We went for the Sunday buffet which has a reasonable selection of tasty food. Good views overlooking the river Nene. Be wary though that this venue puts a 10% service charge onto your bill and drinks can be quite pricey. Having said that I will be going again as the service, food and ambience is good.
I have recommended Eat to my friends and have brought many of them to eat with us. Very good restaurant, nice staff and great food
Interesting restaurant located on a Dutch barge on the river. The food does not quite live up to the surroundings, especially the vegetarian pad Thai noodles which were very bland. The tofu was good and the Singapore curry OK. The home made coconut ice cream, however, was delicious. The staff were welcoming and the service good.
Tuesday £10 2 course menu excellent value for money. Food all hit and delicious
Never fails to deliver always 5 star food .....we try many different dishes, give it a go you won’t be disappointed
Usually very reliable, East let us down this time and it was a special occasion. Birthday girl's main course was lukewarm. It was sent back but the second attempt was no better really and was left uneaten. I'm sure it would have been replaced for a third time but as there were only two of us there, my meal was already eaten so it spoiled the whole experience really. East didn't charge us for the one main course which was fair, but it wasn't really the point.
Amazing food and great fun. Staff were friendly and food was delicious
Great food. Knowledgeable staff, great setting. For £10 you cant go wrong.
I would absolutely recommend East. The food is just incredible, if a little pricey but you pay for quality. The staff are very friendly. Nice atmosphere although can become a little noisy during the busier periods.
Great service. Fabulous food. Not rushed at all. Love the flavours of everything. Favourite Asian restaurant by far.
Eaten here a few times now, the food is always excellent as is the service, very good for Oriental flavours
Very well run
manager very friendly
By far and away the best restaurant in Peterborough, the food is consistently above average and the staff are super friendly. A little on the pricey side but well worth a visit for special occasions or for the lunch buffet which is a snip at 2 courses for £12.95
Lovely setting. Wonderful food. Really enjoyable evening
Overall the food was nice as always. But just a couple of small things that could have been better. We had the mixed oriental starts for 2, the heavenly beef was dry and over cooked and Tempura battered aubergine was soggy. The Aubergine seems to be a bit out of place.
Great service - really nice atmosphere and the food was delicious! We’ve been to East a few times, and we’re always impressed - will definitely go again!
A favourite restaurant of ours with lots of choices.
I have never been disappointed with anything of the East experience.
Nice food but very little choice. Also some of the food for buffet was hot from the kitchen but sat on a cold plate which obviously meant it got cold in no time.
We weren't told where napkins were and views from boat were crap. I mean I suppose it is just opposite a load of flats.
Wouldn't recommend the place die to the fact it's far out of town and thr choice was poor. I did enjoy the food but not enough to warrant paying £13. More like £10 as there are plenty more buffets with double thr choice of food
Excellent food, particularly the green curry. Perfect beer (can bring up a pint from downstairs) and lovely view.
Friendly staff, excellent food riverside setting...all good.
I didn't find the food as good from when we last visited. Very plain taste of the Chinese food. Beef was overcooked. Starters were good. Disappointed that they automatically include service in the bill and even then don't list it as optional. I don't think this is moral.
Good food, pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff.
We brought two friends to the restaurant who were delighted with everything. Lovely dining experience with great food. Loved the pad Thai prawns. Chicken satay starter was a great hit. Curries were excellent. Will all be coming back soon.
Remains one of the best places to eat locally, tasty food with lots of choice, lively atmosphere and usually someone we know also enjoying a meal on the boat!
Fantastic restaurant with the food always excellent and perfect service to match.
Lovely and relaxing, especially watching the activities on the river.
Four of us ate on a Monday evening so it was fairly quiet. The food and service is always consistently good and this occasion was no different. We had the set menu D at £29.50 per person. We particularly enjoyed the sea bass dish and reading beef. A decent bottle of white Rioja at £22 a bottle is good value. Very friendly, helpful and professional service.
The buffet worked well. Good selection of foods, everyone could have what they wanted and as much as they wanted. Made for a relaxed Sunday lunch. Good value too.
The buffet food was terrible, same as going to your local take away and not a good one
Excellent food and superb location. A very popular restaurant with very good service.
The food was really nice and the ambience was good. A seat next to the water would have been even better.
The server didn't know what a sauvignon blanc was so I ended up having house white.
A nice place with good food and I would definitely go back.
Fantastic as always beautiful food and always cant wait to come back .
We are big fans of the Sunday buffet. It's great value seeing as you can go up as many times as you'd like.
The service is always great.
It's lovely eating with a river view!
Good service, nice decor (crisp white tablecloths), You have to walk the gauntlet of the bar outside where people have had a lot to drink but the welcome was warm and a good menu which represented good value. The big disappointment was the food. I expect Thai food to be delicate in terms of flavour, the sauces and the cutting of the vegetables and meat and this was not
Great food - never disappointed with the food or service here.
Wish we had chosen from menu instead of set meal, but enjoyed the visit
I feel like as soon as we arrived, staff attitude made us feel uncomfortable. We booked twice by accident and were called out on this. Then we asked if the prawn crackers that were on the table are vegetarian. (sensations prawn crackers are) The response was "well they are prawn crackers so obviously they are not". I just feel like from the moment we walked in the staff had an unwelcoming aura. The gentleman in the white shirt however was very friendly and provided a great service. The others however made us feel uncomfortable, for a 9 year anniversary it set a awkward tone. Food was ok. Portions not that big. It is very aesthetically pleasing though (the look of the inside and looking out onto the swans) I have to say but don't think we will be returning.
We always have an excellent meal at East.
Well run and good staff.
2nd time we have been to east and it never disappoints. The food is amazing, all freshly cooked and the most wonderful combinations . Service is prompt and very friendly . Lovely atmosphere suitable for older families and couples . Really can't fault it and well worth the money.
Food was amazing, will definitely be coming back soon.
