Emerald Loop Bar and Grill

Fairly disappointed for myriad reasons. The biggest issue was the service. Our server looked like he didn't care very much and was generally clueless. What was on tap? What would you recommend? How about stopping by once every 50 minutes? Little to nothing. We asked for him to get someone to change the channel right in front of us (some idiotic dram was on when the NCAA tournament was in full swing). Nothing. Asked another totally different server who got a manager to change the channel. FINALLY. Then two minutes later--it goes back to the same ridiculous drama. We gave up. Our server then brings our food--oh wait..no. He brings us a random appetizer which we didn't order. Then INSISTED to my wife that she had ordered it. Really? Upon telling him directly we didn't order an appetizer for three times, he then double checks his ticket, and we see him deliver the order to a table three tables over. No apologies, nothing. Astounding! Our meal was *meh* at best. Brisket grilled cheese might have had potential, but was delivered cold. The cheese wasn't even melted anymore but had solidified into something plasticky. It was like they wwere waiting on an order of fries--which were scalding hot but not even cooked through. P.S. Meal was delivered. Zero silverware. Zero napkins. I had to actually get up and snag them from a work station by the bar. My wife and I are rarely able to go out, and this was a huge disappointment as we are always up for an awesome Irish pub. Service and quality destroyed any chance we would even think about coming back here with a thousand other better options out there.

Great food in a fun, authentic Irish pub setting. We had the corned beef sandwich and Guinness beef stew. The stew was fantastic! We didn’t drink, but they seemed to serve up a fun cocktail menu as well. Great little stop in the Loop if you are looking for that Irish pub vibe.

Emerald Loop always makes my Irish eyes smile! Great food - seriously, the brisket grilled cheese with the tomato bisque soup is possibly the best dish in the city. Great service, clean, friendly - a taste of the motherland right here in Chicago.

The pickles don’t taste like pickles 😂 that was a waste but everything else was amazing. Loved my server, tall dark slim guy, he kept checking up on us, he was polite, paid attention in terms of refills etc. he did great.

Service was excellent and when me mask strap broke, the waiter brought me a replacement mask. Loved that!

First time trying an Irish Pub. Decided on the fish, pretty good with the malt vinegar. Restaurant is a little noisy but not unbearable. It became very crowded fast so the server was not available or attentive.

Slow service, mediocre food, overpriced, and they don't serve tap water.... you only can buy water bottles. Add to all that a customer that got hostile and loud (so the police were called), and it is needless to say we will not go back.

This place was awesome! The service was excellent the drinks were amazing.

We were provided with excellent customer service from the gentleman that took our order and our food was delicious! We will be eating here every time we visit Chicago. Thank you! 10/10 recommend visiting this gem!

we sat outside. noticed the server was doing an excellent job with safety. really conscientious. she also handled a couple loud person just hanging out by the restaurant. she was wonderful. i wish I had her name. I'd return just for her great service. oh. she also signed me up for their rewards. perfect server!

Food was good & our waitress was very nice and made good recommendations! Restaurant was very empty for a Sunday night and the only downfall was the music was too loud.

Family brunch celebration for husband's birthday

Very good food and decent prices! I had the brisket platter and the meat was cooked perfectly. More than enough for one person and the cole slaw was delicious!

This place is fine if you're looking for American style Irish good, however, they were not super accommodating to plant-based eaters. I tried calling ahead to ask what plant-based options they had in addition to the Beyond Burger and was hung up on when the woman went to go ask the chef. I'm guessing she tried putting me on hold but hung up instead. Once we got there and I asked the waiter my questions, he seemed a little annoyed and finally came back with only half my questions answered (the gluten free bun is plant-based but he didn't ask about any of the others). Overall, it was a fine place for a double date with non-vegan friends, but I'm not sure I would personally go there again because of their limited menu.

Our server created a memorable experience. The food we ordered was great and nice portions. We will return. Thank you.

Very disappointed, as this place was highly recommended. Arrived for a reservation at 5:30 and were seated promptly. The waitress placed out orders, table of 4. There was an extremely long wait for the appetizer. Once it arrived, the food came 5 min later- minus one order. The waitress forgot to enter one of the orders. My order was incorrect as well, nothing fancy- just a turkey burger with mushrooms and cheese. The turkey burger was missing the mushrooms and was unbelievably dry with no sauce. The waitress apologized and offered our friend several options to help remedy the mistake. We were offered 20% off our entire bill. Our waitress felt terrible for the mistakes and said it was her second night. From that perspective, she was set up for failure to have an entire section on a busy Saturday night. No excuse for the food issues- blah!

The staff was welcoming, friendly and attentive. Good variety of food on the buffet. Will definitely go back there again!

Excellent food options for our whole family, which includes two vegetarians.

This is a very good casual food option before going to the theatre, very good food in a very comfortable setting. Friends were also presently surprised for this very economical option in what could be a normally expensive dining area.

Our food was terrible. It was cold and looked as though someone literally dumped a can of pork n’ beans on the plate for their “Irish beans”. The food was overpriced and our dining experience was very disappointing. I would not recommend it.
