Drake & Morgan at King's Cross
Nice place for brunch. One of the few places where u can book in advance and enjoy a leisurely time without tabletruning.
Good location and great ambience. Service was excellent and the staff were friendly and professional - our waitress was brilliant.
Slow service and poor food. My friends avo on toast was ok, my breakfast was cold, limp and left standing for a long time under the hot plate. When asked for a fresh one, the eggs came back as plasticy as the original and everything else had been re-fried and flung back on the same plate - i had to soak up the oil with my napkin
I took my cousins who were visiting London to Drake and Morgan on a Wednesday night for dinner.
From the minute we sat down the service was superb, the waiter immediately built up a rapport which each guest individually and made recommendations on the wine.
After a small mix up with a drinks order (which was rectified immediately with no fuss) our food was served quickly. The meals were all substantial, well presented with good flavour.
Numerous reviews have already mentioned this, but this venue is LOUD. We however requested a table at the back in a quieter area which did help, it’s the room to the right as you walk in the front door.
The service was extremely bad, the waitress forgot our order and drinks on several occasions.
Great food, lovely service - loud music from the bar next door but to be expected. :)
The staff who served our food were all amazing even though there was a booking issue. Food was ok and learn is it is a bar so is loud so hard to converse.
Lovely venue, good food but the music was waaay too loud for my taste
Excellent food in good location. However this is not the spot to go to for a quiet evening or if you want to have a conversation. Noise levels are deafening (literally, my ears were ringing for a good two hours afterwards) as everyone gets louder and louder to be heard over the background. Lots of hard surfaces don't help.
The decor was beautiful and our waitress was friendly, however, we had to wait a long time to gain the attention of the waitress and were only able to order two rounds of drinks from our table during our 2.5 hour stay. We opted for the set menu yet all my choices were sold out. The restaurant did allow me to order from the a la carte menu instead so it wasn’t a huge issue. However, our set menu ended with tea or coffee yet we could not have this as, at circa 11:15, we were told the restaurant was closing and had no prior warning. This was also quite confusing as the downstairs section was still going even after we left. Nevertheless the cocktails were delicious and the food I had was tasty. I’ve read other reviews and had no issue with the portion sizes; they were ample sized portions. Also, very reasonably priced and I will be returning but will keep an eye on the time during my next attendance!
Lovely staff, nice environment and good main meal. The chocolate brownie is a bit dry and general portion sizes could be a little bigger.
Been here a few times in the evening when it’s very lively but enjoyed a business lunch recently and can recommend.
We appreciate you taking the time to send us your feedback. The concept of our venue is to be able to sit down for a relaxed meal in our restaurant or drink cocktails and enjoy music in our bar. I can recommend the downstairs is always a louder atmosphere so i may suggest sitting upstairs or enjoying a sit down meal in our restaurant where you will be able to have more of a conversation. You can reach us on Info.email@example.com Kindest regards, D&M at Kings Cross
The burger meat was terrible. Tasted like a frozen burger from the supermarket that had been heated in the oven for 20 minutes. Very disappointing.
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent experience with us. Your comments have all been passed onto the management team to discuss and improve on. We'd like to apologise for the quality of burger served to you on the evening, this is not usual company standards and the kitchen has been notified of this feedback so they can ensure this doesn't happen again! Please do keep in touch with us for all future reservations. Kind regards, D&M King's Cross Info.firstname.lastname@example.org
Lovely restaurant with very friendly staff. Miss the Seabass dish which is now off the menu!!!!! It was my favourite.
We went for lunch before going on to the Chelsea flower show. The table was lovely very comfortable, staff very friendly. The wine we ordered wasn’t chilled so we upgraded to champagne which was reasonably priced for a London restaurant.
It then went downhill badly. All 4 of us chose the special crab and avocado salad. At £12.95 There was nothing special about it. Where was the crab? I scraped it all together and there was a teaspoon full at most of tinned crab on a bed of slimey wilted lettuce and a few cubes of avocado. We did ask for more crab but initially were told well that is the portion but she went back to the kitchen and were brought a similar amount again. They did try to appease us with a brownie on the house and reduced the bill by £14.
Thank you very much for sending your feedback! I am very disappointed to hear about this situation with your food; it sounds like a very frustrating experience & this is certainly not the level of food we wish to deliver. This has been discussed with our managers who look after our chef team as it is definitely something we will be looking out for in the future. I do hope you accept our apology and you will give us enough chance to show you the level of food we provide. Kind regards, D&M team
Service was okay but the quality of food for the price left quite a lot to be desired.

This restaurant is well placed but can be a bit noisy. Went with the same group of people 2 years ago & feel the food has gone down a bit since. It does not cater too well for people with a gluten intolerance. There are some choices but not loads & it can be a bit restrictive
No cocktail available that we wished to try, apart from that great food and perfect service
Great crowd-pleaser of a restaurant with a well-chosen menu, nice food and terrific service
Great atmosphere. Delicious food and just an enjoyable place to be. Highly recommend.
Lovely venue and so convenient for transport links. Had brunch here because it was dog friendly & close to the station. The food was great, all dietary requirements and picky preferences accommodated without fuss (so refreshing) and our waitress even brought water for the dog before we ordered our drinks : ) Will definitely be back and would highly recommend! Thanks
It was so bad it made my hair hurt.
Five of us were sat at a nice round table by the window for a Monday lunch. Staff were good and everybody was happy with the food. We would return.
Unfortunately our whole experience was scarred by terrible customer service. Long waiting times to get a waiter, terrible attitude of waiters who didn’t seem to care about their job or the customers at all. There was one seemingly more superior waitress who apologised profusely and deducted items from the bill which was greatly appreciated. However overall it was a shame as the atmosphere and food were really good.
Great service and nice space able to accommodate large groups. Round tables made it easier for everyone to chat.
Food and the ambience of the place was lovely. Service was a bit lacking - not offered the chance to order more drinks and our orders came all mixed up! We had to move bacon from one plate to another.
Also - the postcode is wrong! Google Maps too us on a bit of a journey. It’s literally just behind Kings Cross.
Slow and not very friendly service
Good atmosphere. Good food (although pricey but it is Kings Cross). Great place to meet for after work dinner/drinks. They were super busy though so the service was fairly underwhelming.
Thank you for taking your time to review your recent experience at our venue. Booked a table for 6 weeks in advance and 2 hours before the time received a voice mail saying they didn’t have space. When I called they offered no real apology and the explanation was that open table had confirmed the booking without telling them. No way of knowing if that is the case or not.
I explained that people were travelling from out of town and this left me no time to find somewhere else, eventually got a call back to say they had sorted a table. Not sure why that couldn’t have been done before, especially when there were plenty of empty tables in the downstairs area when we were there.
Drinks took a long time to arrive, at one point one drinks order was taken whilst three others on the table were ignored. Dirty cups, wrong drinks brought to the table and staff seemed to be really stretched.
The only saving grace was that the food was good. It’s a shame, I have been here before and it was great but this booking really didn’t go well.
Food was nice and service friendly.
Great attentive service, delicious food, great atmosphere, will def visit again soon!
Liked the volume in the bar but please turn it down for the restuarant. ..impossible to hear the conversation around the table.
good place to meet friends, food was good but the brownie was not. it was more cake than browney!
Working in Kings Cross, Drake & Morgan is one of my top choices both for business lunch and after work drinks!
The ambience is great, the service is always friendly and the prices are really decent for the area! The food is not bad but there's definitely room for improvement...it's pretty good though and the wine last is quite great!
Food wasn't that good
I tried the burger
Service was slow, we had to keep looking for someone to order wine, get water, order food etc. Our waitress was polite but not very helpful. We ordered a bottle of wine, she brought another bottle to the table and started opening it when one of us realised it wasn’t what we ordered - she replied saying “yes we ran out I brought you another bottle - it’s cheaper” - didn’t even tell us if we hadn’t noticed and then when we ordered another bottle didn’t get us to taste it - just filled all the glasses. They had also run out of dessert wine we ordered (they only have one), one of the dishes we ordered and ketchup!!!
Food was very average.
Ambiance is very loud - nice place for a drink but avoid dinning.
Young and energetic atmosphere. Good food but nothing outstanding.
Felt like the place was over-stretched/under-staffed. Probably caught them on a busy night. Food was good, nothing outstanding. It was a lively place on a Friday night
Buzzing Friday night made for a good catch up. Plenty of tables for sit down dining and oceans of tables for "Just Drinks". Not too far from Kings Cross Station.
Food quality was good, although the chicken burger tasted like it had been sitting for a while...might have been the busy service.
Still a brilliant place and look forward to going back.
Great food. Attentive, friendly service. Good atmosphere. Good venue for food or just for drinks.
