About

The regenerated Fort Dunlop is home to Duet Cuisine, a restaurant which brings together history and modernity as impressively as its surroundings. Here you’ll find two well loved cuisines living side by side in an attractive contemporary restaurant. The airy warehouse space is relaxed yet formal enough for a business lunch or a date to impress. Meanwhile that combination menu, created by two internationally acclaimed Chefs, allows for a freedom of choice – ideal for when you want Indian but your friend fancies pasta? The extensive a la carte menu includes favourites such as Lasagne Al Forno and Chicken Tikka Balti while a lunch buffet offers both cuisines with a creative twist.

Great food and very accommodating with choice . Restaurant wasn't full but was quite busy as it was a saturday night. Kept waiting for quite a while before drinks came and also a long wait to take order. Wasnt asked if we wanted more drinks and was hard to get a waiter to acknowledge us or come back once we asked a question. However this doesn't normally happen and will always go back.

Service was great as was the atmosphere. We ordered steak and a rib eye steak however they had no rib eye so ordered lamb instead . We asked for the steak to be medium rare and this was perfect. We asked for the lamb to be well done however this was more like medium rare.

Superb menu choice means you keep having to go back ! Both Indian and Italian menus are extensive and all great value for money.
We went very early evening and the place was not occupied at that time by many eaters but I feel sure that the atmosphere is good with a good crowd in. Service was excellent and the food matched. Well done.

The decore may be strange and the choice of an India or an Italien menu unusual to say the least. Nevertheless, the India food was very good. Aromatic and not just tasting of a base sauce with a few extra spices. With lots of locals eating there I'd say a decent bet.

We were staying at the Fort Dunlop Travelodge overnight in order to go to the NEC the next day and were surprised to find there was a restaurant in the same building. The Italian/Indian theme seemed rather bizarre but the convenience of being able to walk meant it was a no-brainer to book our evening meal there. we were very pleasantly surprised. It was a Saturday night and we were fascinated to see that all sorts of different groups and couples were enjoying their evening out. Family parties, small groups, romantic couples. All seemed to be having fun and we enjoyed the people watching as well as the excellent food. Sevice was prompt, efficient and delivered with a smile.

Read about this restaurant in the hotel magazine and decided to try it as we were a group of 8 with children. Adults wanted Indian and kids wanted Italian. Food was ok, nothing to write home about. Restaurant was absolutely empty and the staff were as miserable as hell. The only time they smiled was when we were leaving!!

We have been to this restaurant a number of times and enjoyed the Indian menu. On this occasion we went for the Italian option and really enjoyed the Insalata alla Caprese and Funghi all’Italiana starters, for the mains my wife had Pollo ai Funghi and I was pleasantly surprised by the Pasta Piccante Agnello which was cooked with a curry sauce. I would definitely go back again!

I booked duet cuisine to take my partner and mom out for a Mother's Day lunch, I found the service great and staff couldn't be happier to help, the food arrived quickly and was very tasty.
My only downfall was that there was no sign of any central heating, as it was quite chilly in there
Overall visit though was great, good value food would definatly recommend

Duet Cuisine is located in the iconic Fort Dunlop and is Indian & Italian cuisine, i had been there a couple of years ago and was well impressed, so i suggested to some friends that we eat there. We had a platter of starters to begin with and was very tasty, we then went for the main and to be honest it was okay, not good, not bad but okay and we all agreed so it wasn't just me

We visited Duet Cuisine on a Tues eve. Once we found it - unusual spot in an industrial park easy to miss - we were greeted by friendly staff. Pleasant decor and extensive menu. We opted for Indian. Slightly more expensive than many SE England curry houses and slightly smaller portions. Nice poppadums and pickles. Tasty mains; meat v tender, if smaller pieces than we are used to. Dessert menu typical frozen fare and inexpensive. An enjoyable meal, but we probably wouldn't rush back.

12 of us went to duet cuisine - the service was very good - all the meals except for one got a bit mixed up but it was sorted out very quickly. The starters and main meals were all very nice and we all said we should go again for sure.It was not too dear either, as we had three children with us who were well looked after

Duet is a really clever idea. For those that dont like curries it give you the oppotunity to join those that eat nothing but! Friendly waiting staff, interesting decor (not too sure I liked it) and good food make this a restaurent to go and find as it is a bit off the beaten track. We had 90% Italiean which was good and 10% curry which was excellent.

The food was amazing at Duet Cuisine it tasted great and full of flavor. There is a great choice on the menu serving both Indian & Italian. The tables are well spaced apart so you don't feel on top of each other like in some other places. The staff are friendly. I high recommend this place.

Great food, Service was poor with a few errors however they were low on waiting staff for a Saturday nights service. Coke was expensive and warm. Pizza dishes are quite cheap in comparison to others.

Very Tasty food and spacious dining area. You're not ontop of each other like smaller establishments.

Overall we came away satisfied.

Duet Cuisine - Fort Dunlop, Birmingham. Very welcoming staff with excellent service.Wide menu choice across Indian / Italian cuisine. Generous portions and Good value for money. Only downside is the location which is essentially a retail park which apart from the restaurant was desserted. Ample parking. Would definitely recommend. Also good for Groups.

Booked duet cuisine fort dunlop about 45 minutes before we went for 10 adults and 2 children, and we were not disappointed, starters and all main meals were really nice and the service was very good and quick for all of us. We all agreed we would go back as the food was nice - an indian starter and italian main or the other way round makes a nice change.

Good setting, great wine selection and very helpful staff (sometimes just a tad too attentive). Didnt think that both Italian and Indian could work together, but it really does. They are very confident about it, and it most certainly comes across in the interior. All in all, good times.
