We really enjoyed our dinner pre-movie at the Electric Diner. The Menù is not huge but the food is great and tasty and the service incredibly quick. There is some background noise but nothing unbearable.
The only negative thing for us, despite we know what are the current restrictions (none) but we are also aware of the current high number of cases it would have been appreciated if the staff would have wore a mask. But again, we know that this is not mandatory it is just that I am not sure I would have come yesterday If I knew it.
For the rest, we really recommend this lovely diner!
Great ambience! Super cool music/vibe. Really good service
Had a great evening on Saturday. Cocktails and food were great with superb service. Only feedback was the tables of 2 are too close together. We usually luck out with the booths and will stick to them in future. In general, great night though!
What a terrible experience largely due to the waitress. She was so unbelievably rude and while we tried to remain patient when she told us, after 30 minutes of waiting to give our order, that the kitchen couldn’t make food for the next 45 min as they had a big order for the cinema. We understand it’s a busy time for restaurants and they are terribly understaffed but that does not absolve the restaurant from treating customers with respect. I have been many times to the Electric and was genuinely shocked and disappointed by this waitress’s attitude.
Felt incredibly rushed through our food, greeted rudely and told we only have 2 hours at our table, food was nice but hugely overpriced, forgot to bring our drinks
Lovely restaurant with a great ambient, very tasty food and friendly staff!
A bit disappointed, food is average, I think it lost its charm. Used to be a fun place, but not anymore. The quality of food and wine is not in line with price.
Always great. Friendly staff, great food, easy atmosphere.
Lovely food and atmosphere.
Friendly staff. Great menu and perfect for children.
Understaffed or poor communication. Incorrect orders received, one order sent to another table. I will come back only because it used to be at a higher standard and maybe it was an off day
The table we sat at was really small and close to other diners. The food wasn’t great and was expensive for what it was. The service we got was great though.
Great place that has an old diner feel with up to date service. The food was great as were the Bloody Mary's (if a little pricey). We had a breakfast but will be back for sure to check out the other menu options which change throughout the day.
Great work.. see you again soon.
Unfortunate experience. Really slow and inattentive service. Took more than 20 mins to be served. Almost felt like it was a chore to serve us and we should be grateful to be there. Food wasn’t great - over salted and bread was stale. Tiny portions and overpriced. Would have said something but we never received a check back and it was a struggle to get the attention of any staff members. Seemed like there was lots of staff on duty but lots of customers waiting for help/service.
My milkshake was half the size of the others I saw around me. Service was not attentive - never managed to get a refill for the bottomless coffee. Hard to catch a waiter/waitress’ eye and when I did I had to ask for the bill 4 times before I got it. The food was good.
Overpriced and tiny portions.
2 eggs and 1 TINY piece of toast is £8?! And to add avocado it costs £6 extra?! Can someone please make sense of that for me! £14 for a very standard fish burger, with no fries! Fries are £6, so that’s £20 for a nothing-special burger and fries?! Honest burger, next door, sells a burger with fries for around £9!
My friends and I ordered main dishes and they were all served on small side plates, not a standard sized dinner plate. That should tell you everything you need to know about their portion sizes.
Where are they getting these prices from?! If they’re gonna charge so much, then at least give customers value for their money. This place is a rip-off.
Firstly, It took ages to get drinks. They didn’t have avocado toast. We ordered vegetarian breakfast, then they didn’t have vegetarian breakfast, then they didn’t have eggs royal as well as fried chicken... they run out of spinach for the smoothies. The menu was super short, so basically they didn’t have anything. You would think they’d offer drinks for free for the inconvenience. They didn’t. The service was slow combined with the fact they had nothing so waited half an hour before leaving.
Service was pretty slow but food lovely. Music a little too loud!
Great food / location. Service is not the best as the wait staff are always very busy but food comes extremely fast.
shame the "all day menu" is only available from 12...
We waited 40 minutes for someone to come to take our order, and another 15 for a coffee. Staff was rude and unprofessional
good food; slow service; music a bit too noisy
It was busy great atmosphere ordered all day breakfast including tea. I was served tea without milk or sugar had to ask 3 different wait staff for the milk & sugar that was eventually served 7 minutes later.
The service was truly awful. We Waited for ages to get our order taken, our food came before our drinks, and they forgot one of the main courses.
Great ambience for Saturday brunch. Always the perfect Eggs Benedict and pancakes served with a smile Thank you
The food was good, but it was hot as an oven in there....
Delicious food, though it certainly took too long for one of our party members to receive her order, especially given it was an acai bowl and it arrived after all our hot foods.
cool old place with the cinema below, nice booths, can see the food being cooked. All cool - no bling 👍 real London
glasses smelled as we were explained water in the glass washing machine was not changed enough at busy times. we received the wrong bill and money could not be refunded in each card used. food was nice. music very nice but a bit too loud to talk.
Great food great service, but music too loud. Will come again
Very very rude greeter, looked at my 2 year old daughter with disgusted when she said hello. Literally one of the weirdest things I have ever seen. We left
local favourite of ours for brunch, consistent service and food
Great food but the service was really really slow.
Great and very jovial, tolerant service for early supper with three children “best chips EVER Dad!” which is high praise indeed fkr 12yo… 👍
A lovely dining experience from the moment we walked through the door. We were treated like royalty by the kind and attentive staff.
The service was a perfect balance of attentive without being over bearing.
Food was yummy! Complements to the chefs!
We particularly like the background music, right up our street!
We will definitely return. Thank you to the whole team for making our anniversary dinner so special *
Amazing food and drinks. Loved the music and kids had the best time. Will defo be back n service was amazing
Service was friendly, but waited a long time for water and my first drink after placing my order - my starter arrived begore my drinks. As someone who works in hospitality, I know this can affect first impressions a lot. Floor staff seemed a bit slow even though at 7pm the diner wasn't that busy, but I think they were gearing up for the dinner service and things certainly did get busier as time went on.
The food was tasty and well prepared; I had a chicken ceaser salad to start (I would have liked to see more chicken for the extra price), and the rib-eye steak for my main course. Both were well-presented and my steak was excellent. Chefs seemed genuinely pleasant and well organised. As this was my first visit, I chose medium, but would certainly go for medium-rare on my next visit.
The wine list could be more accessible by the glass, as my preferred wines of choice were only available by the bottle. Whilst the food was very good, I feel it was over-priced for what I ordered. Still, as I was treating myself to a rare meal out, I didn't mind so much.
Tasty food served swiftly by nice people.
Led to our table and then waited 15 minutes before anyone came over to ask if we wanted to order. We were initially placed on a table with dripping condensation from the air conditioning. We asked to be moved and we’re told they didn’t have any more tables. Then they found a table and we were able to move. We ordered only to be told we were ordering from the wrong menu, so needed to revise what we are wanted. The food came quickly. It was not hot, the toast was tiny and the filter coffee was served with cold milk.
We had to try and catch someone’s eye to ask for the bill. Then took an age to get someone over to actually pay. They were very busy and we understand that. Used to go to the Electric a lot but it seems to have gone downhill. The breakfast was not worth the wait or the price.
Really good food and ambiance
Good breakfast and service as always.
