Best Fine Dining Restaurants in Pontypridd

Can highly recommend Janet’s , the food is delicious we have never been disappointed each time we have been .

My husband Gordon and I booked a table for 7 of us with our family and our friend , to celebrate Gordon’ s retirement, and also our kids and partners new jobs . This was our second time at the restaurant, and every time we have had fantastic food and service. Most of our table chose the Festive sharing menu which was good value for 3 course meal , and they all said our stunning the food was. Our Australian friend Sharon and I chose the Clementine and duck salad as a starter , then miso cod , teriyaki Salmon , chilli noodles , spiced greens as a side. The salad was huge , really one would have been enough for us to share !. The miso cod was exceptional and the salmon lovely. My husband, Our kids and their partners said the same about their food, just stunning flavours. Service for drinks and food was efficient and well organised and the lady that looked after us was lovely. We will definitely be back .

It was my first time at the restaurant and it was overall a great experience! The staff were welcoming and the atmosphere was warming and festive. They had loads of delicious meals to choose from especially the Christmas dinner option. My three friends had the Christmas Turkey Dinner but I chose to have the Pork Belly with mash potatoes and veg. My dish was beautifully presented and the taste of the food was amazing, it was a shame there wasn’t any sauce on the dish and the meal was a bit more in price compared to my friends Christmas dinner but their portion sizes were much larger than mine. When it came to desserts, because my main dish was on the smaller side I was still wanting a dessert but when I was given the dessert menu they were all dishes that weren’t to me or my friends liking. They were serving desserts like “lemon tiramisu, cinnamon swirl cheesecake, Salted Caramel Profiteroles and Eton mess Sundae etc. Unfortunately they had nothing like chocolate cake or other classical desserts so we all had to skip the dessert. The restaurant was clearly very popular by the crowd inside, I was a bit squashed between two other tables and had to ask other guests to get up so I could visit the restroom which was giving me airline vibes. Finding the restroom was a bit difficult because of no signs to show you where to go, I had to ask for help off a guest due to staff being off their feet. I would definitely revisit but I wish they had a better dessert menu.

A fantastic experience all round, from food to the service and to the settings and vibes. We were a little late but rang ahead to advise and they were perfectly accommodating and understanding with no issues. From the very first seconds of being there, it felt like there was nothing that couldn’t be done for us and it stayed like that for the entire evening, despite having to service a huge table of around 20 and the bar as well. We’ve recently just moved to Cardiff and have struggled to find a standout roast but we will now be having a fixed abode here, the food really is that good. And at fantastic value too with 2 courses for £30! We even asked for extra roast potatoes as we were a party of 5 (including toddler) and we were supplied another small bowl without extra charge. I could go on and on but honestly we couldn’t fault anything with Silures and we will definitely be returning, excited to experience it all again.

The food in this Inn is what I would call real pub food and it is excellent value, it does REAL chips. It`s a bit noisy now and again particularly when there is a family occasion but just find a table a little away from them as the lounge bar is a large area. If you are of a certain age they provide a Seniors menu , slightly smaller portions but for the price you pay excellent value.I must give a mention of the staff who are excellent NOTHING is to much trouble for them and they are always friendly and helpful even when they are very busy.
