It was our Anniversary no one made any note of this
Despite rather open /not full restaurant we were seated right next to a party of 6 (they were not terribly loud but we should have been seated on the other side of the room, behind the wall) - also the wall paper was splattered w brown spots — very distracting w stains — as we were right up next to it. Gives me pause about a revisit. the entire back part of restaurant(when coming from outside door) had only a few couples and a few at bar — we should have been seated there for better privacy/quiet atmosphere. Our waitress was lovely and attentive and I suspect she had no idea Re anniversary — but m’aitre de should have known at check in — why ask on reservation if there is no acknowledgement of this? He was not friendly or happy- at least that was my perception
Food great - not inexpensive
It seemed they may have been short staffed but that didn’t interfere with them providing excellent service one bit!
It was our daughter’s 40th birthday and they made her feel special! They brought her dessert with a lit candle, a birthday greeting in chocolate on her plate and smiles with best wishes!
The food was exceptional and it was enjoyed by our party of three. We all ordered French 75’s to start and then vodka gimblets. The French 75 were off a bit. None the less it was a perfect dining experience. The hostess/ waitress even offered to keep our daughters floral arrangement in their cooler while we were next door at the Del Monte Spa! Which was greatly appreciated!
Thank you all for a lovely time!
The mahi sandwiches were very good but the corn beef Ruben was not so good. The corn beef was somewhat tough and not of great quality. Service however was very good as was the overall ambiance.
I’d hesitate to go back. Server acted a little put out that we were there. They seated another party right next to us (lots of other options) and they were NOISY! And the seating is ridiculous—low benches and chairs that made me feel like I need a booster. The view was beautiful and food good—might stop for a drink but would think twice about dining there again
Four of us dined at the Erie Grill earlier this week. A Monday evening, actually, and we were surprised how many customers there were. The place is beautiful and appealing. Our waiter was excellent - attentive but not in our face. The food was excellent - two had swordfish, one chicken cutlets and one cioppino. The only area that wasn't perfect was the noise level but after a bit that receded. We could always carry on a conversation. The view of the canal is lovely! We all agreed we'd come again!
Food was great but my service was horrible. I left feeling very unsatisfied due to the all around poor service from our waitress.
Great food and atmosphere as well as service
The ambiance and service were great, as was the price point for a quality brunch. Erie Grill continues to remain at the top of my list of places to dine for brunch, lunch and special occasion dinners!
Lunch has become very boring, very few items in the menu and tedious. Dinners are better so is brunch, the lunch offering is just taste less.
Beautiful setting - especially if one faces the Canal.
Drinks were very good, service was attentive.
Food was variable - pork chop was excellent, meat loaf somewhat starchy, somewhat dry (needed fattier meat?)
Panna cotta was more gelatinous and less lemony than I had hoped.
Prices were high-ish.
It's noisy during happy hour.
Went for a birthday with my wife.
Bartender very engaging and made excellent cocktails.
Very nice interior/ decor. Service was excellent and food was fantastic. The angus strip steak was more expensive than some places, but it was so good it was worth it!
We'll be back!
The food was good to meh. The coffee was pretty lousy. The smoked salmon was excellent. All else average. Food was not hot when delivered.
Ambiance deserves a better restaurant. Hope they upgrade soon.
My wife and I had a reservation. We were seated in the bar next to a 3 very drunk men. We could not carry on a conversation and were very disappointed in our dinner. The food was fine but we did not finish it as the ambiance was horrible. When we left there were many tables in the dining room available (not sure why were were stuck in the bar area). While we were leaving we heard the bartender offer up another round of drinks to these 3 men. This was our third time staying at the hotel as we were traveling. We will not stay then again. Very disappointing dinner out after a long travel day.
Excellent quality, very good table service. Unique dinner specials, great salads
great food, excellent service. Our waitress was very attentive the food was well timed.
This was our first time coming to Erie Grill but it will definitely not be our last. Absolutely everything was wonderful and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, quiet dinner spot with great service and food.
Great place for drinks and appetizers, but not for dinner. Service was slow, many items forgotten. Very loud and some tables are basically sitting right on top of each other. Duck meatballs were amazing, as was the meatloaf. Stay away from the seafood.
It's not just energetic but too loud when you are trying to dine as the bar crowd is way too loud (some idiot woman screaming) and then when the dining are is full, there is nothing to absorb the noise. Also, I don't appreciate wait staff dropping the dirty dishes into the area where they will be taken to clean. C an't they just lay the dishes in there without dropping or throwing them in. This a higher price, classy restaurant and those types of sounds sound not be happening. Especially is you are sitting near the area.
A pleasant lunch on a beautiful sunny day so people watching walkers and bikers on the adjacent canal path was fun. Friendly server with prompt service. Interesting menu and food was tasty and well prepared. Not too busy so noise was not a distraction.
Our favorite so far in the Rochester area! Great food, service and such a pretty view. Looking forward to dining there again soon.
$1 Oyster day. Small oysters, little brine. Have had other deals similar, much better product. Chicken dish was average at best.
I had to send my Eggs Benedict back twice. The first time it was because the eggs were hard. The dish looked like it had been sitting under the warmer too long. The second time the hollandaise sauce was watery as well as the eggs very hard for a benedict. I was very disappointed.
Great service. Food was incredible. Great ambiance.
Great location by the canal and stellar service. Great work!
Consistently great food and service. We travel to Pittsford a few times a year and the Erie Grill is always on the agenda.
Can't wait to go back!
Great food, lovely view (if near the windows) with a very reasonable price point. And if you can't find a dessert item to your liking on their menu, pop over to Pittsford Dairy for ice cream or any of their assortment of pastries!
Our food (3 salads) took a very long time. When it arrived the server said it was because we asked for substitutions/additions and that took awhile to enter into the computer... We each added goat cheese to our salads and one was asked to leave out the quinoa. Should not have taken 50 minutes. They were delicious but it made us late for our next event
The halibut with pepper risotto was fantastic. Great view of the canal and dessert cocktails were an excellent ending to a lovely dinner. I would come back
Bacon in BLTs was pure fat!! Other choices were not very good!! We were not offered other choices. Otherwise the waitress was very friendly . It was cold and noisy . Would not go again.
Great service, suggestions and the food was fantastic. We shared three plates and all were perfect to split.
I've been to the Erie Grill numerous times. There is one particular waiter who has a major case of passive aggressive behavior. I love the food and the place, but cringe every time he is my server. I don't think I'll be going back, for dinner at least.
Retirement lunch for a friend
One of the best meals I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. Excellent food.
Enjoyed our meal tremendously, steaks and lamb chops were perfectly prepared
, delicious and nicely presented. We were lucky to get a quieter table as noise from the bar can be intrusive. Marnie, our server, was excellent and attentive. Wine at $5 glass special was a bonus.
Good, but not great experience. Sat by kitchen entrance. 👎🏻 Came for Monday Night Oysters only to find out they were sold out by 6pm... but then found out some other ‘regulars’ called and ordered them before their arrivals so even though they arrived an hour+ after us they were able to get them. Off putting was our general feel from this as we were out to celebrate and came there specifically for them. Also it was way too loud considering most tables around us were not seated until later in our meal. Server was pleasant, but slow to get us started.
Fantastic food and service!
Our server was very attentive. The food was delicious. Unfortunately, we were seated in the bar area and my husband and I couldn't even hear each other talk. We were there celebrating our anniversary and his birthday so it would have been nice to have been seated in the dining area where the noise level would have been much less.
Your female bar tender staff is sensational! they suggested reasonable wines I didn’t know being a Californian ...and even where to buy... I am taking the Sheldrake Rose home!!
The ricotta pistachio appetizer is sex...
The chicken Milanese w panko is the best I have had anywhere and I even make this for my dinner parties.
Clever menu. My all time favourite restaurant in upstate NY
I forgot my server name. She was excellent. The food at Erie Grill is always good.
