Drake & Morgan at King's Cross
Shockingly bad service! Had to wait 20-25min just to get a waiters attention to pay! Completely ignored the whole meal. Attitude of some staff is very poor. Disappointing.
As always, great service and delicious pancakes.
Chic and hip vibes with trendy menu to match. Great drinks too.
Service was not great. Brought the wrong meal, waiter spilled water but worst of all when I arrived and gave my name the reception person said ‘yes 4 people and a baby’ giving away to my husband that his children and grandchild were there for his surprise 70th birthday lunch - I was furious - she did not need to say anything except welcome and show us to the table.
Should have paid more attention to the poor Google reviews. Service was poor, the waitress tried to deliver our wines to another table and then the other table’s meals to us. Our plates were left stacked up on our table for 15 minutes until I got up and asked for service. The waiter was messing about at the till with his colleagues. He then came over and made a big fuss about comping us two glasses of wine.....which turned up on the bill.
Food was dreadful, the cobb salad was like no cobb salad I’ve ever eaten; lettuce, potatoes and Roquefort. The chips turned up cold. My companion’s salmon was ‘edible’ apparently (high praise).
Overall a bit of a disaster, which is a shame because it’s a nice restaurant with a pretty outside area (where we sat). Staff need training/managing and whoever is coming up with the menu is punching above his/her weight.
Good food - a decent choice for brunch! Only downside was slow service
It was my sons birthday and the extra brownie was good , sent as a dessert without ordering any desserts at that point , but then turned up with a candle In it . Table of 6 and it seemed we were always waiting for one persons meal to turn up at each course. Waited ages for one cup of coffee then two different ones turned up .
Terrific atmosphere and varied choice of food and drinks. Staff were very friendly and we had a lovely evening.
Great venue, but very busy so staff were overstretched and the music was so loud that it was painful
Absolutely loved my whole experience. Its ny second time visiting Drake & Morgan and I will definitely be back. Staff are super friendly and helpful and food is yummy. Not to mention the wine selection! 10/10!
The restaurant had a great vibe, very buzzing, unfortunately this was the only good part of the night. The starters were great, if we had the starters only plus the drinks I would have given 4* minimum, however the mains (we all had burgers) were terrible. The bun was burnt, so the burger had an overall burnt taste. I had the buttermilk chicken burger which was tasteless and dry, the truffle fries only seemed to have truffle oil on the top and the remainder of the chips were plain. Also the service could have been better (I understand the lady serving us was new) but we had to call her several times to give our order and the food took a while to come. All and all not a very good experience considering I have been to many Drake and Morgan chains (the Folly namely which is brilliant) and have throughly enjoyed the food (I always order the Buttermilk chicken burger which no criticism) and service.
Staff were attentive and great with the kids
Family birthday brunch. All 6 of the party ordered a main course including poached eggs. In every case, the eggs were cold, but the remainder of the dish were piping hot! Disappointing, but when this was brought to the attention of the staff, all meals were replaced immediately with no fuss. Full credit to Anna Maria and Tiago for their very, quick, professional and friendly service, particularly as we had this issue with the food. We were also given a 25% discount for our trouble. The kitchen should take note of how eggs are made and served. Will be back :-)
Lovely place for dinner with the family. The wild mushroom risotto was delicious!
Delicious supper with friends. Our waitress was friendly and welcoming and the chocolate cherry dome was superb.
Nice place for brunch. One of the few places where u can book in advance and enjoy a leisurely time without tabletruning.
Good location and great ambience. Service was excellent and the staff were friendly and professional - our waitress was brilliant.
Slow service and poor food. My friends avo on toast was ok, my breakfast was cold, limp and left standing for a long time under the hot plate. When asked for a fresh one, the eggs came back as plasticy as the original and everything else had been re-fried and flung back on the same plate - i had to soak up the oil with my napkin
I took my cousins who were visiting London to Drake and Morgan on a Wednesday night for dinner.
From the minute we sat down the service was superb, the waiter immediately built up a rapport which each guest individually and made recommendations on the wine.
After a small mix up with a drinks order (which was rectified immediately with no fuss) our food was served quickly. The meals were all substantial, well presented with good flavour.
Numerous reviews have already mentioned this, but this venue is LOUD. We however requested a table at the back in a quieter area which did help, it’s the room to the right as you walk in the front door.
The service was extremely bad, the waitress forgot our order and drinks on several occasions.
Great food, lovely service - loud music from the bar next door but to be expected. :)
The staff who served our food were all amazing even though there was a booking issue. Food was ok and learn is it is a bar so is loud so hard to converse.
Lovely venue, good food but the music was waaay too loud for my taste
Excellent food in good location. However this is not the spot to go to for a quiet evening or if you want to have a conversation. Noise levels are deafening (literally, my ears were ringing for a good two hours afterwards) as everyone gets louder and louder to be heard over the background. Lots of hard surfaces don't help.
The decor was beautiful and our waitress was friendly, however, we had to wait a long time to gain the attention of the waitress and were only able to order two rounds of drinks from our table during our 2.5 hour stay. We opted for the set menu yet all my choices were sold out. The restaurant did allow me to order from the a la carte menu instead so it wasn’t a huge issue. However, our set menu ended with tea or coffee yet we could not have this as, at circa 11:15, we were told the restaurant was closing and had no prior warning. This was also quite confusing as the downstairs section was still going even after we left. Nevertheless the cocktails were delicious and the food I had was tasty. I’ve read other reviews and had no issue with the portion sizes; they were ample sized portions. Also, very reasonably priced and I will be returning but will keep an eye on the time during my next attendance!
Lovely staff, nice environment and good main meal. The chocolate brownie is a bit dry and general portion sizes could be a little bigger.
Been here a few times in the evening when it’s very lively but enjoyed a business lunch recently and can recommend.
We appreciate you taking the time to send us your feedback. The concept of our venue is to be able to sit down for a relaxed meal in our restaurant or drink cocktails and enjoy music in our bar. I can recommend the downstairs is always a louder atmosphere so i may suggest sitting upstairs or enjoying a sit down meal in our restaurant where you will be able to have more of a conversation. You can reach us on Info.firstname.lastname@example.org Kindest regards, D&M at Kings Cross
The burger meat was terrible. Tasted like a frozen burger from the supermarket that had been heated in the oven for 20 minutes. Very disappointing.
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent experience with us. Your comments have all been passed onto the management team to discuss and improve on. We'd like to apologise for the quality of burger served to you on the evening, this is not usual company standards and the kitchen has been notified of this feedback so they can ensure this doesn't happen again! Please do keep in touch with us for all future reservations. Kind regards, D&M King's Cross Info.email@example.com
Lovely restaurant with very friendly staff. Miss the Seabass dish which is now off the menu!!!!! It was my favourite.
We went for lunch before going on to the Chelsea flower show. The table was lovely very comfortable, staff very friendly. The wine we ordered wasn’t chilled so we upgraded to champagne which was reasonably priced for a London restaurant.
It then went downhill badly. All 4 of us chose the special crab and avocado salad. At £12.95 There was nothing special about it. Where was the crab? I scraped it all together and there was a teaspoon full at most of tinned crab on a bed of slimey wilted lettuce and a few cubes of avocado. We did ask for more crab but initially were told well that is the portion but she went back to the kitchen and were brought a similar amount again. They did try to appease us with a brownie on the house and reduced the bill by £14.
Thank you very much for sending your feedback! I am very disappointed to hear about this situation with your food; it sounds like a very frustrating experience & this is certainly not the level of food we wish to deliver. This has been discussed with our managers who look after our chef team as it is definitely something we will be looking out for in the future. I do hope you accept our apology and you will give us enough chance to show you the level of food we provide. Kind regards, D&M team
Service was okay but the quality of food for the price left quite a lot to be desired.

This restaurant is well placed but can be a bit noisy. Went with the same group of people 2 years ago & feel the food has gone down a bit since. It does not cater too well for people with a gluten intolerance. There are some choices but not loads & it can be a bit restrictive
No cocktail available that we wished to try, apart from that great food and perfect service
Great crowd-pleaser of a restaurant with a well-chosen menu, nice food and terrific service
Great atmosphere. Delicious food and just an enjoyable place to be. Highly recommend.
Lovely venue and so convenient for transport links. Had brunch here because it was dog friendly & close to the station. The food was great, all dietary requirements and picky preferences accommodated without fuss (so refreshing) and our waitress even brought water for the dog before we ordered our drinks : ) Will definitely be back and would highly recommend! Thanks
It was so bad it made my hair hurt.
Five of us were sat at a nice round table by the window for a Monday lunch. Staff were good and everybody was happy with the food. We would return.
Unfortunately our whole experience was scarred by terrible customer service. Long waiting times to get a waiter, terrible attitude of waiters who didn’t seem to care about their job or the customers at all. There was one seemingly more superior waitress who apologised profusely and deducted items from the bill which was greatly appreciated. However overall it was a shame as the atmosphere and food were really good.
Great service and nice space able to accommodate large groups. Round tables made it easier for everyone to chat.
