Wonderful food and service. A go to place
My chicken was way too salty and my husband and friends sea bass was very watery. They took my chicken back and I got French onion soup which was pretty good. The wait staff was nice, but the food was not great especially for the price.
Great ambiance and kind service. It would have been better if they had gluten-free/allergy free options available.
Very busy and loud on a Saturday night. Hard to get server's attention. But the food and décor were good. Great cocktails. I'd go back when it is less busy. Would like to try more of the menu items. Decent happy hour specials.
Great pre show meal and drinks
The flat bread oven was not working, which limited selection. They apologized profusely. The calamari appetizer was delicious and large. A whole meal. Wine was way overpriced.

Always a reliably good spot for breakfast with attentive service and a varied menu ranging from lighter to heavier options. I've eaten here many times and have always enjoyed the food. The service is attentive without being oppressive and I've never felt rushed or ignored.
was a challenging experience from the very beginning: I arranged a business meeting with two executives, in advance of their arrival, and getting set at the table seemed beyond her comprehension (it took ten minutes and the restaurant was empty). Beyond that, we had to wait far too long for service, repeatedly. I would have given 1-star, but I don't want to seem obnoxious about it. The food was good.
Wish i saved her name, but the waitress was superb and sometimes the service can be spotty there. But the service was spectacular this time. And the food and drinks too.

The food was good. We asked for unbuttered English muffins and they came with butter. It was pretty noisy too. Maybe some nice area carpets would cut down the noise. Other than that, it was fine
Our reservation was not noted by anyone in the restaurant. They did not have a host or manager available to run the floor and since we were six people the servers would not seat us at first. when they offered a table it was not appropriate for a child because it was a high top. My friend walked around the restaurant until she found a table in the back which would seat us with a high chair for the child.
My reservation through open table was useless to this restaurant and I was embarrassed to bring my friends. My friends made the best of a bad experience and we were able to get food.
Food was good to great, came in for Mother's Day between the lunch and dinner rush as I was able to get a last minute reservation. Beautiful and varied spot, very comfortable. Took 10 minutes for someone to come to front of house to seat us. Seated in the back dining room, it felt like we were eating in the middle of a (very loud, very behind the scenes) staff meeting as they were prepping for dinner service, assumedly a large party. Unsure why we were seated there, as the restaurant wasn't crowded at all during this time. Wait staff dropped silver ware on the ground and it sat there for 15-30min. We asked to speak to a manager at the conclusion of our meal and the server was unsure if she was present... and they acted as such.

You would have never thought they’d handle a Mother’s Day event. Who doesn’t know that Mother’s Day is the busiest day to go out and eat. The hostess was never available and allowed checking out hotel guests walk in and take reserved tables. Our waiter was great and after we watched guests get served their meals that were seated after us, the staff figured out we weren’t very happy and did the right thing and comp’d our order.
I did take care of the waiter but my overall view of a Marriott run property was not positive.
Food quality was low, packaged and not fresh. They had to cook my omelette twice because they couldn’t get the ingredients correct and in the end it was still wrong! Never go their again.
My girlfriends and I stumbled into here for breakfast and we're met with excellent service and absolutely delicious food. Would totally recommend to anyone
Great place for business meeting
I feel like maybe they had an off day. We went to Easter brunch at 10am. The service was very slow, and yet they did not seem to be very crowded. We ordered one mimosa and one orange juice. The juice came out fairly quickly, but the mimosa took forever. And by the time our meals came out 45 minutes after we ordered, our eggs were pretty cold. My sausage was cold. And the plate wasn't even hot, so it didn't appear that they sat under a heat lamp waiting to be picked up. Everything was pretty mediocre for an expensive place. I would potentially give them a second chance at some point, but there are so many other great restaurants in the city, that I don't think I'll be going back any time soon.

Flatbread was sloppy but ingredients were good. Service was horrible! Server mixed our orders up, charged us twice and seemed in a horrible mood.
Attentive service, tasty cuisine
The meal was good. The server was friendly. The hostess was not very engaging, but seated us promptly. The music did not seem appropriate for the venue. As an extension of the Mayflower hotel, I thought it would be nicer. Overall, a good meal, but I thought a Mayflower restaurant would have been more.
Crab cake was terrible. All filled with breading and very little crab.
Fairly handsome hotel restaurant. Bar is busy, but tables have good separation for conversation. Server did not tell us you have to order sides - we just got a piece of meat on a plate. Be ready to order, because they will let you sit. Food took awhile to arrive after it was ordered.
This hotel restaurant is kept lively by a very active bar that adjoins it, but that also makes it a little noisy. While the prices are high for most items, they are well within the range one expects in a classy downtown hotel in a city like Washington. Presentation and preparation were excellent and the service was polite, prompt, and well-trained. My wife had sea bass, which she found to be superb. My crab cakes were composed of lump meat and very little filler, but were blandly seasoned and thus were overcome by the robust garlic flavor of the spinach they were on. I enjoyed the spinach and highly recommend it!
Waiter seemed distracted and was slow. Ambience was fun and the food was unique. Bread was amazing. Would have liked fruit with the cheese plate.
Great place for a work breakfast downtown. Service is attentive but not oppressive and the food is served quickly and consistently tastes and looks great.

We had a hreat time at Edgar's prior to an evening at The Kennedy Center. The food was great and our waiter was excelllent.

We chose the restaurant because of its proximity to the National Geographic Museum. We went at a super-slow time, so maybe that's why the service itself was kind of slow. The meal was tasty, very generous portions. Overall, it was a very nice experience.
