The Ivy in Birmingham has long been my favourite restaurant to go to with friends. The menu is always first class and the service and mood when you eat there is uplifting. Yesterday was no different.

We had lunch here and sat in a window seat facing Edmund Street. The AC was a bit too cool for our liking but as we were settled we didn’t ask to move. We ate off the A’la carte menu which we réally enjoyed - a starter and a main - my wife had rice as a side and me a plain naan bread- the naan was exceptionally thin and had holes in it. I raised the issue with a waiter and he said it depends on the naan you ordered and that thin ones were better! Don’t expect much change out of £100 for an A’la carte lunch.
