Nice place in London Bridge. Decent wine list, and their chips are so good!
Very nice restaurant, covered by young people, seasonal food, creative kitchen, experience with spices and herbs, the share plates we mostly used if we 4 or more people.
Went here on a date and everything about Elliot's was fantastic. From the delicious food to the friendly staff. Would definitely return.
We are regulars at Elliot's when we go to productions at The Globe or Sam Wannamaker Playhouse.
We can sit down at six and the staff/kitchen do everything to ensure we are out by seven. The food has never disappointed us in the several years we have been eating at the restaurant . Always fresh, endlessly interesting and fantastically constructed sharing plates arrive from the kitchen in a joyful stream.
The staff are attentive, engaged and knowledgeable about the food they are bringing to the table. Atmosphere lively, possibly one less table in the line of tables for two at the back of the place would give one a little bit more breathing space but hey that is a minor detail!
We have also spent much longer over dinner and at lunch and always thoroughly enjoyed our time at Elliot's.
Delicious food in the form of a mixture of sharing plates complemented some lovely wine by the glass. Recommended!
Meat was a little tough. Expected more for the price we paid.
Nice place great staff good food shame about idiotic rock soundtrack completely unnecessary and makes me feel like I'm in Nando's.
Had been dying to try this place for ages as I work nearby. It did not disappointment. Fun friendly staff, delicious food and varied menu. Great location. Will definitely be back.
Great food - sharing plates full of seasonal local fresh interesting ingredients. Lovely small space and informed helpful staff
I probably went ten times already and never was disappointed. Food is creative, market sourced and fresh, menu changes daily and always has lots of options. Wine list is focused on natural wines, many options by the glass, carafe and bottle.
Well presented, fresh delicious. Lovely staff. Great place
The 1st time we ate at Elliot's was on a Monday night and I was very impressed. Even though the portion size is small, the food was excellent and we had good service. It is an expensive place to eat but felt the price on that occasion was, on the whole justified . After such a positive experience I took a friend - this time on a Friday. Disappointingly some of the dishes were not so flavourful, but what really let the experience down was that while everyone was polite and reasonably attentive, not one of the staff smiled all evening. It took all the warmth out of the experience as it looked as if the staff would all have been somewhere else. It left me feeling a little disappointed. The prices charged can only be justified when both food and service are good
This is a casual looking place, but don't expect to have a casually priced meal here. Whilst the prices on the menu don't particularly offend, the portions are about a third of what you would expect. This is (essentially) an overpriced British/ modern European tapas place. Expect to spend at least £30 per head on food only if you expect to leave full.
Also, it's very noisy. I keep forgetting about the portions here. I don't think I am coming back.
Cheese melts to die for. Service was a bit slow, we were there for 15 mins before a drink arrived and they kept topping up our sparkling water with still. Other than that very good, will assume service was a blip and will try again.
Met at Elliott's for a reunion of work colleagues and we had a great time. The food was amazing and the house red was exceptional. Will definitely be back.
Good location and nice restaurant. But pricy for what it is but good overall. Would go again but not for a special occasion.
Four of us shared 12 tasting plates and two bottles of wine - the Faugères was particularly good - and there was excellent cooking here. Highlights included the venison ragu pasta, crab toasts, pickled mackerel, comté and Stinking Bishop soufflé, and the mallard. Friendly and cheerful service with a bright but relaxed ambience made for a joyful midweek treat.
I don't often right reviews but Elliot's really is a bit of a gem. They seasonal produce inspired dishes are always put together well with great flavours and decent potions. The hake with cauliflower and curry butter was outstanding. Need the recipe from the chef as it blows mine out the water
Second visit and what a positive surprise. We first visited Elliot's for brunch shortly after it first opened. The experience was such that we never returned until now. What a miss. It is an intimate place with reasonably creative food that is well executed. Even the all organic wine list was interesting and contained some real gems. The service stood out particularly, friendly, helpful and competent.
This is a terrific unpretentious restaurant offering high quality, thoughtful food, beautifully presented and mouth-wateringly tasty.
Third time here for lunch. Love the food and location! Will definitely be back!
also vigilant about tending to our needs - firstly on aircon/temperature, and then basically helping us order while we were a bit fluttery distracted by each other.
Thank you! What a magical date :)
1. We were not advised in advance that burgers are not on the menu at weekends. We went for burgers.
2. We wanted to cancel our final course well in advance of its arrival. We could not.
3. The credit card machine was not working. I had to leave the premises in search of cash. What would have happened if I was not carrying a suitable card? This was expected of me and no gesture of goodwill was offered.
4. There is an optional service charge of 12.5%. This puts customers in a difficult position. I actually paid it.
5. I have never in 58 years criticised any establishment on a public forum, but feel I really should in this instance.
This is the fourth time I've been here and the fourth time I've thought, ' great food, great buzz, shame about the service.' The people are friendly, but there is too much going on in a small space, and I think it must feel less like busy and more like chaotic to work there. We had to ask, after waiting for a good while, to order a drink - it didn't arrive until after the first two dishes?! The food was fab, as ever, but we were well into the meal before the bread arrived - no apology. I will go back again, but be ready to order a drink as soon as I sit down, and ask if anything on the menu is already limited in supply, as two dishes we really wanted were off the menu by the time they got around to taking the order. OH!! I also had to ask for cutlery, as the table hadn't been laid properly...
In the heart of Borough market, this bustling little place offers great food. And natural wine, including the rare Orange wine. MY only gripe is that the tables are far too close together - not recommended for a cosy date and certainly not a first date. I really hate that London restaurants insist on squashing people in like this.
There were 3 of us and we had wonderful service, good explanations of menu, superb selections of wine and absolutely delicious food. A bit pricy but worth every penny. Would definitely recommend to friends who enjoy food.
Used to be a lot better but now just mediocre.
The food was good but nothing outstanding. Not a cheap place to eat. very good service.
I went with a friend to Elliot's for lunch. I'd been a couple of times before, but not for a while. The choice of dishes was great - we went for four plates which was plenty for two of us. The staff were really friendly without being 'matey' and very knowledgeable about the dishes and the wine and there was a good buzz in the room even for a Tuesday lunchtime. The food is incredible - seasonal, inventive (beetroot and cherries were a taste sensation) and really, really tasty. I won't leave it so long to go back the next time!
Wonderful and exciting food in a relaxed atmosphere. Wonderful service and a fabulous wine list.
Elliot's is, hands-down, my favourite restaurant. The food is always exceptional.
great, delicious, inventive food. super friendly service. my fave restaurant in the borough market area. get the burger.
Very good night. Barman let me try three draught beers and explained where they were from and what to expect. Chose a completely different one that I was going to have and thoroughly enjoyed it.
when the waitress came over, we asked a few time with explanations and she was brilliant, knwew about the food and how it was prepared and how it came.
Exactly what you'd expect.
Had the most amazing steak and wine combo. Our waitress made the entire experience more enjoyable. We sat in the booth seats which was slightly too squeezy so I suggest you to pick the normal seatings. Otherwise, it was a lovely night.
I come here every few months. They always have a different menu, with good, fresh ingredients and I'd particularly recommend have several of the small plates to share.
The service is not as attentive as before and the food also not quite as delicious as it used to be.
I booked Elliot's for my 30th birthday meal - slightly apprehensively as I knew it would come with a hefty price tag and my parents / husband / sister were taking me out. Overall we had a fantastic evening - great food, great wine, great atmosphere. We were there until late and had a blast.
I would have liked it even more if there had been good wine choices under £40 per bottle (or if the wine list was on the website so I would have known what to expect), especially when the red we chose was pretty cold at first. Also, for the prices charged, I would expect proper napkins rather than paper and cleaner toilets. We also had a rude waitress which affected my enjoyment a bit but I have to say the other staff more than made up for her - all the others were wonderful.
Overall, I recommend it if you are prepared to let go and splash the cash. The quality is great and the food is inventive (puddings are amazing!). Sometimes you just have to ignore slightly terse waitresses!
I had a lovely leisurely lunch with a friend that lasted well after the restaurant had closed and we were still looked after very well.
I was on a 1 day trip alone on London. When I got to Elliot's the crew immidietly took care of me, even before they were opened (I errived a bit defore the opening). The food was outstanding and the waiters made me almost forget that I was traveling alone in London.
Fantastic food and superb wine. I highly recommend for a group of friends on a Saturday night.
