Evelyn's Cafe Bar
The Daisy has recently launched in the basement and is open for pre and post dinner drinks Wednesday through to Saturday with entertainment running on Friday and Saturday from 7pm. You can always book ahead to avoid disappointed for the bar at thedaisynq.com.
Piccadilly station is a 10 minute walk up Dale Street, head towards the Arndale Market.
Lovely meal, food was lovely but portions quite small!
Service slowed down dramatically when they got busier, we waited 15 minutes before I asked someone to remove our plate when we had finished eating. Just simple things like these leave a lasting impression and can so easily be avoided. Especially as the staff were serving a table less than two feet away from us!
Service was fantastic, cocktails were excellent and food was delicious. Faultless!
As a vegan, the host was incredibly attentive and asort out which wines from the list were vegan. My friend and I had a leisurely meal and despite the restaurant getting very busy, we were never made to feel like we had to rush to leave. This is a gem in the Northern Quarter.
Great place for Brunch the only downside was that I went their to try the Shasuka and it wasn’t on the menu, the coffee could have also been hotter when it arrived other than that it was great and I would go again
An enjoyable meal, great food and drink, nice service. My only issue is that the music is louder than it needs to be so you have to talk louder.
2nd time I've been, the food was lovely again! Definitely recommend the Sunday roast dinner. It can be a bit noisy but great atmosphere.
As always, great food, service and atmosphere!! Family favourite!
evelyn’s is so lovely, ambiance is great and the food is outstanding!
Brilliant service and atmosphere. Food was incredibly tasty, perfect for Sunday dinner!
Fab attention to detail and really friendly staff!
Love everything about Evelyns; its my go-to breakfast place in Manchester.
Service and friendliness of the staff is a particular highlight in comparison with other places.
Only snag is portion size on some options. One piece of toast and one egg was a bit tight. Ended up ordering more toast!
The food is phenomenal. The host was very friendly and had a relaxed approach- i like to not feeling rushed. It can be expensive but its worth every penny. Overall an amazing experience. Thank you.
Amazing as always :) tried the Sunday roast this time which was delicious and well priced! 😍
Absolutely loved our meal here - every element was great
Went to Evelyn’s on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, vibe was okay service fine, though a long wait for food delivery
The food itself was ok, decent enough not spectacular, not disastrous but quite pricey for ok.
Maybe try it one more time on a quieter day and see if there’s an improvement
Great food, shame about the service, the dish was amazing
Ticks a lot of boxes. Real crowd pleaser... Even when the crowd is pretty picky.
Great buzz to the restaurant on a Saturday night, staff were friendly, attentive and informative.
A varied menu with a slight leaning towards Asian flavours but none of the dishes that we had were particularly hot (spicy). All the food was delicious.
Plenty of Gluten Free options and some of the dishes that aren't listed as GF on the menu can be adapted (ask the staff for details).
We arrived half an hour early so we waited in the downstairs Cocktail bar with a DJ playing laid back tunes.
Thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely be back.
Always reliably good, went to their new bar in the basement ‘The Daisy’ before eating. It’s lovely, complete with DJ but the drinks took way too long, 30 mins + for two cocktails, which meant we were late eating and then late getting to the gig we booked afterwards. Food is always excellent the only thing is the menu rarely changes and only a couple of veggie/vegan options if you want hot food. These are minor things though and it’s always the first place I bring people if I have guests visiting.
Evelyn’s doesn’t disappoint - always consistent, menu changes regularly and it’s imaginative, tasty and well thought out. Always enjoy a trip to Evelyn’s.
Excellent food and service. Love this cosy restaurant. Perfect.
Fantastic atmosphere and the food is amazing! very very tasty! staff are very friendly and helpful. Makes such a difference !
Amazing last minute booking for quick dinner prices so reasonable for the quality! Can’t wait to go back!
Great location and interesting menu and food options!
Gorgeous food, lovely decor and atmosphere. Would definitely go again when I’m in Manchester. Recommend to anyone who likes lightly spicy food, coconut or Asian style foods, but also just generally good food, burgers and chips were also lovely.
Excellent food, service and reasonable prices. Cocktails are very good! It can get quite noisy so be prepared to speak up! Not recommended if you are soft spoken or have guests who have hearing issues!
Enjoyed our visit, food was nice although we had to wait quite a while and some of the items on the plate were cold [fried egg with Steak meal]
Four of us had lunch at Evelyn's Cafe Bar in celebration of my daughters 21st birthday. The setting, ambience, service was excellent. Food and variety and presentation of cocktails was lovely, the only negative is the portion sizes area bit on the small side for the price. My daughter and myself are vegetarian and was pleased there was a good choice. But a great effort was made in providing a birthday cake for my daughter. I'd mentioned that my doesn't really eat cake it was more a token gesture but the chef made a hummingbird cake which consisted of fruit and nuts and decorated it with edible flowers and a piped number 21 in the middle and edged with frosting and crystalised nuts. Delicious :-). All in all a lovely lunchtime meal for my daughters 21st
The servers were attentive but not intrusive, very friendly. The room is beautiful and comfortable. The food was good.
We had an amazing evening! Great cocktails, wines and food was great! Service was relaxed, efficient and friendly! Only negative was they'd run out of the delicious desserts!
Not a good start, none of the wines on the menu available! ? ?
Only had a choice of two wines both expensive for what they were!
Even if you are sorting out the wines, YouTube a restaurant you get it sorted for your customers, not impressed! Which is agreatshame as the food was very tasty, very enjoyable
What a find! Great food and lovely staff. We will be back!
Lovely food, good selection on menu . Friendly , attentive staff, could fault it.
Awesome place. Great atmosphere, service was outstanding, great food with an inspired menu. Will definitely make a return trip.
Food is fresh and delicious. Great coffee too.
We were doing a food trends tour and Evelyn's has been recommended to me many times so we added it to our list. As it had been a long day, we asked to change our reservation to a later time, and were very happily accommodated.
Went back an hour later. Place is really nice. Very cute, informal but very nicely laid out, with a lovely atmosphere. Greeted really well and were looked after. We were given a choice of where to sit, which really appeals to me, so we chose beside the kitchen.
As we weren't overly hungry at this point, we decided to share a starter and a main. Evelyn's knew we were on a food tour so had also mentioned previously that they wanted us to try their tuna poke. This was also given to us with our starter. For me, I'm afraid it was a bit too salty, which was a shame as these flavours (tuna and avocado) are really fresh. Chef also sent us out two different chip flavours - both delicious.
We really enjoyed our experience there but I think on really hot days, the wine definitely needs to be colder as it tastes so much better.
Chef was great and kept checking we were ok. He was also very encouraging in recommending other dishes for us to try on our return visit.
I will definitely be back as the staff were fabulous but I'll make sure I'm hungrier the next time.
The cafe is really nice on the eyes. I didnt visit during a busy time so the atmosphere was relaxed. Can I just mention the food is amazing! Me and my partner opted for the sunday roast. All the meat is halaal so you can pick any of the roasts. I went for beef my partner went for chicken. Food was great and their homemade yorkshire puddings are so tasty. Price point is about right for central manchester. I feel maybe more veg should be included in the sunday dinners and also larger glass bottles of coca cola used to make it well and truly worth the price.
Great space and atmosphere.
Half of my group really enjoyed their food.
Vegan options need serious improvement.
They said they’re working on it - and I would like to return if they get it right.
I have been once before, and enjoyed the food then. My only quibble is that I found my (satay) chicken a bit too charred for my liking. A friend I was with also found that with her chips. I would have also liked a dressing with my greens, although they had a lovely texture.
Great food and service but portion sizes could be bigger. For £6.50 I expect more than one piece of toast.
