Had a wonderful 80th birthday dinner with my mom at Et Voila this past Saturday. Both the rabbit and the stew were marvelous, as were the hors d'oeuvres. Dessert was sweet and lovely - but I'm not really a meringue fan so not perfect. When in doubt, stick to chocolate!

Excellent meal. Seated on time with a knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful server. Dishes (Pate, Duck Confit, Short Ribs, and a couple of desserts) were all outstanding. Plan to return.

This neighborhood gem has changed over the years. You now walk into a crowded bar and a line of people waiting to be seated. Despite a reservation we waited a 1/2 hour to be seated. We were given a glass of perseco while we waited. Once seated the mussels were as delicious as I remembered .

After being introduced to this restaurant some years ago, I've taken other friends there and the whole experience has always been positive plus. It's a true gem of a restaurant and I plan to go back many times in the future. I have no doubt that the other appetizers are great; however, I"ve always ordered the endive salad and never disappointed. The mussels in four different offerings never cease to be extra delicious. This restaurant deserves the top rating of Washington establishments

Such a wonderful place, with wonderful food.
It could be a lot better if they weren't stingy with 5 oz wine pours by the glass, and included half-glasses as an option.

When I got the message that they had the cassoulet and foie gras on their specials I made the reservation immediately. It’s a dish not to be missed when they have it in the winter. We also had the escargots which were prepared perfectly and the sauce did not hide their taste. Service was great as usual and it was a perfect way to officially start my birthday celebration!

Very attentive service for a surprising bust Sunday evening meal. we met an old friend who is a bit of a beer connasuer, but refraining due to crab restrictions. That being said, the beer selection is OK, but not fantastic for a Belgian restaurant. There are others in the DC area with a wider selection.
Our friend had the pate appetizer which was good. I had the Chicon au gratin; also good, but a bit lacking on the chicon and overboard on the bechamel. My wife had the salad ans an app. Also tasty.

I had the entree special; the cassoulet. Good but not the best I've had. It was a bit salty. My wife had a salad and frites... (she is a vegetarian, so not beaucoup choices on the menu for her). Our friend had .................................... something..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

We celebrated a family birthday on Jan. 18, 2020 and every moment was memorable -- wonderful food, lovely attentive service and lovely ambiance. We started with the pate, beet salad and endive salad, all of which were delicious. Two of us chose the mussels, which were perfectly done and served steaming hot. One chose the Norwegian sole, which was meticulously deboned by our waiter, and was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. A final course of profiteroles ended the dinner, and they were drenched in a luscious chocolate sauce. A great way to celebrate the passing of another year!

A (not so) hidden gem that always delivers! Perfect for everyone, but especially those with a discerning taste for authentic French/Belgian cuisine. Everything is expertly prepared and served by a top notch staff that is professional and enthusiast! It gets busy sometimes, but it’s worth the wait. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and it just keeps getting better!

GOOD FOOD! TOO MUCH NOISE!
The food at Et Voila is very good. It Is a cramped and vibrant neighborhood restaurant. Very lively! However one person’s “vibrant” atmosphere is another’s conversation-blocking loudness. The mussels steamed with endive and cream with sweet potato were outstanding. The portion was so large that I could not finish. My friend enjoyed the salmon. Deserts at a nearby table looked lovely, especially the profiteroles ,but we were too full to try it.

Love Et Voila!!! The food is prepared so beautifully and there are so many great dishes to choose from. I have been coming to the restaurant for many years. It was a favorite of my Mom's. My only only compaint, was that there was only one size (5oz.) for a glass of wine, which didn't seem very generous for the price. I would suggest offering a 6 or 9 oz. size glass of wine. Otherwise, everything was great!

This is our favorite restaurant for any special occasion. The food is always good especially the mussels that you can’t have any where else like this... the escargot is very good too... perfect season! The service is excellent! We’re celebrating New Year’s Eve tonight and all the dishes are very special and delicious especially the venison cooked perfectly... I believe we have been here about 10 times already and the restaurant never fails us... we never come back to any restaurant more than 3 times but we love it here and feel like at home ...

This review pings Open Table as much as Et Voila. I opened my Open Table App at 6:40 pm. Open Table offered a table at 7:15 Aand every quarter hour thereafter. I took 7:15. We arrived exactly at 7:15 to find the establishment packed and overflow lines waiting for a table. Our reservation was on Et Voila's computer but so apparently were several others for more or less the same time. Everyone seated was having a good time apparently and tables were turning over very fast. We had to wait about 45 minutes. Et Voila's staff tried very hard to keep us happy offering prosecco on the house. By the time we sat down our party had consumed more than a bottle of prosecco.

By the time we sat down, we were done for drinks though we each ordered a drink because we felt bad. Et Voila was out the cost of the prosecco and lost the sale of one more drink per person for the evening.

On the way out, EVERYONE apologized over and over again for the inconvenience. Good on them!
