Food was very good. Restaurant was buzzy with a good vide which was excellent at 10am on a Monday morning. Our server was excellent. Very hospitable and when our 2hr slot was up, he couldn't have been any more gracious when reminding us. Docked one star as some windows have an issue with condensation so they are difficult to see through - that's an issue when it's a rooftop restaurant that's marketing the view.

It wasn’t as nice as my experience the last time I was here. It may well be that they are so busy. We ordered a bottle of champagne but have experienced our glasses to be empty and not refilled quickly. I would have rather they kept it near our table and we poured this ourselves! The other thing was that I’ve requested to be seated with a nice view because it was my birthday but instead they put us in the middle. On top of it all, we felt we were rushed. We would have ordered another bottle of champagne if we didn’t feel they were kicking us out of our table considering we didn’t see people who took over our table after! (We sat near the bar to check). Ended up having drinks elsewhere (in Sushisamba). We’ll not be back. But will definitely go back to Sushisamba!

Surprisingly at Breakfast as Porridge was served Eggs and Sourdough were also placed on table so were going cold by the time porridge was eaten. The Sourdoagh toast was totally impossible to cut and had to be lifted by hand ,impossible to eat with eggs. the waitress agreed this had happened to others but nothing was done We had to return toast all uneaten. Surprisingly all e mails to management ignored Not good at the price

It's very nice restaurant, good view, good service and yummy food. I booked it in advance for 2 months and I been there at 6.30 pm. It's perfect time because we can see the view before sunset and took a good view after sunset. So, we can see day and night view. The service is very good, food served so fast and after we had them, the manager came to us and asked about our satisfaction. I think it's worth to wait for 2 months and sure I will try to find the time and book it again.

Despite having a booking, we still had to wait around in the bar for our table. The bar was full so we went to stand and wait near the reserved seats but were asked not to sit because they were reserved. There really wasn't anywhere else we could wait. Food came out in dribs and drabs - eel arrived first, then the pig ear, then duck, then the drinks about 15 minutes later. The view is really nice, however we did not get a table by the window. We ordered a lemonade and lemon lime bitters and they gave us 2 lemonades - one with lemon and the other with lime. Our waitress never returned to ask how our meal was going and I could not be bothered flagging her attention to fix my drink. They automatically reward themselves with a 12.5% service charge on your bill regardless of the service provided. The duck was really well prepared - juicy and tender and the flavour combination was delicious. I didn't really enjoy the eel because it had a sour taste but the pig ear was really well done. Presentation of food was excellent. Shame the service was so terrible. I probably will not be returning.

We visited for my boyfriend's birthday (he'd seen the lift shooting up to the top months before and had been pining after it ever since!) I booked early and requested a window seat, as I'm sure everyone does. Upon arrival we had to wait a little bit for our table, which wasn't an issue. I asked if it was still a window seat and was told it was. We were shown to our table which had a perfect view, much to my boyfriend's delight! We watched the sunset and the moon come up - it was just amazing. The food was fantastic. We had the Bread to start and Steak to share - just delicious. Even the sides were as good as the mains! Pudding was great, and the wine list was extensive. I would definitely visit again, even if it was on the ground floor!

Me and a couple of my friends came here for brunch on the last Sunday of September. We had booked it around 7 weeks before as it was so hard to get a reservation so we were looking forward to it! On arrival we were told to wait at the bar for 10 minutes as our table wasn't ready so we got some cocktails and made ourselves comfortable. We were shortly after shown to our table and seated in a lovely space very near to the window so we had lovely views of the sunny afternoon. We all had differnt things and we all thoroughly enjoyed (ox cheek eggs, Duck & Waffle and english breakfast). None of us could fault the food as it really was as good as we had expected, however, the main issue for us was the service. We constantly found ourselves with empty glasses trying to flag down the nearest waiter which proved difficult as they were either clearing up plates or providing the bill. Our main waiter was almost rude - he had a red shirt on and stood out from the rest of the staff. As I am allergic to eggs I asked if I could substitute them for something else e.g. bacon or sausage and I was told this is not possible. I'm quite shocked that somewhere as upmarket as Duck and Waffle would make this such an issue when a friend of mine had done the exact same thing the week before yet I was told this hadn't been done for '8 months'. Considering that we all spent £60+ each I am a little surprised that me swapping 2 eggs for a slice of bacon would be an issue. After this we were all pretty shocked and it almost put a downer on our afternoon. When our food arrived, the waitor did not query about what kind of egg allergy I had until I was eating. I found this unacceptable. When we tried to order a desert we had to ask for the menus - the waiter had assumed we didn't want any.........not sure why. Maybe because we had a bottle of wine (for this we had to request as well, nobody asked us if we needed anymore drinks even though we ALL had empty glasses).

A wonderful Saturday brunch with an equally amazing view! We were very impressed, not just with the food and the views, but with our server, Andre. We had a coeliac in our party, and Andre did everything he could to put her at ease and explain everything Duck & Waffle could do for her. Thanks to Duck & Waffle, my coeliac friend had her first waffle in six years! Andre - you're a star! The food was brilliant! I would heartily recommend the namesake dish...who'd have thought that a crispy-skinned duck leg would work with a waffle, an egg, and mustard maple syrup? I'm a convert! The Bananas Brulee waffle was also a treat, and my friends also experienced the Ox Cheek Benedict and the Full Elvis and cherry waffles (all got thumbs ups!). Yes, it isn't cheap, but you aren't just paying for the food, you're paying for the overall experience, which I felt was definitely worth it. It would be perfect for a special occasion, or to show visitors something very special in the city (as I did). Overall, I would definitely recommend Duck & Waffle to anybody who enjoys good food and good service with a view.

Amazingly my experience. If I had to find one critic is about the advise on price. We asked for a wine less than £50 and the sommelier advised three wines, two of each were "slightly over". There is a long list so it was not nice to push us to spend more.

Had dinner very late on Friday (22:45). The ambiance was nothing like I expected, the place is too noisy and tightly packed for the price you are paying. In the bar area the music is so loud that communication is difficult. The service was okay but not superb. Waiters hitting my chair when passing by, taking away plates at inopportune moments, asking too many times if we enjoy the food. The food was another disappointment. The famous 'Duck & Waffle' looks like something I could prepare while doing something else at the same time. Other plates looked ok and tasted ok, but nothing special. I've seen better looking and tasting pub grub. As for the view, it's quite difficult to enjoy it because of how the tables are organised and how tightly packed the place is. There are only a few places where you can get closer to the windows. Overall I was expecting a completely different experience. Don't go here if you expect to get something special for the outrageous amount of money you will pay. The Duck&Wafffle is just another pub branded as a restaurant. It even has an open kitchen.

We went to duck and waffle for my wife's birthday. We arrived 10 minutes late and were told to wait around whilst they checked if our table was available still. Once seated we ordered the duck and waffle and a few other things. The duck was over cooked and the other food was average tasting. Given the price, this restaurant was awful value.

The duck & waffle dish was so tasty - very indulgent. I recommend the bacon wrapped dates - so succulent and tasty..and fattening! The n'duja & guyere baked bread was a first (this is spicy sausage). The puy lentils were a real surprise as they were also delicious. The 38 day Angus steak dish was perfect and cooked just right even though 3 of us wanted it cooked differently - it just worked! Baked Alaska was fantastic and very light which is a disaster for the waist line! but worth it...The atmosphere is very relaxed and not pretentious at all. Quite a few city boys were in but as we dined at 6.45pm the mix of people was perfect. Its a great time to eat as you can see the amazing views and also see the sunset which is pretty awesome. The staff were just so polite, welcoming and very knowledgeable. The bar does the best G&T cocktails.

Positives: the view was stunning and the small plates were absolutely delicious Negatives: over-priced for what is essentially casual dining and customer service was lacking. We wanted to share the duck and waffle dish with some other small plates but were told the small plates would come first then the duck and waffle then an hour later as we ate our duck and waffle and ravioli main plates (one of which we hadn't really wanted) the table next to us were served everything together. We had also been persuaded to buy bread we didn't really want before the small plates arrived. I have never been in a small plates style restaurant with such rigid ideas about the order of service before. It was quiet when we were there so i couldn't see the need for it. The cocktails tasted good but had garnishes so large that you had to take them out and put them on the table to be able to drink them. Our waiter was friendly but brisk. The host/reception staff could have done with making a bit more effort to make eye contact and smile. Upon leaving not a single member of staff acknowledged us as we passed through the restaurant and then the bar.

I went to Duck&Waffle for my birthday and enjoyed the view.I even got a special surprise for my birthday. The waiters were very nice, still I had to wait surprisingly long (considering the small size if the restaurant) till I could order. The food was soso: the eggs were runny, the baked tomatoe was in fact just one tomatoe and the latte was the smallest I have ever seen. Still for a special occasion I'd go there again.

The food was excellent. The service getting our food was excellent as there was very little time in between course. My ONLY gripe is that the security person on the ground floor obviously found my reservation fine however when arriving to the 40th floor, the person there couldn't find the reservation and asked if I had the email confirmation of the booking when I made it two months ago even though I confirmed it by telephone this morning. Otherwise, an excellent outing.

We went there for the lunch in the 4th of September. The place was busy and we ordered a bottle of white wine, freshly baked bread with rosemary and two meals ' Duck & Waffle'. The service was efficient and the staff were very friendly! The views are fantastic and it's great to dine on the 40th floor while enjoying the panorama. Then, we decided to have cocktails in the bar, same floor and it was the best ever! Can not wait to return! Thank you chefs for our twins birthday surprise dessert!

I booked Duck and Waffle as a tread for my wife's birthday. I was expecting something quite special, and whilst the view is stunning, the restaurant is just full of groups of business people from the city dining out on their company cards. There's nothing wrong with that (we both work in the city too) but I would really only recommend this place for business meals or trying to impress a first date. The food was good but not great and the service was OK - they were trying to be good but it was too confused (got asked if our food was OK 6 times for example). The manager's were also wearing headsets to talk to the welcoming staff, which I always find slightly strange, and we had to queue for 10 minutes to get the lift back down to ground level which was not a great end to the evening. All in all, nothing to actually complain about, just rather underwhelming.

I'd heard great things about Duck & Waffle and expectations were high considering that we'd had to book six weeks in advance. The food was good but there's a limit to how tasty a fried egg can be!! We paid £100 for four people!!! And we didn't have any alcohol...a glass of orange juice cost £5.50!! I was expecting to pay a premium for a Duck & Waffle as you always do for these places. However, it's not worth how much we paid. They were also extremely stingy with portion sizes - the full English came with a tiny slice of bread and it would cost £6.50 extra for an additional bread basket. It was an ok experience but would not go again or recommend.

Fireworks were an added bonus at this hip venue that makes you feel like a million dollars. Almost impossible to get a table, but suspiciously quite a few stood open during our meal. Perhaps if Cowell and Crew fancy a bite after X factor? The signature dish is playful and delicious, every other course inspiring and divinely interesting. Cocktail with bone marrow was surprisingly good, after my daughter swapped with me because she hated it. We couldn't squeeze dessert into any spaces but every other plate was wiped clean. Fabulous place with a frisson of star quality everywhere, right down to the band playing in the bar on our way out with achingly cool bodies everywhere.

Me and my partner went here for our 5th anniversary dinner after a special day out in London. The views are amazing from everywhere you look. The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable when we asked for their advice on the menu and the food. The lady that served us was such a delight she even cut up our food and showed us how to eat the 'duck and waffle' the right way! Everything about this meal was a pleasure. Would defiantly recommend to anyone! Many thanks for making our evening meal one to remember.
