Cutting edge vegetables with added flavor and no politics in this sleek and stylish restaurant showcasing colorful, pop-tastic dishes from award-winning chef, Amanda Cohen. A full bar, counter seating, a wine list curated by wine director, Ben Eyring, and vegetables in all their earth-shattering, gob-smacking glory. Diners coming for dinner will have a choice of The Vegetable Patch ($65, tip included) featuring five courses of Dirt Candy’s greatest hits, or they can take a trip to The Vegetable Garden ($99, tip included) which is at least nine courses and changes according to the season, what we’re experimenting with, and what our foragers and farmers bring to our door. Dirt Candy offers an a la carte menu at the bar only.

The new and improved Dirt Candy location on the Lower East Side is bigger and shinier. And it’s still really, really good.

This is the best restaurant to eat vegan food. It’s become my favorite restaurant. The staff is incredible. The food is super creative and forward thinking. I love the open kitchen and even their bathrooms are cool! I hope to work in their kitchen someday soon!

My husband and I had a great time at Dirt Candy celebrating my birthday. We both did the 10 course "garden patch" with the wine pairing - the vegetarian option. Overall the food was fantastic, as was the service. The wine pairings were well done, although I thought the price was a bit steep. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, and there was no rushing you out - in fact they encouraged you to sit back and relax. If I could change one thing it would be the chairs - when you are sitting for ~ 2 hours they are not the most comfortable. We can't wait to go back - definitely a special occasion spot. Make sure you go hungry!

Dirt candy is one of my favorite restaurants in the city! I always have an amazing meal and leave very happy. They are very accommodating if you do not want gluten or dairy. The best!!

The food was pretty good, but it really wasn’t worth the hefty Price tag in my opinion. I’m a big guy and I was left pretty full after the regular size dinner. The service was very, very good. The highlight of this meal was the Korean Fried Broccoli.

Bit of a disappointment. The food is caringly prepared but relies heavily on smoke and hot peppers to deliver flavor. Excellent service until the end when we were summarily delivered our check with no request as to whether we would even like coffee (perhaps that should have been for the wait staff to ask but no one did). Felt like we were in the way somehow even though we had finished our 5 courses in barely over an hour.

Really good veggie/vegan upscale restaurant experience. I wanted a little more food and felt hungry after although I am a vegetarian - so maybe just a little too small of food.

This was my second time at Dirt Candy. The first time I had the 9 course tasting menu with wine pairings
Absolutely perfect experience from service to food. Second time I came for brunch. Finally had the Brussel Sprout Tacos which were fantastic. Only exception were my two poached eggs which ended up being hardboiled. This was the only miss step and can sometimes happen. I spoke to our server who immediately returned with the perfect poach. Oozing, warm, yokes which I immediately smothered all over my Brussel Sprouts. Brunch, towards the end of the day is a tad quieter, which I personally like. Cocktails and wine recommendations were spot on. I can honestly say that I am so appreciative to Chef Amanda Cohen for creating dishes way outside of the box with regard to Vegetarian cuisine. Lastly, I also am so thankful that I can support a woman owned business in an industry so dominated by men.

The food is generally inventive, but the kitchen tries too hard to do too many things leaving each course/dish with too many elements which sometimes have nothing to do with anything else in a course. Taking great vegetables and making them taste great doesn't require trying to turn a vegetable into a faux meat dish. Fried asparagus standing in green goddess dressing - what's the big deal? Brussels sprouts tacos - again, no big deal - tasted like Brussels sprouts in some store bought taco seasoning with a bunch of condiments that could have been assembled from any grocery store, wrapped in pieces of lettuce that were too small. Desserts were excellent.

I have lost track of the number of friends to whom I have recommended Dirt Candy. Get over the vegetarian thing, you won't even notice it. All you will know is that the flavors and the food are fantastic and you wish you could find some room in your stomach so that you could put more into it.

Always delicious, creative, and a wonderful experience. Carrot sliders and the Korean Broccoli are highlights, as were the (new to me) mushroom dish. If there were one criticism of the food, it's the taco course, which after such amazing and creative other dishes, seems a bit blah. Still, we're diehard fans, and will be back again soon!

I went her with my husband & 2 teenage sons. Being the only vegetarian in the family, they were too excited. All 4 of us loved it! We did the smaller tasting menu with the wine pairing. It was deliciously creative and such a treat for me to be able to try everything on the table. Wonderful experience.

we had a bit of a rough start. we booked through open table and once arriving at dirt candy were told that our reservation could not be found. eventhough we received emails and texts reminding us of our reservation and asking more than once to confirm. the staff at dirt candy was a bit reluctant to accommodate us and it was only after threatening to leave that we were finally seated. once seated and we calmed down, the evening progressed pleasantly. the experience was interesting but did not match expectations. some dishes were very, very interesting. others not meeting the presentation. overall everything was over salted, it seemed to us. however, the wines were very, very interesting and educational. at the end of the evening the hostess came over and chatted with us and we had pleasant conversation. overall a very nice evening, but i doubt we would return.

Must have experience in New York. The food was amazing the service exceeded my expectations.I wish every restaurant offered service like this. The cactus Collins is a must try is you are ordering alcohol.

Absolutely one of the best dining experiences in NYC. The vegetables are heavenly, obviously prepared with love and devotion, and the people are soooo lovely. Can't wait to go back!

We came in for brunch, honestly I didn’t know there was a difference from dinner. The value was amazing 2 of us got the brunch special (1 pastry, one breakfast or lunch entree, one alcoholic beverage, one French press of coffee or tea) for $32. Sadly the fried options and tacos went part of this so we ordered the broccoli separately. The broccoli was AMAZING. Nothing short from all of the fantastic reviews it has received. We also were here for the first day of the Kale waffle. This was art on a plate. So beautifully presented and was a great take on a savory waffle. The servers were all knowledgeable and attentive
