I love the hand made flour tortillas with butter! Food is really good but it used to be better. Not sure why food didn't feel as tasty. We had a burrito that had mostly vegetable and no meet.

Mother’s Day Brunch, tables are stacked up to get more people crammed into the restaurant. Focus more on quality of service & food than getting as many people possible into one room. Felt rushed as many items are no longer available for the brunch buffet. Under staffed, took 15 minutes to get asked for drinks & if there was an option besides the buffet. Haven’t been a fan of El Torito & decided to give another shot as I have avoided the franchise for many years due to bad service years ago. Looks like not much has changed 👎🏼

Made reservations and asked for patio seating. Was told there was a Private party taking all the patio. Had to sit indoors. A lot of people were there to eat since it was the Saturday before Mother's Day. Restaurant was crowded for barely opening up from Covid restrictions. Service was slow. Food was adequate. Ordered a combo plate with a Carne Asada taco and barely had any meat in it. Not worth it to return. I'm sad because this place used to be great a couple of years ago.

Celebrating with friends Chose outside for Covid reasons. Very disappointed as ambiance on patio is nonexistent
Although we were seated a little after 4 there was no happy hour menus on any tables outside. I had to ask for them. Service was very slow, maybe because we we almost alone on patio (maybe server was busy inside??)
We had to ask twice for everything from water to napkins and tableware. Never were offered the wonderful house made tortillas. Again, had to ask for them
We ordered appetizers, soup and one person a salad. Everything arrived at once even though we asked for soup to come out first. Had to choose. Did you want to start with soup and eat cold appetizers or did you want cold soup
Have been to this El Torito many times but never ate outside and won’t do it again
So disappointed and embarrassed for my guests

Showed up 10min prior to reservation time. Went to check on status after waiting 15 minutes and was told there was 7 parties ahead of us. Had to wait another 30 minutes. Seems like having a reservation made no difference and we were treated like walk-ins. Not great when you have 2 toddlers.

I have had better service at this location, as the server assigned to our table seems out off when our party asked for non-menu items, i.e. water, chips and tortillas. As well, the taco cart meats were uninspired. I will stick to their weekend brunch, as I have had a better experience with this meal option.

Experience was horrible. The restaurant has completely deteriorated from mismanagement over the years and now it’s gotten so bad that the service matches the extremely dim and outdated disgustingly dirty interior. How bad off are they that they can’t even change burnt out light bulbs or change them with the same color bulbs when they do change them?! The reservation was not honored and we had to wait 30-40 minutes past our reservation time. The booth was gross with food remanence from a poor cleaning job after the previous party sat there. The decoration hanging on the wall above our table had a 2+ year old thick grease and dust layer. Our server took forever to take our order and even longer for the bar to pour drinks. Food came out before the place settings dispute us asking for them while ordering. The whole experience was extremely disappointing. The ET Grill used to be a fun outing that was worthwhile dispute some shortcomings but in a post pandemic scenario the deferred maintenance, lack of staff, inadequate training and nonexistent oversight has taken its toll to the point where it is frankly not worth my time or money.

The last part that completely infuriates me is the disclosure on their dirty greasy menus that haven’t been cleaned.. the disclosure about being a local business and charging a % surcharge due to increased labor costs blah blah.. spare us the theatrics! The audacity to charge a premium for something that all businesses that operate here have to face and do not charge for is completely off putting. The optics are horrible to be putting that front and center and disguising it as because they are a “local” business when their website touts them being a NATIONAL restaurant group: “Xperience Restaurant Group is one of the nation's leading operators of casual, polished casual, and fine dining brands.” Subpar service + surcharge = total rip-off; The whole experience was anything but polished and I will think twice about ever returning.

The food was delicious but the waiter was very slow and un-attentive. I had to ask a bus person for plates and utensils, drink and tortilla refills etc. He was so inefficient, our appetizers did not arrive until we had already finished our meal and he never gave us the free basket of chips when we were first seated. I have to also say it was not the fact they were busy, he was just a bad slow waiter.

I had a reservation for 5:15, arrived at 5:10 and was told would have to wait an additional 20-30 minutes for my "reserved" table. About 30 minutes later was seated. Then told do to their capacity in the bar, I would have to sit in the non bar area, which was fine as long as they still provided the same Happy hour menu. I was told yes. Then when I was seated I began to order the Happy hour items and then told by my waiter that they are not honored in the non bar area. What???? I was just told that I can be seated in the restaurant area (not bar) and still be served the happy hour menu. So again, I had to talk with the manager and he said I would still be honored the HH menu items/pricing. Due to capacity issues. Take it from here....after several many minutes of discussing and now not enjoying my time we were finally accommodated and charged correctly. But the point is, it should have never come to this. NOT going back anytime soon. Why reserve, if not going to honor with reservations. The point is, this was a terrible handling and service issue. Many other details left out due to space/time in this review.

Horrible ! We had reservation for 6:45. I went and checked in and was told will get the in a little bit . After half an hour went to check in for the table , the lady receptionist said I was mad at her . All I asked was how long will it be for the table and we have been waiting already for half an hour. There was some guy who was helping at the reception too. He told me were next and he could empty the table for us . which was totally very rude of him. We never asked for that. After 45 mins of wait we finally left. They texted me after one hour that the table was ready. We are never coming there and will let our friends know about our experience. There were customers after us that were taken before us after they talked to the manager. The reservation was over booked. There were lot of unhappy customers. It was a horrible experience. We are never coming back.

Service was excellent as always. A little disappointed with the meal this time. I ordered Carne Asada and Shrimp plate. Steak was hard as a rock. Not sure what kind of steak it was but was definitely not Arrechera. Shrimp and side dishes were great as always.

Sunday brunch. We were able to get seats on the patio. The inside seating looked a little too packed in for those of us that are still concerned about being in a crowd. If you time the buffet lines right, there wasn’t much of a wait for food. Overall, the food was good and liked the pancakes they brought out to start the meal were tasty.

Havent eaten at this restaurant chain in some time but as I recall from pre-pandemic times, the food was better quality, more self serve options and varieties. A plate of large pancakes was brought to our table upon being seated. Although tasty, it seems the purpose of this general process for the Sunday brunch patrons was to fill up on cheap offerings to minimize consumption of more expensive buffet offerings. The restaurant was crowded, loud, service minimal but overall sufficient. I understand businesses are struggling to survive during these economically difficult times but I feel the quality of the experience did not merit the price. I will not return to this location in the future.

Was celebrating my birthday. There wasn’t an acknowledgment of it or appreciation for choosing to go to this location to celebrate.

Food was decent. Pork was dry and hard but the steak and shrimp were delicious. Table side guacamole portions seems to have shrunk for $13.

Blended margaritas were watery and didn’t have a bite of liquor like the on the rocks margaritas.

Our Server was busy, had ask another passing server for drinks and guacamole. Was told chips are only served in the Bar area and must be “requested.” That was news because I have come there and brought friends three other times. Tortillas are great with dinner but no one eats them as an appetizer, too filling. Love the Food but didn’t care for my selection this time...pineapple does not belong in an Enchilada! Love the Restaurant, will still go. Missed GARY who is a stellar server and host.

Really slow service. No distancing between people/tables even though OC is still at 50%. Food took forever to come (40ish minutes) with no apology or explanation. Place is super loud and they seated us next to a place where waiters drop off used tortilla holders for cleaning. They continually just threw these down which made us jump out of our seat every time. Not the El Torito I remember and never going back.

Been many times, but does time back since Covid a year ago. The service was outstanding. Our server, Adriana, was absolutely fantastic. Attentive, patient, and very accommodating. Making suggestions, and assuring to make anything happen to ensure our dinners were exactly what we wanted. When I go back, I want to seated in her section again.

Unfortunately the sweet corn cake was removed from the standard menu and changed to an individual extra item at $3.50 per order, I like the item but not for $3.50 extra. Also, my server was very slow even though the restaurant was extremely empty? It took 10 minutes from the time we sat down until he finally came to our table. Then, we order two tacos per person but the waiter has to print a ticket for you to take to the taco bar. We had to wait 30 minutes before he gave us the voucher for our food? Service this visit was very poor.

First weekend in-dining for brunch. First problem, despite having reservation, waited 35 minutes before being seated. Second problem, no knives available, no glass for champagne. Drinks were served in small disposable plastic cups. Third problem, ran out of flour tortillas, Fourth problem, stood in line to get fajitas, ran out of onions, no more in the kitchen. Had to ask for cheese, had none. Food was not good, service bad and if I could afford to do a review of this place on TV, I would let the world know how bad the service was. Did not get my money's worth. This place was not prepared to open up for the crowd that showed up . Forget, problem # 5, only 1 line cook preparing meals with long lines. I want a refund

Usually the service is much quicker! I normally go on Tuesday nights or Taco Tuesday! However, I was there on Thursday night with a girlfriend of mine. Business was slow so I can't understand why our server was so slow. We almost just left the money on the table and walked away. He never asked how our food was or we wanted a drink refill. One of my tacos the meat was very rare and I wanted it replaced but I didn't bother being that he didn't come back a second time ask how everything was.
