Returning for a second lunch at Kiln in Ouseburn proved that their high standards are no fluke, delivering another exceptional midday meal that matched the brilliance of the first. Every dish arrived with the same vibrant, Middle Eastern-inspired flavors, precise seasoning, and careful preparation that made the initial visit so memorable. From the satisfying plates to the charming setting, a second trip confirms this spot as an absolute gem that easily maintains its first class quality.

We had a lovely experience at Hinnies. We are not from the area and had travelled here for a concert at the playhouse. The food was very tasty, everything on the menu sounded good, it was hard to choose. The cocktails were also really good and the service was excellent. Two friendly waiters who couldn’t have been more helpful. The restaurant has a lovely vibe and atmosphere. It was a weekday and the restaurant was busy which is a good indicator of its reputation.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meals: peach and lentil salad and Camembert were both superb starters. The fish stew main was excellent as was the steak-frites. We enjoyed a carafe of house white. Our waitress, Alex was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. She was efficient and very cheerful! We were seated upstairs which was pleasant but not quite as atmospheric as the restaurant downstairs.

The ambience is really nice. The staff are excellent. The food is lovely. Could not fault anything.
