Great dining experience! Always be my favorite Indian place!!!It was my husband’s first time here and we both Loved everything we had! Wish we could eat more but our stomach were already full from eggplant salad, shrimp biryani and chicken tikka masala. Oh well, we can always come back and tried the garlic naan, tandoori , kabab etc!
Having spent 18 days in states
Was nice to have a change to usual fare
And the curry hit the spot
Not as hot in uk standards , but great taste and would recommend to anyone
The food was amazing.
Ambience awesome. Loved that they offer traditional Indian seating!
See you next month
Likes the food and ambience
Lovely food, fast and friendly service and a good price
I'm sorry to say it but this is a typical Indian restaurant in LA. >>> Dumbed down for americans. We asked for spicy and the food was bland. The tonic in the gin and tonic was the old stale kind at a cheap bar. The atmosphere is dark and the decor very uninteresting. Would not go back.
The restaurant was preparing for a large party, which I didn’t know when I made my reservation. Since the main dining room was reserved, I took a table in the back—which is floor seating. The seats weren’t very comfortable and the carpet was dirty. The servers and staff were all preoccupied with prepping for the large party, so service was slow. I ordered tandoori chicken, rice, and garlic naan. The chicken was OK; the rice and naan were dry. When I asked for my check, it took more than 10 minutes to finally get it. I watched the server run about helping the large party, which had just arrived. Getting out of the restaurant was a bit tight, as the large party filled the front room and the space itself was not ideal for moving about with so many people and a buffet set up. There were guests crowded into the entryway, waiting to be seated. It felt as though the restaurant should’ve closed to accommodate such a large party, rather than other guests being impacted by the slow service and low quality of the food.
We enjoyed our time at Electric Karma. The ambiance was great - it was romantic, intimate, and cozy, but it also had a festive vibe. The food was good - I would definitely recommend the chicken tikka masala, as it had a sweetness in the sauce that was delicious. Some of the other dishes lacked a little bit of flavor, it all together, it was great. We liked the combo platters - a good amount of food for a fair price. We especially liked the chutneys/sauces with the samosas.
Was a little disappointed. I ordered a chicken Korma and was served a chicken Mango korma. They took the dish back to the kitchen and returned with supposedly a chicken Korma. Strangely all I could taste was Mango...
The owner was very courteous and there's a nice ambiance; however it was the owner who admitted, when we asked, that he forgot to ask us for the spice level of our dishes. We ordered lamb vindaloo and chicken curry. The dishes may have been better perhaps if we were consulted & informed about what level of heat we prefer. Our dishes ended up being VERY bland as no level of heat was added of course. The value was NOT there for the lamb vindaloo. There were at best 6 pieces of actual meat (amd the pieces were not good sized) and there were chunks of boiled potato in the dish. Since I don't eat lamb often I was looking forward to actually eating lamb, but felt cheated. Finally, the garlic naan was not garlicky and not very tasty. Plain. Hopefully other people have better luck with this place. We will not be back.
Lovely neighborhoody Indian. Very attentive service and delicious food. We had one person who couldn't tolerate hot spice and they were very accommodating. The food is always good and made with very fresh ingredients.
My favorite Indian restaurant in LA. I’m sure I’ve reviewed before. We always go there.
Always a go-to. Best Indian food in town.
Thank you!!! The food the vibe everything was great and authentic!
Amazing food and atmosphere
Best Indian food in LA, period! Been going here nearly since they opened and the quality has never waned even a bit. That's all I can say. Amazing every time!
Great food! Kind waiters! Will definitely come back!
The waiter recommended an excellent dish ... you can’t go wrong with anything you order, the food and service is always excellent. The owner is a very humble man who cares very much about his Resturants and satisfaction of his customers and is always around to make sure guests are happy! Highly recommend this place for its excellent food, service and an amazing set up !!!! Very beautiful Resturant ... specially with the fountain outside ... love this place!
Electric Karma is hands-down the best Indian food in LA. I first went there when they had just opened years ago under different ownership and was concerned when they changed that ownership a number of years back. But not only did the menu remain exactly the same, but they kept the entire ambience, including the Bollywood films that roll on a drop-down screen at all times.
Pretty much the only place I eat Indian in LA and the only one at this level. That's coming from a New Yorker where we have far more Indian options.
Super cute spot and delicious food. I’m a vegetarian and there are lots of choices. I really enjoyed the decor as well it was nice to have all the Indian touch it. The staff were very helpful and attentive. I don’t live in the area but would go there again when in Hollywood highly recommend it
food was perfect. one plate is good for two. Only complain. The service was too fast. No finished our appetizer that our main course was already served.
This place is amazing. The food was delicious. The restaurant had amazing vibes overall. The service was fantastic. It was vegetarian friendly.
Electric Karma never disappoints. We've tried other Indian restaurants over the years and are constantly disappointed and return to Electric Karma. The service and food are top notch. The chef takes great pride and creating flavorful, delightful dishes with fresh, natural ingredients. This is our go-to spot for delicious Indian cuisine. Accept no substitute.
Love this place! Food is delicious and service is good! Decor is fun and festive to make for a complete package!
Service was very attentive and the food was delicious!
We really love this place – the food and ambience and service are always wonderful. The only problem this time is one of our number really cannot tolerate spicy food, so we ordered everything very mild and those among us who like spice could add sauces to taste. Unfortunately, two of the main dishes came a little spicy. Other than that, everything was delicious.
The service was terrible. The waiter took our order and then left + forgot that he took our order. He did this when we were order water upon seating, he did this when we ordered our meal, he did this when we ordered wine and then finally when we ordered desert...
The food wasnt really worth the headache and it was off. When I say off, I mean that it tasted inconsistent than other places though its the same thing
Great food. Worth s try.
I loved this place! Their staff was wonderful, very helpful and even accommodating. The food was delicious!
The place is beautiful as well.
The food was excellent, the vibe and decor of the restaurant really gave that authentic feel!
Will definitely go back!
Been here a bunch of times and I keep coming back! Great atmosphere and love the music! Friends are always pleased when I bring them here
I took someone there for a birthday dinner. We arrived a few minutes early, but it was empty. They were very kind and accommodating. They did sort of rush us out so they could close though. The food was alright. I also specifically requested a birthday dessert and they brought the dessert without acknowledging the birthday, which was a bit disappointing.
The food wasn’t that great, the service was poor, the ambiance n theme were okay, soon as we sat down in a prime area of Beverly Grove area to see Like 20 yrs old 99 cent Only plates with chips broken off made the whole experience sour didn’t recover from that point.
This place was very good! Luckily I had a friend who is very familiar to this cuisine and I was able to order a delicious plate.
Great service even better food. My partner was pleased. They told me they never had Indian food before and were surprisingly pleased.
We’ll try to come back
Love this place, I take everyone who visits here! Food is always so good, warm and comforting, service is fast and the ambience and Indian music/movie playing adds a little something
Terrible - food wasn’t fresh and service terrible. We won’t go back.
Some of the best Indian food in Los Angeles! Wonderful menu with options for everyone. Very friendly service. Simply delicious. Love this place!
Nice place with a good ambiance
Love this place! The food is great, the ambiance is very inviting and comfortable, and the staff really look after you. Took my girlfriend for her bday and they really treated her right! It's my new go-to Indian place!
