Amazing experience as usual. Dorset Inn is one of our favorites. Nothing better than sitting outside on a beautiful Vermont evening with a glass of wine accompanied by excellent food and friendly service. Highly recommend.
Impeccable service, delicious traditional fare in a beautiful and historic setting.
The Dorset Inn was charming and very enjoyable. The food was excellent and service outstanding. We would definitely return as it was memorable.
Thanks to a great staff there.
As far as historic charm is concerned the restaurant hits all of the marks while the food remains innovative and modern. Highly recommended.
Great meal, great service.
Kelsey was a great server! Food and drink arrived in a timely manner and she was super cheerful and pleasant.
Overall, are dining experience was pleasurable. The noise was a little high, but we enjoyed ourselves for the most part.
Love the food, the location, and the inn. We have been going to this inn to eat for many years, it is one of the best in the area.
Our reservation was made a week in advance, there were two tables in the restaurant upon our 5 pm arrival. When we were greeted at the door, the chaos of opening for a busy night was clear in the faces of the hostess and manager. Ladies, grace under pressure is the mantra of Foodservice...never forget that.
We were brought to a table in the middle of the dining room facing in an odd way. We politely asked for a different table. The response was “well we are watching our turns for the night!” That response was not logical as there were tables for two surrounding us...all empty at the time. We were left standing in the middle of the dining room for several minutes until we walked back to the hostess stand. The two ladies were frantically looking at the floor plan. The response could have been handled with dignity and kindness rather than our impression of “you don’t matter.”
We were fortunate to find another restaurant close by that treated us with respect and for that experience, we were grateful.
We will never return to The Dorset Inn, nor recommend it to our friends. Our first experience was pleasant, this second one that we will not repeat.
The Dorset Inn is fabulous!!
The food is exceptional as is the service, atmosphere and charm!
A must when visiting Manchester VT!!
We had a lovely meal although service was a little slow. It was a holiday weekend though, so that might be expected
Just a great meal! Lobster out of the shell, swimming in herb butter. ❤️
Excellent food. Service was very good. She worked hard. Tough to hire at present. Wine list impressive and reasonably priced.
Absolutely delicious food served beautifully. Great wine list. Amazing service. Highly recommend.
We love the Dorset Inn. Chef Jon is very creative and does a fabulous job.
We eat at the Inn a few times a month
We honestly can say that our meal was worthy of a 2 star Michelin rating. The wine list and whiskey list, along with local bottled beers and handcrafted classic cocktails are a great starting point. The food however, is stellar. One of the most memorable and delicious meals we've ever had around the world! Well worth a trip to this out of the way inn to spend a wonderful evening in old school ambience and class.
Several good seafood offerings on the menu. I had salmon, my wife had Portuguese cod. Both were very nice. We shared the flatbread with grilled asparagus and goat cheese, and that was excellent.
Food portions were small, beet salad-beets were very dry, and while the restaurant was not busy, our service was dreadfully slow. Will not be going back in. Hurry.
Hi Cheryl, We are so sorry to hear your visit did not live up to your expectations. We strive to be the best at what we do, and we truly appreciate your feedback as it allows us to grow. Best, The Dorset Inn
Felt safe with spaced out tables in cozy tavern. Masked employees! Good meal. Relaxing atmosphere.
Classic New England inn. Great atmosphere. Excellent food. Great service. We will be back.
Boring vegetables and only a scant amount; and over salted with both meals for the prices charged. Prices were inflated compared to the operations of everything. Need to do better.
Our go to place when in Vermont. Both my wife and I had the duck which was done to perfection. The wild rice and vegetables were perfectly prepared.
Thank you for such a wonderful review! We have passed compliments on to the chef, the duck is one of our most popular menu items. We look forward to seeing you again soon! Brianna
We took my mom here for mother's day. She used to come with my dad years ago and it was a great place to relieve memories and make new ones. The food, drinks, service, ambiance were all great. we'll return!
Overall a nice Mothers Day Brunch, however late to be seated (15 minutes) and waited an additional 20 minutes to get beverages. I think maybe short staffed or just getting back into the swing of things since things are opening up in Vermont due to Covid.
Food was good but a little pricey. It is a beautiful old Inn and our third time here.
Nice level was high but due to our table of ten and the duo singing in the next room.
Everything was perfect- so relaxing. Our waitress Jasmine was a delight. We could not have enjoyed our evening more!
An elegant intimate place. Food beautifully served. Just the right amount. Low lighting. Friendly staff
Extensive list of single malt whisky .
What a wonderful meal! Our starters and meals were delicious, creative and flavorful. Impressive wine list. Our server, Jasmine, was friendly and attentive. We will be back!
The Doret Inn was better than we expected. There was plenty of space, a lovely ambience and exceptional food. We brought friends who had never been to the area and they loved it, too. We will definitely go back next time we are in the area.
We have dined many times at The Dorset with wonderful experiences. This is the second time that two in our party ordered the grilled filet mignon, ordered medium rare once then more rare this time - as it was overdone the first time. The meat had no taste and, topped with the lemon butter, was even less appetizing. The meat obviously was not seasoned prior to grilling. We were guests of the Inn for the weekend but we’re seated in the breakfast room rather the dining room or pub room. We won’t make that mistake again!
Lovely surroundings and food. Everyone was very cordial and attentive. Have dined here before and never been disappointed!
Everything was absolutely fantastic! Can't wait to return!
Had wonderful birthday meal. Nice ambiance and service. Had the filet which was fantastic. My wife chose a burger because of the description of the ingredients and it was equally good. Grea experience.
The service was incredible and the table was perfect near fireplace on a cold and romantic evening is the best!
The food delicious and accommodating because we do not eat garlic.
Definitely will return for the liver!
Very good food, great service. Last minute find, but happy we decided to go there!
Called for reservations no time available! Used app during phone call to Dorset in all tons of times . Confronted when arrived no excuse !!!!
Amazing meal with wonderful service! Everything was fresh and delicious! Will certainly be back
Wonderful calves liver and duck breast will well cooked veggies and started with the crab cakes
Issues with new wine list but that will be remedied
Love the room very revolutionary with the fireplace very romantic
Looking forward to next time there
Second time here. Enjoyed our meal, service and ambiance. More importantly, an elderly woman sitting at the next table was choking on her food. Our server, who was walking by at the time, administered aid by performing the heimlich (forgive me if I spelled it wrong) and was able to help her dislodge whatever was in her throat. Idk her name but thought she should be lauded for her quick thinking and action. I hope mgmt reads this and recognizes this lady for her selfless act.
Great fresh butternut squash salad with grilled swordfish - maple creme brûlée with seasonal berries dessert was top notch. My sister noted the salad ingredients tasted home grown and freshly picked.
