The George hotel is a beautiful 400 year old hotel, currently only used as a restaurant. Taken over in 2020, the restaurant is tastefully decorated, adourning wonderful photos of chepstow through the years. The menu boasts an array of fabulous dishes, from the traditional 'pub grub' with our 2 for £16 menu, to our in house dry aged Steaks, cooked to perfection by our chefs or brought out to you on our signature sizzling hot stones. Fabulous once again for a little family get together. Food was fabulous … Me and my son attempted the butchers block together but it defeated us the lamb chops , chicken gammon and sausages were beautiful , there was a very large rump steak and personally I would have been prepared to have paid a bit more for a smaller sirloin as it is a leaner cut and the pork chops were ok. My wife had the steak and ale pie which was fab and the chicken gyros pitta to start which was beautiful. Amazing quality food , service second to none and a great atmosphere 10/10.

All in all, pretty good lunch. Nice to see some light options on the menu. I had the cheddar and ham sandwich, generous portions. I appreciated the fact that there were zero alcohol larger on draft.
