One of the best restaurants in D.C. Always great quality, ambiance and service! Consistently outstanding!
Dining floor is crowded and chairs are uncomfortable. Everything else is excellent at Doi Moi.
Went during restauraunt week and had a phenomenal meal. The variety of flavors and textures from different east asian countries was quite impressive, and everything was cooked perfectly. The ribs fell off the bones and our lightly fried snapper was perfectly delicate, not the easiest things to pull off. It was certainly popping when we went there and was a bit loud, but we were able to have conversation just fine and enjoy the whole meal!
Excellent as always! Nice place to meet up after work with friends or colleagues.
We had a delicious three-course dinner and cocktails at Doi Moi as part of Restaurant Week promotion.
Most of our dishes were amazing. We went for Restaurant Week so it was a good deal as well. Our server was awesome.
Excellent food! Chic ambiance. I'm always pleased with my experience at Doi Moi.
Great place for vegans!
I knew that the food was going to be delicious because when walking to our table the aroma was absolutely amazing! You could smell every herb and spice used! DELECTABLE!
This used to be one of our favorite places ... fairly consistent authentic Vietnamese dinner in a nice setting. The only thing any of us liked was the scallops appetizer. The ‘garbanzo bean tofu’ in the vegan ‘bun’ appetizer was sour and ruined the bun. We received our entrees 25 minutes apart ... with the worst explanation you can give to a vegetarian: we only have one big wok for all the food prep. Which means that vegan / vegetarian food is cooked in the same pan as meats/etc. ... this requires a leap of faith that the cook surface is cleaned to perfection between all dishes cooked. Maybe it is - hard to believe. I’d like to see some kind of disclosure if they’re claiming something is vegan when it’s just a pan being wiped after preparing meats, etc. In any case, my noodles dish was basically just nicely spiced oily noodles, the squash dish was not available albeit still on the menu, and the curry was basically a curry soup with no/skimpy vegetables mentioned in the menu description. Not sure how what got served as plated - the dishes didn’t even present well. I understand that Doi Moi is in transition but this was a disappointing experience to say the least.
Delicious food, very nice waitress, very nice decor. A bit noisy for our taste.
Food was excellent, great value, fun place to go and enjoy a meal in a cool location.
Every dish we ordered is great, which has never happened before in all other restaurants
Love this place. Flavorful food. Everything is good. Great service.
Fragrant Asian flavors in interesting dishes. Our only complaint is that the food Came barreling out almost immediately after we ordered, all at once, even the starters! the waiter had stressed that the dishes were family style which is great but we would have like some time to savor one or two at a time.
Best vegan Asian food options in DC! The service was excellent as was the ambiance.
Service was AMAZING! Food was AMAZING!! Spot on for ambiance and decor. Really loved our entire experience.!!
Doi Moi's menu changes frequently, and always has interesting dishes. There were three of us, and we split an app, a salad, a noodle dish, and a curry, and had way more food than we could eat. The drinks are good as well. We love to bring out-of-town guests here, and to go there on our own. Would definitely recommend!
We love going to doi moi for special occasion as but also for a mid week meal.
We have tried most in the menu and haven’t been disappointed.
One of the best restaurants in DC. Highly recommended.
Host was very rude that ruin the mood, and at 8pm out of salad that’s not good, curry was very sweet never had Asian food like this and not happy so not my fav place. I gave second chance to this place and still not good
Great staff, even better food!
The beef jerky is incredible ...almost as incredible as our service. Diedre made us laugh, made fantastic recommendations, and then gave us undivided attention
Thank you so much for this feedback. We never tire of hearing excellent things about our staff - and our food! We look forward to having you back soon!
Wonderful restaurant. Fun atmosphere. Excellent service. And the food is really yummy. We had the Thai marinated beef jerky which was melt in your mouth delicious, Malaysian steamed buns, delish, Indonesian crispy Brussels sprouts, fab, and the Massaman Thai curry. Save room for dessert. The key lime pie is to die for.
Second time I’ve been here and both times food was excellent. Will be back.
The fried snapper was great. Our other times were fine but a little lacking in flavor. We had 2 types of Buns, the ratatouille curry and the broccoli. Ambience felt a little cafeteria-like which I’m sure is not the look or feel they were going for.
I love that there is something on the menu for any dietary restrictions. I always look forward to coming to Doi Moi to try something new, different and to die for! The ambiance is lively and the beautiful design accompanied with the large windows and view of 14th street, really give guests a treat.
Can't wait to come back again!
Cute restaurant with nice vibe. Foo is good - not great. Some of the fried items tasted of old oil. The waiter was excellent but overall service uneven. Drinks from the bar came in wrong glasses because they had “run out” of the proper barware, which was odd for a place that promotes craft cocktails. Even more odd was that it was early in the evening and not crowded. My martini came in a clunky crystal-cut wine goblet usually used for bar wine at a bad bar. And, they have a strange way of ringing up drinks: a Martini is $20 and charged as follows: a first charge of $16 for one shot of “vodka” and then a second charge of $4 for the “martini,” wc I guess is for the drop of vermouth and the twist (?) - the waiter tried to explain it was a common industry practice- which as a former restaurant owner and waiter- I’ve never heard of. So mixed drinks could be expensive. Same with disappointment with the flat wear: we ate dessert with two different but very large soup spoons. While we enjoyed the food, I dont think we’ll be back. It could have just been an off night. But nothing on the menu I would crave to go back for.
The service was poor, the food was staggering, drinks took 20 minutes and came after the food. It was a good attempt but we will not be returning.
Doi Moi never falls shorts on consistency. You will always have your dishes exactly the way you remember the time before. By far one of my favorite restaurants.
I think that the authenticity of Doi Moi is by far what makes it an exquisite restaurant, which is why I would definitely recommend Doi Moi to a friend or a foodie who enjoys authentic food.
We shared okra, spareribs, coconut rice—after some delicious appetizers, with beer. Delicious!
The food was mediocre. I ordered beef jerky, duck hearts, mango salad and a fish branzino. I don’t hate all the dish but it wasn’t impressed me. Mango salad was too salty and not well marinated. Duck hearts And beef jerky were dry. A fish branzino was not seasoned enough. Overall, it was ediable.
Superb "new" menu since our last visit. Really quite good. Our server was extremely helpful and appropriately attentive.
Loud, hard to have a conversation.
We've had a very nice dinner at Doi Moi. Our waitress was the best, she made sure we were doing alright the whole evening and she knew a lot about the meals on the menu
I had an allergic reaction to the duck hearts. I’m broken out in hives all over. I’ve eaten duck many times, but never the heart. I wonder what caused such a severe reaction.
Hello Nini, So sorry to hear you had a reaction to your dish. Are you aware of having any other allergies? Perhaps there was another component of the dish that did not agree with you. Again, apologies for your discomfort and we hope you are fully recovered! Jennifer Battle, General Manager
