Dimitris Olive & Vine
Used to be a regular visitor to Dimitri's in Manchester so was excited to see how this local version compared.
Staff were super friendly and attentive, especially with our kids.
Food was good. Nothing wowed us.
Most was reasonably priced with a few exceptions, the biggest being 9.50 for a prawn kebab... I had high hopes, but It consisted of 4 small prawns on a skewer with no flavour or seasoning at all, a salad and a bit of dressing. I really expected much more...
When we paid in cash the waiter didn't bother to bring the change back. We intended to tip and would have actually tipped more, but assuming they were to keep the change put us off.
This used to be one of our favourite restaurants but there have been too many changes over the last few visits, either change of menu, change of offer, change of staff. One dish was inedible but fair enough it was knocked off the bill.
Very attentive and helpful staff.
Food of good quality but a little on cold side for me.
Would recommend tapas dishes.
We visited Dimitris Olive & Vine on Saturday evening in a party of 4 that included our toddler. When we arrived, a high chair was already ready and waiting at the table, and the staff immediately couldn't do enough for us to help with getting him settled, bringing over crayons etc. The food was absolutely lovely, we had a number of things from the meze menu and a mixed grill, everything was really tasty. The menu isn't quite as varied as Dimitri's in the City Centre, but there's still something for everyone. The service remained incredible throughout, staff were so helpful, attentive and friendly. When the bill came it didn't seem right for the amount we'd eaten, but it turns out it's just really good value for money. I can't recommend them enough.
We have previously really enjoyed dining here. However, there seems to have been a recent change in menu that has affected the quality and taste. It is no longer our favourite restaurant. The change in menu means that our favourite dishes have gone and the replacements are not up to scratch. The sangria also wasn't as good as usual.
The staff were attentive however we got offered several dishes that we hadn't ordered and failed to receive two that we had ordered until we prompted the staff.
Overall, disappointed and a little sad.
A good local option in Didsbury. It took a while to get served once we sat down and we were still waiting for our drinks when the starters arrived 30 minutes after we got there. They cam almost immediately afterwards, and that was our only complaint. The food was good and the service after that initial delay was good too. There's a big mixture of different types of food, and not all of it goes well together, but we enjoyed ours.
Had a lovely time and food was delicious. Staff were friendly and couldn't help enough. I was expecting bigger bill but was pleasantly surprised. Deffo recommend and will be going again. SOON
Lovely staff - food very good. Couple of delays with the drinks order, but nothing too bad.
Great value for money - and extensive menu that catered for my vegetarian partner.
Fabulous food, great menu selection, service is a little slow so allow plenty of time for your visit. Comfy and intimate vibe. Will be returning.
Fab food, very fresh, authentic and ample portion sizes. Staff all lovely and helpful. Not too expensive
We stayed in a local hotel, upon arrival at the restaurant, the host was amazing, very friendly and this was the theme of the night.
Excellent food and service - I would highly recomend
The service was terrible and in between the starter and main we were waiting for at least 45 mins and no one seemed to care but the manager sorted it out eventually !
Booked a table and was asked if it was our frist visit to which it was,we were seated before the till in the door way so never got to see the restaurant . We did enjoy the meal the taste was fantastic and we will be revisiting in the near future . Parking is near by make sure you have two pound coins.
We were given a table near the window on request. The staff were very friendly. The service was good. We had the Sunday roast The meat was plentiful, the sauce tender and tasty. Excellent value.
It had all the ingredients to be a nice evening dining venue. Nice atmosphere, music not intrusive and attentive waiting staff. Regrettably the food was mediocre. Large tapas dishes were ok nothing speciak so good value however we ordered one lamb and one chicken kebab along with selection of tapas. The chicken was not hot and the lamb over cooked and not edible.
The waiter was very apologetic offering dessert but we didn’t want anymore food.
Great food and atmosphere . The staff make you feel welcome and the service it great .
We had our wedding anniversary meal at Dimitris on Saturday - the service was impeccable. Extremely friendly and attentive. The food was delicious as were the cocktails. We have already recommended this resteraunt to our friends and will definitely be coming back in the near future. We love Greece and the food was delicious and reminded us of our many holidays on the Greeks islands and the wonderful food there.
Amazing food and drinks and really friendly and welcoming waiting staff.
Fab little find. I had to drop my son off at Manchester Airport so decided we would get a bite to eat on way home. I googled restaurants and as my partner just loves Mezze and tapas style food I decided on the Olive and Vine. It looked cute from outside on the website and menu looked fab.
I was not disappointed our food was fabulous and the staff were helpful, friendly and very welcoming.
The restaurant was typically Greek inside and cosy. A great ambience. There are a few outside tables for Al fresco dining as well.
There is absolutely no complaint here apart from needing a lick of paint which you can overlook as everything else was just perfect
I would highly recommend for anyone who likes this style of food
Great service, unfortunately the Wasps wouldn't leave us to enjoy our lunch, which is not the restaurant's fault. Lovely authentic Greek cuisine, a bit more costly than I'd hoped for considering the small portion sizes. Great spot and tasty food.
Love this restaurant the food is always tasty and fresh and the service is always excellent. We where seated inside but asked if we could go outside and as soon as the table was available we were moved.
Excellent service with fabulous food.
The welcome and service was really first class and the quality of food was excellent. There was an air of authenticity about the place that made it feel that you were away from it all. would recommend and will visit again when next in Manchester.
Delicious food and wine plus well priced. Will be going back again!
This is a neighborhood restaurant offering delicious Greek and Med food. The ambience is friendly and funky, and the food was delicious and inexpensive. I'd definitely go again.
Great food great atmosphere.made to feel very welcome.a great find we will be returning and bringing others!
The whole experience was excellent. Highly recommend
We had a wonderful lunch with luscious food & splendid service . Would definitely recommend to all !
I've been here many times but this time was disappointing. The food was mediocre. We had mixed starters which was the best part of the meal. The rest of it, we hardly touched: feta parcels, baba ganouche, prawns (hard to find), rice, patatas bravas & vege rice. It was all pretty bland or covered in sauce. Not the usual standard I've come to expect. We sent most of it back hardly touched.
Very friendly and welcoming staff, however the food was average. I had to send my meatballs back as they were dry with a tiny bit of tomato sauce. I found the dishes bland and boring. It was a shame as the staff were great and the restarant had a nice vibe.
Great meal with great service would highly recommend.
Lovely meal with friends. Great food and menu x
Took my ladies on Valentine's night,it was very busy, but very welcoming.Food was great, with very prompt service and attentive checks once served.Would certainly go again, great evening.
Excellent restaurant, great food, very nice staff and a nice environment. Perfect family meal!!
Lovely, lovely people working there. Great food. Great value. My only complaint, the carpet could really do with a good clean or being replaced. But the important stuff, food and service, were excellent. Will go again.
Brilliant and fun, fab service and food as always
Staff were extremely friendly. Food was great. I would definitely come here again with more friends
Food lovely as always hiwever the first words I heard when I was arrived was ‘your table booked for 8:30’. I said no, we booked for 7pm. He replied, no it is rebooked for 8:30 !! How rude...as soon as I arrive I was told what time I had to be done for. Not impressed as I have recommended that restaurant to many in the past. And it was NYE. They should stipulate on website that you have a time limit on which to eat your food.
Great recommendations from the staff. Enjoyed the food and drink.
We really enjoyed this place. The food is really, really good at a good value. Getting the food took some time but worth the wait. Seems some focus on the food delivery process would yield good results. Our server, Sergio, was awesome.
Went for Sunday roast and wasn’t a good experience - the chicken was good, but that’s where the positives ended. Vegetables were cool, gravy was cold, and the Yorkshire pudding was near enough still frozen.
Won’t be going again for Sunday lunch (though may try the tapas in the evening).
