Eat here often and love everything about it!
I have nothing more to say
The fried oyster's appetizer was so delicious. I was expecting the usual fried oyster but these were fried and coated with a buttery sauce back in it's shell. The seafood is very fresh here. A bit pricey compared to other nearby seafood places but the fish is so much better here. I had the pan seared halibut with bok choy and asparagus. Delicious. Can't wait to go back.
We have eaten here many times, but this time the special of soft shell crabs was very mediocre. The batter had mostly fallen off and it was not crispy. Oysters and clams always great
Will try another time- - hopefully it will be better.
Will return every time we are in town. Still the best chowder. Hamburger was a beautiful thing for one none seafood guest.
Another guest , vegetarian, put together beautiful “side” choices on one plate. Perfect.
As for seafood, you will be in heaven.
Go & enjoy yourself & bring friends along.
Food was sub par. Oysters good
First time we’ve been here in a while. Very nice to return. Our wine was excellent! Gazpacho was outstanding, the pulpo was good. The veal Milanese was outstanding. The crabcakes were OK; I prefer lumps of crab rather than all mashed up. Looking forward to returning!
The restaurant smelled like mold. The food was poorly prepared and arrived luke warm and tasteless. I usually don’t write reviews but I was so disappointed in this restaurant that I wanted to make others aware that this is not a good place.
Nice restaurant. Nice food. Nice, nice, nice. Not exciting. Good fish. Modest portions. Pricey
Can always count on fresh fish and delicious meal!
Excellent staff. Very accommodating! Food was terrific
Food was very good, as usual. Wait Staff were excellent. Maybe it was because we went very late, but it was very noisy.
If you are not a regular, they ignore you. Won't be back
We have been going to the Elm St Oyster House for several years now. We never get anything but an excellent meal and excellent service. If you haven’t been you must go
Food so so. Very disappointed.
I have been here before -this night the service was not good and it was not even crowded.
but the food is always excellent.
Consistently excellent food. Love this place.
The menu choices and food quality are excellent. The service needs a vast improvement.
Great casual restaurant for excellent seafood.
Wine selection is also very good
If you like hanging and eating at the bar, this is the perfect place to do that
Excellent food and service. Paella was amazing! Great value for quality of food.
Food was great. Staff was attentive and inviting. This would be a definite recommendation to friends staying in the area
Great restaurant. Food and the service was top notch. Definitely going back.
Made a 715 reservation for a table for 2 and was sat at the bar. Host appeared to have given away our table to people who arrived earlier with no reservation. Drinks were okay- loaded with ice so very little for the money- , it took 3 margaritas to equal a camparable at Le Fat Poodle. Had crab guacamole- no crab flavor, barely any meat, soggy/ oily chips layered in. Cold lobster roll for dinner, no seasoning, no crunch- bland and boring. Fries were drowned in truffle flavor, cheap novelty for an overpriced meal. Dessert was a chocolate cake that was microwaved before us by the bartender. Worst part was they started turning lights off at 915- I guess they don’t respect patrons wating to finish up the over priced meal/ drinks that were paid for.
First time here... wonderful... great atmosphere, great people and excellent food
The food is always fabulous at this restaurant. And when you come on a Sunday, the wine is half off, a real bonus. I just wish this place was closer to us.
Great fresh seafood
Service was poor. Rushed us. Rude.
Wonderful start to finish. Fresh cold oysters. Entree special was yummy. Service and attention spot on thank you.
Been here many times and it is my favorite seafood restaurant. No competition in sight. You can shoes yiur fish, select the way you want it cooked, and choose the sauce or seasoning. Or you can choose from among their special preparations that include daily specials. Side dishes are very varied and each is excellent as well. Wine list by the glass is much larger than most restaurants, even larger establishments, and well selected. Service is also excellent and do look up at the deep ocean murals that adorn the high sections of the wall. If bar service is your aim, then that is there, too, as is the wide selection of oysters, in addition to other seafood, on the menu. Enjoy!
The food was amazing and the service was great but the place is very small and there was a party of six that was so loud and noisy that you could not enjoy dinner. The staff should have asked them to calm down. My wife and I could not stay for coffee and dessert because I had a headache from all the noise.
My boyfriend and I had a nice date night while visiting Greenwich. I started with a basket of calamari while he started with little neck clams and blue point oysters. We both couldn’t help ourselves but order the crab cakes and apple fritters for our main course and I had a glass of Pinot Grigio. Wonderful atmosphere and fantastic food!
Great food. Tight small space. Deafening noise.
A lovely Fathers Day dinner. Bottles of wine 1/2 price as a nice surprise
Best restaurant in Greenwich.
Usually eat outside so can't speak much to atmosphere although it is usually noisy inside. But the food is beyond good. The swordfish is to die for. The cheese grits are so tasty and the broccoli rabe so fresh and tender, the best I've had. Service is attentive and informative. I love coming here on a sunny afternoon for a great meal and a glass of wine. Extensive wine list by the way. Great every time for a foodie. Love it and I rarely give 5 stars.
Food and service disappointing. Would not return or recommend to friends.
The food was outstanding. I expected good, I did not expect great. The service was top notch.
I hadn't been to Elm Street Oyster House for a while and was looking forward to it. I was taking a friend who had not been there before. ESOH did not disappoint in any area. The food is fantastic; the service impeccable; and the ambience is wonderful. We had a totally enjoyable experience and my friend raved about the place. Can't wait to go back again.
We were passing through Greenwich and stopped here for dinner. We really enjoyed our appetizers, especially the crab and guacamole appetizer. We also had the lobster watermelon salad was yummy but the presentation was a little uninspired. For the price I would have thought they could have given me fresher mozzarella. My husband enjoyed his fish dish, I forget the kind of fish it was but it was breaded in cornmeal. Very flavorful. I had the paella, which is always risky. Definitely not a true paella but it was full of mussels, clams, shrimp and lobster.
Unfortunately the restaurant was pretty dirty. After the family next to us left the staff just reset the table leaving the fish and fries on the carpet to stepped on. The bathroom was disgusting, really didn’t feel like eating after attempting to use it. Bus station was a mess too. Made me worried about The cleanliness of the kitchen.
The food, the service, the ambiance was outstanding. Perfect start to the weekend!
