Best Healthy Restaurants in Chinnor

A picture perfect vision of English countryside dining. Not your typical ‘pub food’ but re-imagined classics served with local ingredients and a lovely touch of modern creativity. We went on a sunny Saturday summer evening and the terrace was buzzing a great family and community feel. Staff was wonderful as well, very much recommend this place!

Superb service and great food in a wonderfully peaceful location

Lovely gastro pub, in Fingest, a picturesque Chiltern Village in the Hambledon Valley, close to Henley on Thames. Had the weather been better, the garden at The Chequers would have been ideal for drinks or a pub lunch. We ate indoors, in the restaurant, which was quite busy, as you’d expect on a Sunday afternoon. Good food options on the menu. Roast beef with all the trimmings. Vegetarian Wellington and Eton mess for dessert. Not the cheapest Sunday lunch I’ve ever had, but the food and service were worth the price.

Perfection from start to finish. Wonderful atmosphere and friendly service, relaxed pace, each dish better than the previous. By far the best meal on our trip - my daughter proclaimed the duck entree to be one of the best things she’s ever eaten. And special kudos to the kitchen for delivering hot courses that are actually served hot and on warmed plates. Highly recommend!
