This establishment is doing an excellent job of social distancing. Service was prompt and professional, food was excellent. Highly recommend.
Outdoors with heaters was very comfortable.
Excellent food and service
Good variety on the menu, either small plates or big dinner are all delicious food.
We have been to Douro a few times, enjoyed it and were excited to dine in its new location. Unfortunately, we did not find the food to be very good. We expected Portuguese food but got some kind of sad mix of watered down Portuguese/Chinese. Paella was a tasteless rice dish with very muted flavors. Honey chicken was disappointing version of Chinese takeout hot and sour chicken. Fried calamari served w same hot and sour bright red sauce. NG. Drinks were good though. Come for a cilantro margarita and go elsewhere for food.
Food was overpriced and very average. The portions were small. I was upset that they put a service charge on my bill without displaying this on the menu. When I questioned the waitress she said that is a tip for the kitchen staff. There prices are extremely high to begin with and putting a tip on the menu for the kitchen staff is extremely unethical. I will not not be back.
Food is delicious and service was impeccable.
The decor is beautifully modern yet still warm.
Highly recommend this Restaurant
George was such a gentleman and made our evening very special. The food was outstanding under the tent outside. Our group had the salmon, Paella and Mediterranean chicken...voila!
Thank you Duoro’s
Food and service was excellent, but portions are small.
Food was average. Small portions. Expensive
Always a pleasure!!
The food was excellent. At first the service was questionable but then it picked up and was consistent and great. The waters were refilled constantly which is always nice. My only complaint is that they were a bit skimpy with the dessert ports but everything else was amazing. Excellent servir, excellent food!
Food was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful!
The space is wonderful-- comfortable and pleasant. The meal was very good--- hearty mains with a touch of Europe. Great food choices on the menu; the wine list needs to get about twice as long-- choices are a little limited right now.
The service-- I believe we had a new waitress-- was spotty. She asked us "how are you doing?" about ten times, but whenever we asked for something it took a long time, and was often not exactly what we'd asked for. That said, the front door staff and the other servers were excellent.
I found Douro to be a great place for dinner and conversation. The drinks a bit pricey, but the food is excellent.
My birthday was spent alone but with the excellent food and service still enjoyable. Shout out to Shannon who mixes a great Manhattan and when I asked about what vermouth she use brought out the bottle and suggested several stores that probably carry it.🙂
Simply put, would I go back...yes, definitely.
Spent three hours enjoying dinner and wasn’t rushed out since the restaurant was 85% full so no need to turn the table which I am always conscious of. Too noisy in front part of restaurant so if you don’t want to be hoarse by the end of the meal, ask for a table in the back or upstairs.
Really good food. Beautiful setting! We will definitely go back!!
Many choices on menu, food was great and service excellent. Well worth a visit.
Awesome food and ambiance
we dined with friends who are vegans and Douro had a couple of vegan options on the menu. Everything was delicious.
Happy that Duoro has moved into the old Dome spot on Greenwich Avenue, one of the prettiest restaurants in the area. Seating upstairs is quiet and close to the Guastavino arches, downstairs more lively and noisy as near the bar. Service was very good, food was enjoyable, especially the appetizers and pastas. Other entrees can get pricey but the kitchen did a nice job. Bread was excellent, as were the drinks. Take note that a small amount is added to the bill for the kitchen staff, probably a good idea and deserved in any case.
Such a cozy place with a wonderful atmosphere. We got a corner booth & had the best time catching up over delicious wine & tasty food.
Love it! The food is always good and the service friendly. The Kobe burger on the lunch menu was outstanding as were the homemade potato chips.
Food was very good, however the noise level was so outrageous that we couldn’t wait to leave!
As usual superb
Always a culinary and atmosphere pleasure, great bartender and wait staff!!
The food was ok. Service was great. Nice ambiance. What turned me off was a service charge which was 4-5 percent that they have imposed and indicated it was not for the server bit for the back/kitchen! I don’t get this —why do they pass that to the consumer? Although I did not shortchange the server, it would be one that others may as they dont want to be paying for service charge more than 20-25%. This turned me off that we are not going back as the food was not that great for me to overlook this.
Amazing space with a great menu
Food is always good, but the prices have really gone up after the move. Initially when they moved they added the tip to the cost of the menu items but have recently stopped doing this but didn’t re-adjust the prices on the menu.........
Consistently, delicious, wonderful service and upscale atmosphere!
First visit to new location. More than 10 visits to prior location. Beautiful new space. Excellent service from experienced original location waiter. Many food items still delicious - marisco paella, ahi and crispy artichokes for examples. Prices definitely higher even after factoring in the included service charge - which is not well presented. You get a bill with no line for the tip like in Europe. We had to ask our waiter about it. Food presentation and flavor on some items was a bit different. ‘Smokey” meatballs and chargrilled octopus seemed less flavorful than in the past. No more of that delicious grilled bread - now replaced with ciabatta type rolls you see many places. Pizza and hamburgers on the menu are out of place and seems to be attracting more kids which takes away from the adult dinner ambiance at 7p on Sat night. Portion sizes overall seemed smaller. Serving presentation does not seem as unique - wish they would bring back the copper pots and the like and lose the white porcelain. Overall seems like they are standardizing to accommodate higher volume. Would suggest they just go,back to exactly what they were doing at the old place and that should get this 4.3 rating back up to 4.7/8 where it belongs. We will give this another shot in a few months after the growing pains subside.
Best burger ever.
I had the best burger in Greenwich at Douro. There are also a selection of interesting Portuguese wines that you don't see on many wine lists.
This is a no tipping establishment, which means the prices for everything are much higher. I believe this does not equate to getting great customer service since staff know regardless they will get paid out. With this said, we were seated at a table in the far back of the restaurant, though we had a reservation and the place was not full. Our table was continuously overlooked, even though the waitstaff walks right by it to the kitchen. The food was OK, but not worth what they are charging. They also tried to charge us for an additional glass of wine that we did not have. So read your tab before just handing over payment. The bar/establishment remodel was done quite well and it is a pretty spot, but I just think their prices are insane for overall what you are getting.
Food and service always excellent but noise level much too high so difficult for 4 people at a table to chat.
Great food and service. Friendly, casual atmosphere!
Always a pleasure from staff to ambiance and cuisine!
