The Durbar is a fantastic, friendly Indian Resturant. I can recommend the deliciously hot Chicken Naga.
Incredibly dry and tough chicken. Perhaps it was the day’s batch but they gave us 2 dishes with chicken breast and both were inedible (the sauce and overall flavor was good, but the meat was too dry).
Top 3 Indian meals that I've had in London. Service was quick despite restaurant being full and food was delicious. The lamb shank curry!!
We're regulars at the Durbar and, dining in there for the first time since lockdown found the food as good as ever and the welcome if anything even warmer.
We had a fantastic evening at Durbar, the food was delicious and staff just wonderful. 4 of us had our first meal out since lockdown and it was perfect
Great meal and very friendly nice staff
The best Indian food within the Notting Hill, Bayswater, Holland Park area. Special recommendation of the Jeera chicken and Achari Lamb. The grilled tandoori Chicken is also excellent along with the Lorient Special chicken and all the delicious vegetable dishes. A family run restaurant where you feel you are eating as part of that family. Don't go anywhere else.
Great food and good service. Some original things on the menu, such as a venison special, which was delicious.
Butter chien was okay, dessert was not good, service was okay.... it was so noisy ! I couldn't even talk to my friend in front of me....
Simply delicious! Excellent Indian dishes. Lively place & friendly staff.
Wonderful Indian food! Very friendly and frequented by regulars, which is a good sign.
Great local spot, prices are fair , service is good and food is excellent
Great neighborhood place in Bayswater/Knotting Hill area. Lots of folks stopped in to get carry-out. We were greeted so warmly when we arrived. Low-key and comfy atmosphere. Staff was very helpful and accommodating with my needing to order gluten-free dishes. YUMMY starter made of chickpeas and potatoes. Chicken tikka masala was fantastic. LOVED it.
We ordered 3 meals for 4 of us and had plenty of food. Last time we had to take food home. All 7 meals we tried were flavorful and all different. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting good quality Indian food at a reasonable price.
Very pleasant evening at Durbar
we were a large group and the waiters were helpful and welcoming all the wau through
the place can be very noisy when full but the lovely food ans staff makes up for the noise!
Our favourite indian when in London, and has been since early 2000! Small restaurant, so it’s smart to book a table. Always friendly. Excellent food!
It was great as always! I'm a regular there over 15 years.
This was our 3rd time at Durbar's and in fact, we are going there again this evening. The Indian food here is truly delicious. A mingling of flavors that you really want to savor and take your time to enjoy. We had the samosa trio and calamari appetizers. Divine. For dinner we ordered several dishes to share including the king prawns, the chicken vindaloo, a very good lamb dish and rounded everything off with garlic naan, raita, and lemon rice. An exquisite Indian meal that is very hard to find in the States. They also have some great South African wines on the menu and dessert was delightful - banana fritters with Mango Ice Cream. A lovely evening - great food and service.
Food was amazing and service very thorough. Try their specialties!
Durbar was a very clean, nice environment with good portions of food. We found the chicken korma and chicken tikka masala to be a little too sweet for our tastes, but others might not have an issue with that. Naan was delicious, but most naan is!
Very good food & service, but a bit pricey. The chicken vindalo was most tasty, as were the basmati rice and garlic naan. I appreciated that I was given time to finish my beer after eating dinner, as this is not always the case in Indian restaurants. I would definitely consider returning the next time I am in Notting Hill.
Sadly my daughter was inadvertently served a dish with nuts to which she is extremely allergic and had a medical emergency. The owner was very apologetic, but the damage was done, and sadly this was the first time she had Indian food, so has a very negative impression. Be careful of this place, afterwards we learned the waiter did not write down the allergy after we mentioning.
This was a birthday booking of which there was no acknowledgement of by the staff. Also, whilst the staff were friendly, the service was very, very slow and it took over 15 minutes before we were served our first dish. I ordered the calamari to start which was horribly soggy and seem like it was soaked in extremely salty soy sauce. My main, the Nihari was very tasty but sadly very oily. My friend also found his food very oily. The rice and naan we ordered were lovely. Sadly, not the best experience and I dine out a lot. Maybe because we went on a Monday evening...
Great food and great service as usual- best curry in London.
We had to wait around20 minutes for our table as the restaurant was very busy and it was Christmas week but the food was very good and the service as staff were very kind, attentive and accommodating .
We have dinner at Durbar every time we come to London and its always a pleasure! Food is delicious.
portions of the starter (vegeterian plate) was extremely small compared to the price.
the waiter serving us was not kind.
Efficient staff and delicious, super tasty Indian food.
Good food and customer service in a very nice quaint restaurant.
Booked on the day via the app as decent reviews and within walking distance from our Maida Vale apartment.
Our table wasn’t quite ready, as restaurant was jam packed. We were able to wait at outside tables as weather was good so we didn’t mind.
Everyone enjoyed their choice of meal, which were all good quality and full of flavour.
Agree with previous reviews about waiter being a tad overpowering, pushing us to order certain things. Aside to this I couldn’t fault service, cleanliness and food that was good value. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone in search of decent Indian food in the Notting Hill area.
Great food and an excellent experience! Durbar is a family-run Indiana restaurant that's been open over 60 years. The food is flavorful and aromatic. We knew we ordered too much food because there were so many dishes that we wanted to try, but nothing went to waste. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Everything about Durbar is casual, but the food is simply wonderful.
The Dubar Tandoori Restaurant is my absolute favourite over many years for Indian food in London. I always pay a visit, when in London.
A little bit disappointing evening, the lamb dish was not very good, it was tough. Also we over ordered so we left quite a lot of the food. The place is a bit crushed and you feel slightly rushed by the waiters. I have been here several times in the past and I remember the food being outstanding.
Great food, but service is a little uncomfortable...pushy to get you to buy more, but not very helpful or responsive to requests (e.g. took us asking four times to get tap water).
By far this is the best Indian restaurant in all of London!
Was looking for some good Indian cuisine while in London and found it only blocks from where we are staying. Durbar is excellent food with fine service, at a reasonable price.
My wife, no fan of Indian food, enjoyed her tandoori chicken immensely.
Every time we come to London we go to Durbar. We' en never been disappointed. Food is delicious, staff is very kind and prices are totally ok.
authentic flavors in a neighborhood location that made the 30 minute walk from our hotel well worth it.
Best Indian food I have eaten in either USA or London
Established Indian restaurant which nails it in every area for this category of eating. Would recommend to all.
