Food was outstanding and restaurant is super cute.
Only disappointing part of the night was at the end when we were the last table (we did not have an exceedingly long dinner, just happened to be their last reservation) and the staff started vacuuming the dining room to break down faster.
We were a 9:15 reservation on a Friday and they take reservations until 10:00. We shouldn’t have felt like we had to chug our coffee and get out!
Nice place - 2nd time I’ve been there
Service a bit sluggish but very good and attentive once we got the attention
Food was excellent
Bread was average
Went out with a friend to have some apps and drinks. All was well, would go back again.
Tables are too close. Noise level too loud
Food was very good; service was friendly and efficient; fried oysters the only small disappointment; though a little expensive, really nice place - just a little loud w the Saturday crowd
Great food but tight space and very loud. Still worth it though.
I would recommend this restaurant;
It is the first time that both my wife and I had extreme difficulty deciding what to order as so many choices sounded excellent.
Great food and excellent atmosphere.
Our only complaint is that the crab cakes were not make of lump meat. They were still delicious however! The food is always high quality as is the service.
Always terrific It is small so make reservations
We love the Fried oysters and swordfish.
Always good...fish specials are great as is the service :))
Always looking for a great restaurant for fish, the Elm Street Oyster House appeared on my Open Table list and we're glad! Saturday night found a crowded bar and full dining room. Special Valentine's day menu! We had the Lobster Bisque, which was superb. The Lobster roll was excellent (with fries of course) and the Branzino wonderful. A bottle of Gruner Vetliner complimented the fish well. Chocolate mousse with vanilla ice cream for dessert - amazing. Service at all times very attentive and professional. Highly recommended.
The Paella was superb. One of my best ones ever. The blackens swordfish and the Halibut were very good too.
Having discovered that my 6:30 reservation at another Open Table restaurant had not registered was lucky to find this one saving our Valentines Day dinner!
As noted everything was great.
The only reason we don’t dine here more often is that the tables are so close together negotiating to and from them is always a challenge.
However you cannot beat the food or the service
Food was excellent, service was good, table were a little close together which made it a little noisy. I would eat here again.
Another lovely dinner at Elm Street Oyster House. One of our favorite restaurants.
Good for every dining, date night or a special occasions. Delicious food! Lovely, atmosphere.
Great place near home! Even better in summer.
Our second visit, once again served well prepared seafood dishes. This visit was a little too crowded and noisy for our comfort, but service was good.
Great food, great service, just a little too noisy for me
Although you sit elbow to elbow with other diners, the food is consistent time and again.
Seating for 2 was very tight with center tables in the dining room less than 12” apart. All good otherwise.
Delicious seafood and professional, friendly service.
I had a Caesar salad with pan fried oysters that was to die for. My wife had a crab meat special with Jack cheese on an English muffin, also excellent. The servuce was attentive but not obtrusive. Noise level was quiet, but the restaurant was only 1/2 full so I can't say how life if would be when full.
Food was delicious and service was great
The food was excellent, the service was great. My only real complaint is that it's rather loud and I had a hard time hearing our conversation. Despite that I'd happily go back any time.
Great food. Great staff. Always feel welcomed
cozy dining area with interesting decor. Seafood lovers rejoice
Based on our last experience, I would not recommend ESO to a friend. We had not been to the restaurant in several years and were excited to go back. In all fairness, it was the Sunday night at the end of a long holiday break but the service was underwhelming.
My wife and I have been to this restaurant many times. For Greenwich, CT it is excellent as most of the eateries (in the city center) are rather average in the Elm St. price point range. It's far better than most of them. I ordered the Manhattan Clam Chowder. It was tasty yet thin and there were many more potatoes than clams in the broth. I followed with a shrimp Po'Boy served on a soft baguette. There were but 4 smallish shrimp that were mildly spiced. The faux Mexican salsa was on the bland side. The french fries were crisp and fresh. My wife liked her fish and salad starter but was unenthusiastic. My glass of Rose was refreshing. What saved the meal was the pleasant and efficient service and friendly atmosphere. We certainly will come back. A. Morse
Went for New Year’s Eve and was glad to see we could choose what we wanted. Even happier to see one of the specials was lobster thermadore. Don’t see it on menus very often. Everyone was pleased with the delicious food. It is our go to fish restaurant. Always fresh!
We love everything about Elm Street. It is our favorite restaurant in Greenwich.
My neighborhood go to for great wine, great oysters and of course Elm Street Bistro fries!!!
I had a great leisurely lunch despite jam packed holiday room.
The food was deliciously presented with twist of flavor, and service was efficiently at ease but responded to every need.
A pearl nestled within the oysters of restaurants on Greenwich Avenue.
Very cute and comfortable place. Service was wonderful. A bit pricey but I would definitely go back.
Always consistent and good
They had lobster Thermidor on the menu. Spectacular. You don’t often see it and I can never resist when they have it. As usual their fried oysters are mouthwatering. Never disappointed when we come because the food is fresh and well prepared
Food was delicious!
Lobster Roll was very disappointing. The “roll” was wet with butter and greasy, but the lobster had no butter on it. It was also pretty small compared to other lobster rolls in CT. Red snapper was nice. Nothing particularly special, but very good. Mignonette with raw oysters was classic and on point. Bottom line: Do NOT get the lobster roll.
Very cramped, too much inconsistency with the food, some hot others cold and the servers were too eager for you to leave so they could use the table for the next guests ... would have given less stars but the appetisers were very good.
We were pleasantly surprised at our experience at the Elm Street Oyster House. It was very quaint and we had the best sword fish ever. Wished we lived closer as we would be back often.
