First time eating her but it definitely won’t be the last time The food was delicious! We had the crab hard boiled eggs, olives and duck mousse to start( I don’t like duck but I loved this!) Then I had the butter leaf salad and the squash blossoms which were so good! I would definitely order these again( maybe even a double order of squash blossoms-they were that good!) My husband has the crab cake which was all crab no filler! The best we’ve ever tried! Next we had the frito misto definitely shareable and fried so lightly ! Not oily very very good and he had the tile fish , absolutely delicious!! We Ofcourse had the have dessert The beignets were so light and fluffy and the sauce Devine! And the chocolate pots de Crème was decadent with the homemade toasted marshmallow!! And the cappuccino was so good too! Can say enough about food and the service was great ! Kind and friendly servers Definitely worth the drive to Greenport !!

We met friends who were passing through on their way home from vacation whom we hadn't seen in a year. We arrived early but were seated promptly. A lot to catch up on, but the service was nicely paced: we were never hurried, but we never really waited to order or for service. Food was great. We had quite a range of things--salad, mussels, risotto, trout, steak, mushroom croque monsieur (or was it madame?)--and we left feeling we had eaten well. But the French bread is so good we might have been happy eating that all evening. I passed on desert only because no one else would indulge, but plan to go back for the chocolate mousse some day. We had cocktails and a few glasses of wine, all in about $75 a person before the tip. I thought it very reasonable for a restaurant of this quality. Highly recommended.

This restaurant is an exceptional fusion of Cypriot, Greek, and French cuisines. The marriage of flavors and culinary techniques is beautifully present in every bite, with the chef creating unique and elegant presentations of familiar favorites. We opened our meal with a Roasted Eggplant Velouté, which we used for dipping our bread and how delightful it was! As a Greek, I have enjoyed eggplant prepared in countless ways, but I had never experienced anything quite like this. It was creative, comforting, and completely unique, and immediately set the tone for what was to come. I had the Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Truffles, and it was truly remarkable. Every bite was a little bit of heaven creamy, rich cheeses enveloped by perfectly crunchy toasted bread, with the earthy truffle adding another layer of flavor. It was accompanied by a cauliflower velouté for dipping, which beautifully balanced the richness and sweetness of the cheese with the distinctive earthiness of the truffle. An inspired combination! The service complemented the food wonderfully. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, checking on us several times to make sure everything was to our liking and that we had everything we needed. Of all the restaurants in the East End, I think this may have just become my new favorite. It is absolutely worth returning to again and again. A very special thank-you for the kindness and attention shown to my 96-year-old friend, who was absolutely tickled pink by her meal and the experience as well. That extra care did not go unnoticed and made our visit even more memorable. Wonderful food, thoughtful service, and a truly memorable experience. See you soon!

It was our first time dining at The Essex. We will most definitely go back. The food was amazing. Flavor combinations that I would not have thought to put together worked well. The Beef Wellington was exceptional! It is a bit pricey, but worth every dollar. The restaurant is small, with lots of attention to details. Service was spot on. We highly recommend The Essex!
