5 poached shrimp, cockail sauce, lemon wedge
chopped romaine, garlic-anchovy dressing, parmesan, garlic crouton
Delicious salad, always, any time of year. Mussels were wonderful and an enormous portion. My husband was very happy with his burger, and the fries were real potatoes, sliced and a nice dark brown. All good.
And a good pour of delicious wines made it a great meal.
service was great...food cooked to perfection. I have been and will continue to be a regular.
Grabbed lunch. Great food, place was not busy but seems the local folks support it well. Also has a hotel attached.
Either way if your looking for good food in Pittsfield this is the spot.
Lunch was GREAT...the grilled cheese and tomato soup with the homemade potato chips is sooooo delicious. Our waitress, Saady, was exceptional; very friendly and attentive.
We can't wait to return!
Fantastic food and ambiance. Wait staff is very attentive and personable.
This was such a disappointing experience
We drove over 30mn to go to this restaurant for my husband’s birthday. Service took forever . Finally the drinks came.
We ordered a crab cake to share as an appetizer
My husband ordered the meat loaf and I the risotto.
The crab cake was raw inside.
After a long while the meatloaf finally came with a mushroom and cheese fondue! Not thé risotto!
I spent the dinner looking at my husband eating as they were preparing the risotto. I ordered another glass of wine which never came.
The waitress was nice and apologetic. Finally the risotto came 🤨 ... it was salty and i couldnt eat it.
Finally the manager came and apologized . We ended up paying only for the meatloaf and one glass of wine.
A very disappointing evening. I doubt this was the kind of mediocre food served at the White House !
Entries served luke-warm, cool. "Reheated" in microwave...
We've been many times but finally tried the mussels. Outstanding. Hugh portion, so we were glad we only ordered one entree to share. Short rib special was perfect. Friendly service. We always enjoy this place.
Nice venue for our group. Food was good as was the overall setting. Service staff struggled a little with the size of the group but ultimately got there and we all had a good time.
Totally reliable in every way. Delicious green salad. Large entree portion. The pork chop was perfectly cooked with yummy sides. Great wine by the glass at reasonable prices. Remains our go to place.
While we enjoyed our evening there, we were disappointed that one of the dishes had a long dark hair in it and another wasn't cooked properly. They were very accommodating about the problem. dThe menu choices were perfect for our evening.
I saw online they had an oyster bar but there were no oysters available. That was the beginning of my disappointing dinner.
The table that was seated five minutes after us got their drinks and bread plate before the same waitress even took our drink order.
The food was average at best. I had the NY strip steak. I asked for very rare it came out medium and it had no flavor. My husband had the fish and chips, fish was mushy and freezer burned and the chips were greasy and under cooked. He was not happy with his meal either.
We had two drinks each. In the end the bill was over $100. It was definitely not worth it. I would never go back there.
Nice atmosphere and staff but overpriced for the mediocre food.
Excellent food! Great service!
Great food. Nice ambience. Pleasant waitstaff, but slow and inconsistent service.
Loved everything about the restaurant...from the decor to the service to the eats...presentation and taste was excellent.
Great space with a "California" hip space feel. Food was very good and the service was fine. The bar scene is cool with a raw bar on the weekends. My only complaint would be the loud band on Friday night.
the ambiance of the restaurant is lovely and the food was delicious! Because a small quartet started playing during our meal, we went to the bar after dinner and had a drink while enjoying the music.
Not crazy about the menu. Poor choices for non red meat folks. Peppers in too many dishes as flavor or fill. How about some diversity. Mussels very dull. All in all menu a bit on the heavy side. Service quite slow. Beautiful and pleasant place. Lots of promise. Keep working at it!
Very nice spot. We went there with 2 young children and staff was very accommodating. Excellent burger.
This place is different than a lot of Berkshire restaurants in that it has more of a city feel. It’s not in a charming old house or inn, it’s attached to a hotel in Pittsfield. I liked the decor and space between the tables. It was comfortable. The service was a bit slow, but he was nice, but the lack of pre-bussing was annoying. The kitchen didn’t come through on a couple special requests. The food was good, and well presented. Will go back.
Waiter friendly enough and service ok food average
Food was incredible, we had salads, raw bar itemd and deviled eggs as appetizers. Followed by meatloaf, pizza and hamburgers. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and attentive. Would go back for sure.
The best part of Eat on North is their raw bar. We had a dozen oysters (being big oyster fans) and it did not disappoint. I didn't see the seafood tower on the printed menu (it was online) but the shrimp cocktail was also very good.
Another hit was the pasta bolognese. I kept eating it off my husband's plate.
Overall, good service and good food. It's priced high for the area, but it's trying to be reminicent of big city dining, and is worth the price.
A fun place to eat, the wait staff was fun and attentive and the food was great. Had a great time.
First of all most of the food was ok. The place is nice. Drinks were good but “short”. The biggest issue was the server who was totally inept. We were seated and the room was half filled. After 10+ minutes he showed up and said I’ll get you bread, do you want a drink? Ten minutes later the drink showed up (short). Ten minutes later he came back and asked if we wanted bread? After he delivered the bread we ordered. One on the orders was for a medium rare steak. Everything was delivered but the steak was nearly raw. You would think a server would see that and get it fixed. Well he did’nt. Fifteen minutes later we had to wave down the hostess to address the problem, which she did. Then we waited and waited for the check. Again he was invisible and after fifteen minutes he delivered it. After around ten minutes he showed up and I tried to give him my card he actually used both hands to waive me off. Again we found the hostess and she took care of it. This was a special evening for my wife and family.
Service was distracted and slow.
I could have given them a better review for the food - because the bread was good. Never got a chance to eat or drink anything else. We arrived for our 7PM reservation and waited by the hostess desk for 10 minutes as the line built up behind us. We were finally seated at 7:15 and they brought us bread and water. Then we waited for 15 minutes, but the waitress never showed. The one serving the table behind us walked by and glanced at us, but didn't say anything. We had a show to attend, so we ended up getting a slice of pizza.
Totally understaffed. Had to wait over
The salad was delicious. Wine was great. Pork was a bit overcooked but tasty. The live music was too loud! We had been having a great time talking to our friends but once the music started that was that. The folks in the bar loved it but those in the dining room weren't so keen. Good musicians but unnecessarily loud.
Great burger and homemade chips
Will dine here again
The tomato soup was the best I’ve ever had! I also had the burger which was great!
We had a lovely dinner there. I ordered a basic hamburger, which was one of the best hamburgers I have ever eaten. My companions both ordered the fish fry and they loved their food. The restaurant was quiet and clean. Our server was attentive and made wonderful suggestions for our meals.
The food is outstanding.
Nice location; great warm bread served. Nicoise tuna was inedible—a can of Starkist solid white would have been a vast improvement over industrial tuna served for $26.
We discovered Eat at the end of the season and we've been going after matinees at Barrington Stage. The staff is friendly and the manager is attentive. I have enjoyed the Shrimp an Grits. My husband likes their Bolognese. The salads are large enough to split. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully served.
Interesting menu, good food served by attentive staff in pleasant open atmosphere. Perfect pre or post theater dinner in Pittsfield, MA. Loved the cheesy grits and shrimp appetizer served in cast iron skillet paired with a garden fresh house salad. Nice industrial chic environment with comfortable space between tables to allow for private conversations. Will return.
Nothing fancy-schmancy, just really good food, promptly prepared and served by cheerful servers in a naturally light-filled space with warm wooden tables and chairs. And very reasonably priced.
I had a vegetarian dish, which was beautifully prepared, tasty and filling.
Let me start by saying the fault of poor service lays at the feet of management and not the servers, who are friendly, helpful and trying to do their best, despite trying to cover too many tables. The food is very good and it's a great atmosphere. We've been here several times and will go back, hopefully, they will hire more great servers. Also, they seem to have a problem of having too few pepper mills and no salt and pepper on the table...when I asked the manager, she shrugged her shoulders acknowledging that it makes no sense.
i selected this restaurant based upon its proximity to the colonial theater, where i had tickets for an 8pm play. we told our server that we had to be out by 7:30pm and we were, but not rushed!!
menu items were varied and i was torn between 2 entrees--i picked the roast pork tenderloin with the braised red cabbage and sauteed rapini (greens)...a good choice. my girlfriend had the "mama's meatloaf", served with mashed potatoes and assorted vegetables...a good comfort food dish!!
overall, a pleasant surprise for a downtown hotel in pittsfield
