The service was awesome and the waiter was very accommodating to us when we requested to mov our seat due to the rowdy and loud birthday brunch next to us. Great food, great mojito pitcher and a great value for an NYC brunch!

Charged $50 for a pitcher of mediocre sangria for two people. Didn't bother to tell us how much it would when we ordered. Chips and guac were very mediocre.

Way too expensive given the portions and quality of the food. Food took forever to come, very lackadaisical service.

Cons— Chose this place for a dinner with an old friend based on the reviews on Open Table, but ultimately I wouldn’t recommend this place. The service was slow and inattentive, so much so that we spent more time waiting for the check (and reminding the waiter to get the check many times) than we did eating or ordering. It was also quite muggy and hot inside because the windows were completely open and there was a hot summer thunderstorm, so we felt kind of icky. The weather obviously isn’t the restaurant’s fault, but it would be nice to have some sort of fans or air conditioning in the summer.

Pros— The food was decent, the vibe of the restaurant was cute, and happy hour goes on til 8pm.

Food was delicious and service was good, but the brunch pitcher of sangria was so weak. Even after they added more alcohol kindly for us, it still tasted like cranberry juice.

Fantastic time as always at Esperanto! Still one of my favorite places in all of NYC. It’s truly a neighborhood gem. Just bring the feijoada back please!

Nice restaurant and the food was quite good but not remarkable. Very tasty guacamole. The volymer was to high for conversation with morse than one other person

It didn't matter that we had a reservation, they had no seats available for us and were kind of rude about it.

Wonderful experience for all after NYC Marathon for family group: 4 couples (3 runners). Even with various dietary needs, all were satisfied between the late Happy Hour menu to start, and many delightful dinner choices. A winner!

Esperanto is a neighborhood gem - small, authentic, and delicious.

The Chayote Salad was amazing, and the Moqueca with shrimp was so delicious.

Please try the sangria and the fried yucca - yum!

I came for Sunday brunch with my friend Maria. I had the Eggs Benedict, she had the Brunch Kale Salad, and we shared Pao de Queijo and Fried Yuca. Everything was fresh and tasty. The best part was sitting outside and enjoying the breeze on a beautiful summer day. And the iced coffee comes in glass jars, which is super cute.

I’ve been several times, and while I love Esperanto, tonight the food just didn’t cut it. The moqueca was delicious but the feijoada let something to be desired. Usually thick and full of flavor, the feijoada was watered down, runny, and significantly less flavorful than usual. Drinks took forever, and the bill included a charge for two drinks we didn’t order. Maybe it was just an off night?

Had a small birthday dinner here. The food was phenomenal and the mojito pitcher was one of the best I've ever had. There was live music as well. Towards the end of our meal, the staff brought out a complimentary coconut panna cotta with a candle on top, and passionfruit gelato, as well as some sparkling wine. I had not expected this at all and was very pleasantly surprised. The staff was also very attentive and nice. Can't wait to come here again!

I came here with some friends that were in town for only a few days and the world cup was on so the vibe was very fun. The waitresses and waiters were very attentive. The food was good, similar to other latin cuisines I’ve had before. The 90 minute unlimited drinks deal during Sunday brunch was well worth it so give it a try if you like the drinks on their menu. This is also a great area for bar hopping and there are lots of young people in the neighborhood. Oh, and the place was super cute too.
