The bright and airy first floor dining room is a really comfortable space to relax and enjoy lunch or dinner and a glass or two of fine wine. We use locally sourced, seasonal produce where possible combined with the very best Italian ingredients to create a menu that is modern and unique. We consider ourselves a contemporary Irish restaurant with an Italian influence.
Love Drury buildings especially being outside. It’s so atmospheric on
The balcony. Food is excellent but a little pricey for everyday so it’s special occasions only but lovely
Great food and service
Biggest issue was the smell of cigarette smoke coming from the terrace... very overpowering at times... unfair for non smokers to have their dining experience impacted by this when they are seated indoors in a non smoking area
Small portions, food nothing amazing and overpriced.
Great food & service!
Booked a Business Dinner with some guests over from Seattle. Table of 6 all very happy with the food and service. Change in table start time was made with no issues. Will be booking again in the future. Thanks Bridget
Lovely space, we were the first seated in the second floor dining room on Saturday night. Excellent food and drink. Was a relief to be somewhere quiet with the game on downstairs in the bar...
I would avoid in the winter...
Booked brunch for last Saturday and selected seats inside. When we arrived the waitress suggested we try outside. We found it a bit chilly and headed inside. Unfortunately, because the back door was wide open, the inside was not noticeably warmer than outside. Our waitress informed us that due to fire regulations she couldnt close the door.
So we ate our breakfast wearing our jackets and scarves and didn't linger after we had eaten. We have eaten here before in the summer and it was very pleasant.
The place wasn't that busy. I cant understand why they dont close the outdoors when it is winter and just serve indoors. They'd save money on their gas bill and maybe sell a few more drinks..
Great NYE dinning experience, the waitress was very kind and willing to attend us in the best way. The only thing I would complaint is in my dish they listed "some fancy sole fish name with Dublin Bay Prawn", well I think that was a crayfish, not a prawn, which in my opinion is something NOT edible and we consider that a pest in my country, perhaps the sole was perfectly cook and very well flavor balanced.
Indifferent service and mediocre food.
Great service the food was really good and the atmosphere, with a great table over looking fade Street was excellent
Excellent food and very welcoming atmosphere. I’ve been a couple of times now and have been impressed each time.
The day we were there, they were serving the bar menu downstairs outside, but not upstairs outside (despite giving us that particular menu). I ordered a cheese and salami board which was on said bar menu- they told me they could do it, but I was only given a salami board with no cheese 😂 bit confused as to what was going on but didn’t query.
Bit pricey for what it is but the restaurant itself and general ambience is great especially for groups.
I loved EVERY bite of my meal at Drury Buildings - AND every bite that I stole from my boyfriend's meal. We were thrilled with the Goats Cheese Starter as well as the Smoked Salmon Starter (especially good enjoyed with the bread brought out at the beginning of the meal). For our mains we got the Pasta w Pork Cheek as well as their Venison dish, both were spectacular and felt very seasonal. Finally we split the Hot Chocolate Fondant/Vanilla Ice Cream dessert which was perfect for sharing. I am feeling stuffed all over again just writing this review.
Overall - the food was spectacular and service was speedy, all in spite of a bustling holiday-season evening with an Office Christmas Outing or two taking place nearby us. The noise level was definitely "bustling" and louder than I prefer but it's a central location during December, what are ya gonna do!
My only constructive feedback would be to PLEASE have some alcohol-free cocktails listed on your menu. Their team did mix up a great strawberry AF cocktail for me, but I like to be able to pick my drink from a menu as opposed to asking for a bespoke drink that is either "fruity, sweet or sour?" and just hoping for the best.
Drury Buildings is not a cheap night out but it is worth the value and then some. I can't wait to have visitors come by so we can bring them out here.
Great food and service, nice vibe
We arrived a few minutes late. One of us was gluten free and the staff was super accommodating and noticed to bring gluten free bread which was not expected or requested. We have excellent service from start to finish from Edson and Taise who moved us outside for after drinks at request. Couldn't be more thrilled with the service for the night to catch up after months living apart!!!
Booked our table through Open Table almost a week before the day. When we arrived we were told our table was outside. It was made out that we had requested outside and we hadn't. When we sat down we realised that not only could we barely hear ourselves across the table due to the noise from the downstairs area but we were also technically in the smoking area so by the end of our meal our clothes and hair stank of smoke.
We asked to be moved inside and were told that they were booked up. I was told that "every other booking inside had specifically requested to be seated inside". This was a most disappointing start to our evening.
The service was good and the food was good but it did go cold quite quickly as were essentially sitting outside in winter. I would return but only if I knew I was eating inside. Be sure to request this when making a booking.
Service at the beginning was very rushed. Waitress took a wine order of one side of the table but didnt ask anyone else what they wanted and left. It took 2 attempts to order other drinks. Food was mixed. One main was delicious, one good but the other 2 just ok with one order getting mixed up. Dessert good. Starters nice. Overall apart from initial waitress service was good. Would recommend for a visit but would probably not return again.
Lovely food and great service. Restaurant is relaxed and very comfortable.
Dinner in the Drury Buildings is always a treat. The food is delicious, and the service is always top notch. Cocktails are pretty awesome too!
Drury Building is for me one of the greatest places for dinner. I recommend to reserve a table outside on their balcony. These tables are well heated and the atmosphere is just amazing. Lastly, the service is outstanding and the food just perfect in regards to price for value.
Excellent staff and great food! Bread was a little hard- that’s the only complaint, but a mild one. Everything else was excellent
Had the pavola and it was overcooked and ice cream tasteless otherwise fab meal
The only reason I wouldn’t recommend it, is because it was so incredibly loud we had hard time hearing each other. When I went on the website it said, dublins best kept secret, the balcony, so we requested a table on the balcony, it was like overlooking a club, way too loud, we could feel the vibration on the floor. Food was absolutely amazing and service on point, but please do something about the volume of the bar downstairs.
Enjoyed a lovely meal in the Drury Buildings. We were upstairs in the restaurant and sat in the outdoor area. The pre-theater menu had some lovely options. Really enjoyed ourselves and had a fantastic time. Looking forward to going back sometime soon.
Great for a birthday party
4 of us went for an early dinner. We were seated near to the cloakroom door, there was a draught due to this door been open to let people from upstairs access main stairs. Food overall was good, although the starter of tomatoes and mozzarella was too cold. Service was good, would recommend Drury buildings for an enjoyable night out.
Love this place. Its one of my favourites and I cant resist the Mozzarella and Tomato starter, it's THEE best. Our waiter was great and he recommended a wine that wasn't expensive but really good. We sat outside on the terrace area which has great ambience and has a lovely outdoors feeling, but its a pity that smoke rises! Cant really be avoided but the smoking area below it does create a 'smoking' atmosphere on the terrace. It probably smoking out there too but not great when you are eating. Otherwise, highly recommend this place.
A very dinner out in Dublin. The food and ambiance were both excellent and the service wasn’t bad but just a off at times compared to the rest.
We were there on Saturday night, we had pre booked a table. We ordered three cheese fondues to start, the waitress told us they only had two left. We ordered plaice and sea bass for main course, the waitress came back to say they had no fish left! Also the Gambas I had for a starter weren’t hot when they were served. Food was very average. We didn’t order any dessert. The table staff were very nice but weren’t very efficient. Very disappointing all in all.
We were there for lunch and REALLY enjoyed the lite bites (Tapas style). The mains were average, sort of disappointing after such FAB starts. Service was great, atmosphere lively and loud.
The pre theatre menu was smaller than the online version. We had little choice and ended up ordering from al a carte which worked out expensive. The craft beers were really expensive. The pork belly dish was not up to expectations.
Nice spot for a group dinner. Great pre theatre menu although it was limited it suited us perfectly
Wonderful evening dining with a group of friends. The staff remembered us from past visit and welcomed back. Food was lovely and service was excellent. We will be back.
Had a Lovely evening at Drury buildings. It was my girlfriends birthday and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. Good job guys. Thanks for the lovely evening. Will be back soon.
I have been to The restaurant at Drury buildings a few times now and it has been consistently good. We have always been impressed by the food and the consistency of service over a number of visits is a testament to the staff. Will definitely return for more.
Great pork belly. Excellent service. Every meal at the table was superb!
Got the prawn linguine. Amazing linguine but only 5 prawns in the dish in total. My friend got the hake & it was amazing.
Food was excellent as was the service, had a lovely table upstairs, we weren’t rushed and were able to relax.
We had reservations but were having trouble finding our way around. We called them and the staff was very patient in helping us find our way to the restaurant. The exterior is funky looking, with a lot of bright colors. Once inside, the decor and ambiance were calm and inviting. The food was a little more expensive than some other places in Dublin, but the portions were good sized. The flavor was excellent and the quality superb. We would definitely dine here again! Well worth searching out.
