This restaurant is bloody closed. It's an empty shell. Why would you let us book here?! It doesn't even exist. Just a sign above nothingness. Very disappointing. Apparently - the neighboring businesses tell us it's been this way for some time - trusted open table to help us on our holiday and feel betrayed.
Closed down. Yet OpenTable still booked it.
This branch of the chain is no longer open and bookings should not be taken anymore! Staff at the Borough market branch were helpful when we went there after turning up to a permanently closed restaurant on South Bank.
Super uncomfortable, extremely slow service. We had nearly two hours before a show and thought we’d have loads of extra time. We ended up having to rush to the theatre! We had to ask twice for everything we ordered, notably my glass of wine that was poured and left on the bar getting warm for ten minutes before I had to ask for it to be brought over! Wouldn’t go back. The only thing that made it tolerable was that we had 50% off!
Great food! Shame that the waitress rolled her eyes when we asked to use a tastecard.
The food was excellent. The service was a bit slow
Solid enough. Food was decent and genuine: real sashimi and tightly wrapped rolls. Service was okay - food was quick but took half an hour to pay the bill. Was on a table near a door but was near a window. Decent ambience. Not cheap but worth the genuine food. Not the best restaurant in the world but I'd go again.
I had been meaning to try a Feng Sushi for a while but never quite got around to it. I am very glad that a friend from the States popped up and liked the idea of sushi and natter.
Make a reservation!! This branch is tiny and being across from the Royal Festival Hall is busy as well.
We ordered a plate at a time which meant the all was as fresh as it could be. The sushi was lovely and the tempura a treat. Our only disappointment was that they were out of mushrooms.
Good food... wasn't great compared to last time. Need more staff as there were only two waiters and they seemed flustered and rushed off their feet.
Good value And great for a quick bite along the South bank
Friendly waiter. Better than last time that we went and were given terrible service by one of the waitresses.
This time was redeemed by a lovely waiter. Food was gooooood.
Feng Sushi does not exist. There is a Yo Sushi at this location, but I did not want to eat there.
I left the area tired and hungry - wishing I had not used this booking service.
The woman at the welcome desk was extremely unwelcoming and unfriendly. Waiter was friendly enough but got our order completely wrong. Food good as always.
We booked this to celebrate my husband's birthday, after seeing a play at The Globe. It is nice to have a Japanese restaurant open on a Sunday evening as very few are. We had an enjoyable walk there from The Globe. The staff were very friendly, service was efficient and the food was nicely presented and tasty. My daughter liked the fact that you had a good selection of vegetarian options. I hadn't seen the restaurant before so it was smaller than I imagined and the ambiance wasn't as I expected it to be. It's an ideal restaurant for pre or after theatre snacks or a quick supper. However not recommended if you are looking for a more formal dining experience. However we enjoyed the food and husband enjoyed his birthday! Thanks!
Overpriced restaurant with surly service and mediocre food.
We ordered Miso soup and a mix of Tempura, Sushi and Sashimi. The Miso soup and the Rock Shrimp Tempura were excellent, the sushi and sashimi were generally satisfactory but the yellowtail sashimi was awful & not fresh.
Ordered a starter and mains, the miso soup with one of the mains came out first followed by the starters. Then literally straight after the mains came out, so said we wanted to eat our starters first. Mains were taken away after finishing the starters the mains then took a while to come out but my katsu chicken was the same that was brought out as there was a skin film on the curry sauce and the miso soup was then luke warm so was big great to go with the sushi as was not hot.
Staff are not attentive so would not recommend this restaurant for the service or food.
As when I mentioned that we wanted to eat the starters first when she brought out the mains she proceeded to say you should have said when ordering. If there is a starter section which we ordered from I would expect the starters first then the main after or the waitress should have asked.
Good food - Relaxed and informal - Conveniently located. Good portion size. Chicken Katsu curry is excellent. Will visit again.
I won't come back here. The restaurant did not feel very clean. The waiting staff were not friendly and the food was average and abit pricey for such average fare. I used my tastecard and even if it says my deal should be 50% off, it ended up being about 30% off. They charge extras on the actual bill price. Not interesting.
Tasty food, spot on service. We were running a bit tardy and called to notify the restaurant. Was told no problem, take your time and travel safely and we will hold your table.
Quality of food is good, albeit service and atmosphere in restaurant where not at satisfying level.
Was disappointed in the service - staff were visibly talking about customers, whispering to each other then looking across at people then laughing. Made us feel quite uncomfortable. The tip is automatically added on so I guess that's why they don't care about giving good service.
Delicious food! Great service and location. Ambience in restaurant was brilliant. Great value! Will definitely recommend it to everyone.
Honestly, bog standard food with a not so average price tag.
I'm a big foodie who loves to post food photos to instagram, but I felt I couldn't even post one photo because all of the dishes looked so bog-standard, not appealing at all - normally this isn't the case for sushi.
I would not recommend Feng Sushi at Royal Festival Hall. Take the short trip to Soho and go to one of the many Japanese restaurants which are cheaper, tastier, and definitely more photogenic!
If you are in the area on the weekend and can't go far, just eat at the food market behind the Royal Festival Hall, trust me, you'll have a better time, a cheaper time, and your stomach will be happier.
This restaurant's food was so ugly!
Great food! Service was quick, but not very attentive.. Did not feel very clean, tables not always cleaned before customers as "no time" ... Menu was a bit grubby made the experience feel a bit less nice. However food was good, and came out quickly.
Excellent food in a great location. The restaurant dealt very well with one of our party who is gluten intolerant. Really good, recommended
It was wonderful ! We went for a birthday meal and they went above and beyond to make the dining experience special! The location is perfect! Right by the river front and bridges if you want to have a romantic stroll but close to stations (embankment and Waterloo) for if you need to rush off anywhere. We are definitely coming back again for their over generous (but very very tasty) portions ! Thank you again!!
Good vegetarian options. Mock duck was wonderful. Tempura udon was really good. Big portions
Met a group of visiting American friends for afternoon sushi here - the food was very high quality & satisfied their San Franciscan tastes. They also serve Sapporo which is my favourite Japanese beer :0)
Great location opposite the Nelson Mandela sculpture which offers plenty of people watching opportunities as well.
The food was very good and well presented! The service was a little slow and you have to raise your voice to have a conversation, but the food makes it worth it.
The food is fantastic consistently at Feng, but the service is quite poor. On all three occasions in which I've visited the festival hall location, I had to chase for water and to simply put in an order. Most recently we had no soup cutlery for the miso's and gave up waiting and just went ahead to drink the soup from the bowl. Hopefully this is a minor kink that will soon be reconciled as it's a beautiful and uniquely situated sushi spot.
Quite a nice place if you're on the Southbank. Wasn't busy, and food came fairly quickly. The portions were large, and decent value.
Delicious food and convenient for Festival Hall.
Nice light meal pre concert.
Delicious food and great selection. Fantastic location for pre-show food on the South Bank. Would recommend.
Food court quality sushi at best.
Great meal using tastecard. Excellent value for money. Quick service. Highly recommended.
Food was fine but service poor - unfriendly staff, probably used to tourists visiting once and not returning. Go if everywhere else around is full, not the best sushi in terms of value for money. Wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend
Great place for sushi and Asian choice dishes. Would recommend the veg Katsu curry . Very filling on a cold day
We went with a taste card and that is great value
Lovely service and cool spot for a bite to eat. Thank you!
