to start with they didnt have my booking registered. This was my favourite Indian restaurant that we were coming back for over a year since first found it. Tonights experience was horrible. I brought my mother to try Indian food for the first time for her, and I choose to bring it here as it was my favourite place.
I agree place was extremely busy, however, the quality of food was something appealing. Onions starter was burned. My dish I always ordered tasted so bad, that I had to return it. When I addressed issues, waiter handled the situation very badly, his attitude was so bad. I requested to take one dish I couldnt eat off the bill, and he started arguing and fight that i already ate half of the dish. Ofcourse I did ate maybe 1/3 of the dish otherwise I wouldnt be able to say that it was made wrong. The idea is if I would like badly cooked Indian food, I would just do it at home.
I lost trust in this restaurant and its a shame but definitely not coming back.
They appear to manage toptable bookings separately so there was no table for us on arrival. We had to wait 20-25 minutes for our table which on a Tuesday night, with more than 24 hours booking notice was a bit much.
Lovely low key restaurant with great vegetarian and vegan options. Papdi chaat and potato dishes were our favourites!
Had a lovely meal with friends and service was fantastic.
Was closed at the time of the reservation so we had to eat elsewhere
Nous avions réservé pour la soirée de en Noël via votre site avec une réservation confirmée et nous nous sommes présentés à l'heure et avons été refoulé car ils ne servaient plus à cette heure ! Honteux
Interesting and unusual dishes, different from the usual Indian restaurant affair. Service was good, food came out promptly but we didn’t feel rushed. And prices were very good value compared to most other restaurants in the area. A great find and I would definitely return and recommend!
Very good food and friendly service.
Very good masala soda and well spiced food. In a very secluded location with a calm atmosphere. Food reasonably priced, but wouldn't go for a G&T as drinks a little expensive. A pleasant experience.
Excellent meal with great value and would definitely go back. Really fresh ingredients.
Very tasty food and a nice atmosphere. We had a quick meal here but could definitely stayed a lot longer.
Great restaurant, very clean, food is very fresh and flavoured. Can’t wait to go back.
Great service, superb food
Been here twice and it never disappoints. Ideally located on Bankside and staff could not be more helpful the kitchen provide some dam good food as well ! :-)
Yummy Indian food. Could have had a bit more spice, but everything delish, and price reasonable. A few unusual items too.
Great food. A little difficult to find. Comfortable environment and nice relaxed but busy atmosphere.
Will definitely be back.
Food was exceptional, especially the kebab platter and chicken korma were amazing. Quite hidden and would not have found without a recommendation but definitely worth a trip.
Great! Will go back
We were a group of 4 friends celebrating a pregnancy, a wedding and a friend being back from Australia for the first time in almost 2 years!
The food here wasn’t too bad and the decor was lovely it’s just a shame that the service was so shoddy.
My friend who was first to arrive was glared at by a waitress and when my friend said she had a reservation the waitress just pointed to another member of staff.
We were all seated by 6pm and twice tried to order a drink but were told we had to wait for our own waiter - it was 6.30 by the time we got to order drinks.
Despite being so late taking our drinks order so late after our arrival our waiter was definitely the best one there (that’s not to say he was good but just the best of a bad bunch!
If the food was amazing I may have been willing to look past the service but 2/5 is a very fair rating which we all agreed on!
Second time I have been. First was excellent but sadly this time was not. Lighting a bit too dark and food was very average (although peshwari naan was good). For a large bill I felt it was not justified this time.
Another excellent meal here, been a few times now. We would certainly return again for another visit. The biriyani was a particular highlight, and the other dishes were good too, although puddings not great and served in their packets. Service was slightly too slow/inattentive but overall a great meal.
Really nice restaurant, staff polite and friendly from start to finish. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Was a great little find and will visit again
The menu offered a wide choice . The service was good helpful and quick. Food was well presented and very tasty, well flavoured.
The restaurant was spotless and staff friendly.
we were going to the theatre and will certainly return in the future
Angenehmes, nicht zu lautes Restaurant mit gutem Service und leckerem indischem Essen in gemütlichem Ambiente!
Awesome food. Beautifully prepared.
A tried and tested regular with great food and service to go with it.
Average and adequate food. Nothing stood out other than the garlic naan, which was excellent.
This was not our first visit and it will not be our last. Fabulous food, service and ambience.
Great food, and friendly ambience. My guest and I went with the expectation of a good curry and the opportunity to chat. We hit the jackpot as soon as we entered. Friendly and unfussed, with some wonderful choices of food.
i will continue to order takeaway from Est India but i do not plan to revisit. despite the amazing food and good ambience, there were only two waiters waiting tables in the evening and probably the kitchen was understaffed too, resulting in extremely sloe service. The waiters were polite and attentive but they did not have the capacity to serve all the tables. The restaurant has nice decor and ambience but the lighting could be slightly brighter. The food was tasty and i really like that we could try many dishes because of the options to order smaller portions for many dishes.
Great food and service! We will be coming back...
Excellent food and service
All the food needed more chilli heat and salt. The Dosa was very good - the lamb was tender and succulent as were the tandoori lamb chops but the Chicken Tikka Massala was rather sweet, lacked punch and an artificial red colour. My friend from Switzerland enjoyed which was the most important thing.
Absolutely lovely food very nice staff reasonable priced for saying was in London I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely return when we are back in London
We arrived really early and were kindly welcoming with a table ready in few mintues.
I am a big fan of Dosa so I am always looking for new venues with this treat. The restaurant looks great, nice exotic decor, clean and dimmed lighting.
Service was extremely great and the food was stunning. I will go back with friends.
Superb menu, very relaxed atmosphere and great value for money. Will definitely be returning!
The restaurant was pretty quiet when we arrived at 7pm, but was very busy later on. We will definitely continue to return for future visits – our favourite Indian restaurant in the area. The Palak Lamb was a particular highlight amongst the food, and the other dishes were all consistent and tasty. Service was ok, slightly slow at times and needed to try to attract waiters' attentions.
Dined solo, enjoyed the food, seemed a nice, modern Indian place.
Just because you learn I'm from the US doesn't mean you need to go on a multi minute rant about Trump though. If I had been looking for company from the waitstaff, that'd be the last topic I'd want to listen to. Unprofessional and awkward, and out of touch with the rest of the experience I had there.
A friend and I had an enjoyable time and very tasty food at Est. India. We felt welcome and not rushed. The veg biryani was very tasty as was the spicy paneer and tarka dahl. Was a bit noisy, but this is typical of London restaurants. Would go back.
We came here pre-theatre, and the food was terrific - especially the dosas, which were AMAZING! One of these would do for lunch, but we shared one as a starter, then moved onto a lamb dish (can't remember what it was, delicious though!) and the methi chicken, which was pretty good too. The vegetable side dish of cauliflower and peas was lovely - I could have just had that... But go for the dosa.
