated we were advised that there was no bartender at that time. We were disappointed but we ordered beers, wine and ice tea. One of the party ordered a beer that was on beer list but waitress came back and said they were out. Another in the party ordered a wine they had but they returned and said they did not have that wine. She ordered the same wine that was served to another of our party. I had to ask three times where was her wine! Finally was told that they did not have that wine any longer. She ordered a beer but I had to ask where it was. I had been there for lunch and recommended it for our usual 4th lunch. This was embarrassing for me. Our initial waitress was very apologetic but that was not really enough to make up for such shoddy service. This restaurant is in a nationally owned hotel.
Food was good, perfect for a business lunch. Loved the salad with quinoa and salmon.
Good place for a business meal. Good food and service. Music a bit loud for easy conversation but rest was empty so we were ok. In a crowd it will be harder to hear .
Went with colleague to meet for business meeting over lunch. Food was very good but small portion for the lunch combo, just expecting a larger portion. Service was okay. We both orderd just soup and salad and it took over 30 minutes.
The restaurant was convenient since I was staying in the hotel. The menu was limited because there was an Orioles game. The restaurant is across the street from Camden Yards. Other restaurants would have been busy because of the baseball game.
Good value and great location for breakfast in the inner harbor area.
Hotel restaurant with sports bar. We did expect a delay as a large convention was going on as well. The menu was average with local favorites but nothing unique. Service was friendly but choppy and it seems they were unprepared for what was surely a planned event. Lack of staff led to unplanned delays. Food was prepared well and delivered as expected.
It took almost an hour to receive our food. And when we did it was cold.
Restaurant was very busy and appeared to be short staffed causing delay in receiving food. Once it arrived, was pretty good.
Very good quality food with friendly service. Noise level a bit loud but still okay
We returned our drinks. Little if any vodka in them. Food was obviously frozen and heated. Very disappointed. 140.00, including a bottle of wine, for mall food.
We waited nearly an hour for our food. I ordered soup and half a sandwich. The soup was rather lukewarm. While it was convenient, I'm sure there were other options that would have been much quicker.
We attended during the CMS meeting. The service was great, but the menu had been cut to the level of bad fast food (arbys or sonic), but the prices were high. Best to avoid when the hotel is busy.
Had reservations and were seated right away. We immediately ordered drinks (soda & a cocktail)....30 mins later had no water or drinks. Waiter finally came by and said...oh what did you order again? We also ordered appetizers which were forgotten after asking about those 35 mins after that. All told it took 2.75 hours to get drinks wings/pretzel apps and 2 burgers. Service was non existent.
The food was really bad and the service was very slow in spite of a very light crowd - I will not go back
Food was good, but not special. This was a convenient location to the convention center. Very loud ambiance - we were trying to have a conversation and it wasn't easy.
Reserved time for breakfast before football game. Was told only the buffet would be available because there were more people dining than expected. Waited until 11:00 for lunch service and again could not order from the menu. A limited buffet would be available. Left to dine elsewhere.
Primarily sandwiches, but a nice variety, with a full bar. Has sports TV for fans
This is our third year in a row eating lunch at Diamond Tavern before an annual trip to watch a baseball game. Nice restaurant with great food and friendly, attentive staff. Always a pleasant experience for us at this convenient location just a few steps away from the ballpark.
Had dinner prior to an Orioles game. It took 35 minutes after ordering a fried oyster po boy to arrive. The waiter kept coming over saying the sandwich would be out in a couple minutes. Only after asking to see the manager did the sandwich arrive. WE never saw the manager. However, the managers offered a 50% discount.
We decided to meet some out of town guest before teh O's game and looked on line and loved the menu. The only dissappointment was that they only offer a limited menu on game days we really wish we would have none that going in. Our whole party was dissappointment and would recommend you post that on your website. Otherwise we really enjoy our time there, the food we had was great and rigth accross the street from the ball park.
The fish and chips were horrible. They were so over battered that the fish inside did not cook fully. I had to send the meal back.
I would have given 5 stars but I checked the menu before going and decided what I would like. To my surprise it was different at the restaurant and according to the waiter has been for months, maybe a year. Had been looking forward to the soup and was very disappointed no longer on the menu. They need to update menu on line.
The only reason I downgraded the service was because my salad arrived at the same time as my entrée. I don't dine out very often, so maybe that's the new standard, but I don't like it.
My Husband and I visited the Restaurant for his Birthday before the O's Game. Derrell was our server, he was friendly and attentive. We got there around 5:40 and was out in time for our 7:05 game which was right across the street. Excellent service, good food, reasonable prices. We will be back!
TERRIBLE. Waited an hour for a salad and it never came out. Kitchen so screwed up that they had a salad waiting but nobody made the chicken for it. Bartender was cool and took care of a round of drinks
Ok would not go back
