With its most recent refurbishment Dukes can now properly call itself a venue with two bars, three private events spaces, a grill restaurant, excellent smoking facilities, canalside terrace and balcony overlooking the canal basin. Dukes continued appeal relies on its ability to transform from a relaxed, family friendly environment by day to a vibrant and stylish bar and grill by night.
The space has been extended and refurbished since its opening in 1991 and inside its interior combines contemporary features and its trademark antique furniture.
Cracking place loved it! Lovely food
Too noisy for my usual meal for 2 but would be interested to see what it's like on a weekday
Great food, lovely gin and friendly staff. Overall a fab lunch
Good food, great service. Enjoyed the live music (3pm-5pm on a Saturday)
The bar and music were great, but booked a table for 8.30 on a Friday evening for 2, no sirloin steaks? Ordered the fillet steak instead which was very over cooked and service was poor, will go for drinks but not for food again.
Lovely atmosphere- especially enjoyed the mother board and half price champagne.
Quality customer experience, great proactive service & menu was perfect.
The meal was delicious and the service was very good, there was no rushing required and the staff were polite and happy.
Lovely place excellent food would recommend to friends and family
Me and my partner dine here to celebrate our new apartment in Manchester after moving from Preston.
The food was really nice, I had a fillet which was good and my partner had the sharing board with few different types of cheese and I have to say that was amazing!
I wish I had that one too! The selection was great and they were really tasty!
The service was excellent and we will definitely go back
Fantastic afternoon here with friends. Such a lovely environment on a Sunday afternoon
Good food, some interesting choices on the menu which was nice! The atmosphere is good for after work, quite smart and formal. The booth areas made is more cosy. The service: the waiters were nice when they were with us, but they were slow. We saw them several times stood around chatting when we needed the bill etc.
Absolutely outstanding, from walking through the door the service was excellent, having a partener that is highly allergic to nuts, the manager was very patient and understadning of this and pulled out all the stops to ensure no nuts could get into or where in her meal. He ran us through the full allergen menu, advising us of what food/meals to avoid ordering.
Then when the food came, the server was brilliant, and the quailty, presentstion and flavour of the dishes where amazing.
I have drank in Dukes92 a couple of times before but never eaten and this was well worth the visit and was great value for money especially for the service we received.
We came for our daughter 18th we had a platter starter 2 people had steak one had flat bread other had beef Szechuan omg food was to die for will defiantly be back we always visit this bar when in the area it’s our favourite but first time eaten we like in Doncaster and would travel just for meal outstanding x
Brilliant food, brilliant service, brilliant atmosphere
Prompt and attentive service in a nice relaxed atmosphere
Really pleasant experience. This was a party booking but were treated as individuals and all our needs were received.
The worst service I have ever received at Dukes. Ordered a mojito (without alcohol) as I do not drink alcohol & never been allowed to. It got served with alcohol after 20 minutes waiting for 2 drinks. Then ordered an espresso, this was served in a cappuccino mug, without any milk as a side or any sugar.. again waited another 5 minutes to get these.
Fantastic late Sunday lunch. Brilliant service. Beautiful food.
The food was good however service was slow and poor. We had to wait a long time for drinks, one was a 'the works' hot chocolate. Came with the rest of the drinks 20mins after ordering. Hot chocolate was cold, no marshmallows as promised on the menu and they tried to charge us more for it on the bill.
Beef too rare (bloody) despite ordering medium. (Had previous experience with undercooked chicken here but staff responsible and drinks were on the house)
Booked for pre-football lunch. Handy for metro station. Good choice of food and drinks. Good ambience. Will be going again.
Food was above my expectation and is very good value for money. The only issue would be that if you like a quiet dinner the music is very loud.
Booked and came in with a group of friends for a Christmas meal on a Friday evening. Generally everyone really enjoyed the experience - we were dealt with quickly on arrival, the food was lovely and reasonably quick given it was a very busy evening and the setting was nice. Overall staff were very friendly and helpful. The only let down was that we were asked to move table about an hour and a quarter into a three course meal as our table was needed. The table we moved to was much smaller and tucked into a corner so one of our party was bumped into a few times. Staff did their best and dealt with it very well (we were given free desserts) but this is not very professional and should not happen. I assume an over-booking might be to blame or perhaps full details were not given in the confirmation as regards how long you can have the table for. Such a shame with everything else being very good. We can appreciate it was a very busy time. Overall we would come again but check the table and timing details very carefully.
The bar area was very busy with Christmas parties but the restaurant was quieter and we were impressed with how quickly the food was served
Visited with my wife on a Saturday night for drinks and food. The place was packed but with a great atmosphere. No problem getting served with drinks and pre booked table ready on time. The food was delicious and will certainly visit again soon.
We had a great meal. We were very happy with the evening. The food was really nice. It was a little bit cramped because of large Christmas bookings but that us expected at this time of year
Excellent food, extremely enjoyable lunch, service nothing too much trouble
Amazing food and atmosphere. Very reasonable prices menu
Very nice location, great atmosphere and amazing food!
Bar staff could have been a little more attentive as we have spent 15 minutes at the wrong side of the bar and no one told us we have to come to the front.
A posh burger place. Great for families or every day dining.
Me and my partner thought that dukes 92 was a very pleasurable place to eat and drink . The service in which we had was excellent and the food was great.
Couldn’t fault it, cocktail menu wasn’t too appealing for my preference. The steak was amazing!
We enjoyed a lovely Lunchtime get together with friends at Dukes 92. The food was lovely as was the venue. 3 of us had Fish and Chips which were delicious and all freshly cooked. The other friend had the Cheese and Onion pie which he said was also delicious. Definitely would visit again and would recommend.
Excellent choices on menu. Food was well presented and tasty. Service attentive. Environment is smart. On Saturday evening the music is very loud, so conversation is difficult. The music could do with toning down as it spoils what is otherwise a really nice place to eat good food.
Really tasty food. We had a platter and some cocktails. Enjoyed the experience and location was fabulous.
The food and service was all really good. The wine tasted excellent and the food was outstanding. The unique interior design of the restaurant gives it such an luxurious and casual feel. It was incredible. There was a single thing which did not appeal and that was how the bar and the restaurant were merged into one, while my girlfriend and I were enjoying our meal, a few people from the bar would make a group beside our table and speak loudly and the occasional bump into us also happened. Apart form that everything was excellent.
This is a fantastic gastro pub food is excellently priced however could do with more selection of food on the menu but not overkill.
Overall however the meals that we had were excellent. Only complaint towards the end service was a little lacking.
We were seated upstairs which meant we had some privacy and were able to talk away from the noise of the main bar, our waitress was lovely very chatty and helpful (unfortunately I can't remember her name), and the food was 10/10.
We attend Dukes as a party of 8 prior to every Manchester United Champions League and midweek home games and the food and service are always excellent with regards the bill I don’t pick it up so I cannot comment but looking at the food prices on the menu they are very reasonable and fabulous taste 👍
