Superb service and food. Everything was amazing
Service was not great for a 2 Michelin Star restaurant...had to keep topping up our own water the whole meal and the staff were just not as attentive as they should’ve been. Food was delicious but again for a 2 Michelin Star I would’ve expected something with more WOW factor.
Excellent food and service plus we chose amazing wine.
A true delight to dine in a Michelin starred restaurant that manages to get all the essentials right simultaneously.
Atmosphere, unpretentious but impeccable service and incredible food.
The only problem was having to choose from the fabulously, innovative selection that didn’t rely on the ubiquitous ‘taster menu’.
With all four in our party having different dishes for all courses, wine selection could have been a problem but the twelve different glasses recommended by the sommelier proved to be perfect (except one final fortified wine - sorry😝).
Overall was fine, food was great but it is definitely not a romantic place and ambiance . Very noisy for a 2 starred Michelin restaurant
Fairly noisy for a restaurant of this rating!!
The Service team is absolutely outstanding!
Way too noisy for such restaurant - we went for our wedding anniversary and I would hardly hear my wife across the table!
Mindblowing originality, great execution, incredible taste.
The Mandarin Hotel is a beautiful Hotel and perfect location for this restaurant. The smells that greet you when you enter are just Devine.
The staff are so friendly and make you feel very welcome. There’s no sense of being rushed, which we liked. It was a little quiet when we arrived which made us feel a bit uncomfortable as there was no atmosphere, which improved as more people arrived.
Each course was explained and you felt you could ask as many questions as you liked and they would only be too happy to help. The food was outstanding and I no fault with any of courses. I had the meat fruit, which was yummy and they gave me extra toast which always a bonus. I then had the lamb and cucumber which was just perfect. The goats cheese cake is something else, accompanied by the best tasting figs I’ve ever had. Pure delight
Thank you for a lovely meal
first, I want to report that the dishes served by the friendly and helpful staff were very tasty but no more than that. as part of a romantic weekend with my wife, I expected a lot more. impossible to get snacks with the aperitif. no extensive menu but only 3 courses possible. no adapted wine possible (you can't drink 3 bottles with 2). this is not what people expect from a 2 star michelin restaurant. Even more, I can immediately deliver the Michelin inspectors 10 addresses in Belgium that have no or 1 star and that in comparison should immediately have 3 stars.
Excellent service and wine pairing was very good.
Overall, this experience was slightly dissapointing, but only based on direct comparison to other Michelin two star restaurants. The ambiance is a nice change of place to most restaurants of this tier, as it's more laid back and welcoming, with a good level of ambient noise and a fairly open view into the kitchen area (the dress code is also less formal). The location in the Mandarin Oriental is unbeatable and our servers were all incredible - super friendly and very attentive, keeping our bread plates and our drinks full at all times. The food itself was the only slight downfall (if you can call it that) here, as the mains are simply not up to par with most restaurants at this level. We had the lamb, the pork and the pigeon...and all three were quite nice, but not at all memorable in any way. The meat fruit, which we had as a starter, was the highlight -- incredibly innovative with a wonderful depth of flavor. Likewise, the desserts were exceptional, and the tipsy cake is a certainly a must for anyone visiting.
Regularly eat at similar establishments. Whilst the food is very good, I felt the restaurant was far to noisy and canteen like and the service was not ideal. We had to keep asking for things. Compared with similar establishments I’ve eaten at, it’s not the same standard.
Didn't quite meet our expectation given the Michelin stars. Very good food, excellent service, but no exciting innovations or surprises. No tasting menu. Doesn't deserve two stars, in our view.
Great, my family is very happy.
Dinner was exceptionally enjoyable. The food was amazing and the service equally impressive.
Excellent food, presentation and service. Very good portion sizes, certainly couldn’t eat anymore after our most delicious meal. Will go back and definitely recommend it.
Overall I left with a feeling of disappointmemt. We were treated to dinner by my parents for our 10th wedding anniversary. The highlight of the meal was the service which was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff were very welcoming and their attention to detail was right on the money. Sadly the meal didn't live up to the same standards. They appear to have a real problem getting the food out of the kitchen hot. The lobster starter was delicious but both my parents main courses of fish were cold (not intentionally). My father sent his back and they did replace it but not the standard you'd expect. My pork main was very average in taste and a whisker away from being overdone, and also only just warm. If the food had been knock out this would have been value for money, but as it was I left feeling disappointed that my parents treat hadn't lived up to expectations.
We did the FT menu, which was very good value. Only wanted wines by the glass on top of this and the sommelier was excellent, with a good range of suggestions to choose from. Meat fruit and tipsy cake were as amazing as described to us by friends beforehand. We enjoyed the duck and hake mains, although they weren't the star of the show. Lovely table overlooking the park appreciated.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Hestons. Service was fantastic. The food was incredible.
The food was so disappointing!
For myself as a vegetarian and the non veg who attended with me!
Would never go back waste if money.
Amazing food and service. Loved meat fruit. Will be returning!
It was simply superb! We’ll definately be coming back!
We celebrated our 35th anniversary here, sharing a wine paired meal, and it absolutely rocked. Great ambiance, service, food, and memories. We’ll be back!
Fantastic. Thank you.
Amazing ambience and brilliant food. Made my wife’s birthday special. The ice-cream maker made my daughters day. All in all an amazing experience
Love coming back to this fabulous place. Amazing food, very attentative service and great ambience.
Highly recommended! Brilliant service and had an amazing meal for my wife’s birthday
It was an experience we never forget. All employees was very nice and presented the food and concept with such engagement and understanding, and they really took their time to explain and offer to make every dish a dish to share. We got a grand tour around the kitchen just before we left.
Our go to place when in London. Always a pleasure.
Great experience - took the set lanson deal they were running. The meatfruit is a must try, as is the pineapple bread pudding - to die for! Excellent service and lovely ambience facing the park.
Go for a pre-drink & the tasting menu for good value Michelin standard, but don’t expect full on fine dining experience of people in their finery & white glove, 9 course craziness.
Pre-dinner cocktails we’re both unusual but fabulous, thoroughly recommend not being put off & giving one a try.
Definitely go for the set menu - we didn’t & regretted it as everything we ordered from it was outstanding. Best duck dish I’ve ever tasted & the tipsy cake is just delicious.
Bread was hard, cold & butter tasted weirdly like the water you’ve just cooked a load of veg in.
I should caveat all of this with the fact we’re annoyingly wannabe foodies who have more money than sense when it comes to places we’ve eaten so our standards are a bit out.
Waitress was so giggle & lovely, but sommelier left us wanting to the point we were offered another drink by someone else to go with out dessert but we didn’t know what to say as we didn’t know how much wine we had left.
For me good standard place if you want a treat of some good grub and accessible high quality culinary experiences, but if you’re used to going to Michelin tasting menu experiences this one lacks anything special.
Truly one of the best meals my wife and I have ever eaten. When we arrived we sat at the bar with a cocktail recommended my the very knowledgable member of staff. After 20 minutes of people watching we were taken to our table right in front of the kitchen and the incredible pineapple spit! The waiter then helped us choose from the menu as everything looked so tempting and we just marvelled at the quality of the food. We have been lucky enough to eat at Michelin stared restaurants all over the world and the meal we had on Saturday was as good as anything we have ever eaten. All the staff were extremely knowledgable about the menu, recipe methods and history of the dishes. Simply stunning!
Had the Laurent Perrier summer menu - the meat fruit was exquisite, followed by halibut with green sauce and iberico pork chop and ended with the fabulous tipsy cake. The service was impeccable and highly recommended.
I loved my dinner, I was slightly sadden by the fact that there was no real dress code. When you pay a lot for a meal you kind of expect that jeans and t-shirts are not quite the etiquette.
Still the food was good, the staff very attentive and it was a lovely dinning experience. X
Dinner was stuffy, oily, too rich. The famous Mandarine of chicken parfait was way too rich, served on an oily toast requiring you to wipe your fingers each time. Dessert was too sweet and oily.
