Fifth Floor Cafe – Harvey Nichols
A light, spacious and stylish setting, enjoy fabulous food any time of day or enjoy a tipple on the terrace, overlooking the Knightsbridge rooftops.
The Café serves modern European cuisine and is open all day until 11pm (6pm on Sundays).
They sang happy birthday to me and surprised me with cake and candles. Thanks all for making my day so special
The food was utterly revolting. The prices are really high but that is to be expected given that this is Knightsbridge and so not surprising. Advice to anyone interested in going, have a drink but eat somewhere else.
Great location. But didn’t feel as special as previous visits. Little chaotic, restaurant felt messy.
Met friend and had a main each and shared a pud. She had the gravalax and I had the lamb and we shared a broccoli side. Delicious, nrocolli was a bit underdone, stalk was great but trunk was tough! Pud was a shared fruit tart on polenta and almond base ... melt in mouth! A fab relaxed meal in great surroundings good price and attentive staff.
Well worth a visit
Risotto on the menu as a 'main' I enquired if they could do a small portion as a starter....was told yes that's possible but it would be the same price as main!
Wise cracking manager when aske the qickest way out of building (store by this time had closed) suggested diving off the roof terrace...he thought it was witty!!
Not worth it...certainly no big deal for Harvey Nichols. Salad was tasteless and restaurant almost empty
This would have been have been good but Harvey Nichols had not received our booking from Open Table. A very embarrassing experience for us all. Luckily the professionalism from the H.N. staff saved the day.
Hadn't dined at Fifth Floor for two years but found the restaurant staff still as welcoming. A good choice on the menu; my friend opted for the salmon dish which she said was delicious and cooked to perfection. A vegetarian option for me this time which did not disappoint. A creamy mushroom risotto topped with a parmesan crisp. Tempted by the dessert menu we both had the plum tart with cinnamon ice cream. Will we go again? Definitely yes but we will not leave it too long before our next visit.
Lobster salad was good but, given the amount of lobster, better value is probably to be had at Burger & Lobster next door. Principal complaint was that the music was played at too loud a volume so that, even though we were sitting at a small table for two, we had to raise our voices to hear each other. I asked for the music to be turned down but it wasn't.
I am visiting from the US and arrived a little early -maybe by ten minutes - for a 12noon dinner, and were graciously accommodated by the host who - by the way - could not find my online reservation from OpenTable.
The waitress however told us that as we were early we could no longer order breakfast. And actually, we had to wait ten minutes before she could process the order for lunch as the system was changing over. It was 30-35 minutes after sitting down before our lunch came out and I though that was not particularly amazing for Harvey Nics. The waitress was so gracious and gave us bread to carry us over, but ultimately a 35 minute wait is not really ok with me.
When the check came there was a one pound donation automatically inserted for some homeless charity, and a 12-15% gratuity charge automatically inserted. Perhaps I am just being cranky because of the wait and while I'd be happy to give both to the waitress and the charity, I feel that I need the option to select and give consent before my card is charged for additional money, particularly when I didn't have the best time.
Been a few times and never disappoint us. Good lunch place.
The food was good and the staff were friendly but it took ages to arrive, their attention seemed elsewhere. Tiny cokes, expensive.
Nice service and food was good but at 6.30pm (good for pre-theatre) the ambience was tired shoppers and large family groups taking up lots of space whilst not eating dinner; more like a rest and drink to avoid home trip for a while longer?
Would be a good place for a drink then (and you might be lucky enough to get on eth terrace) or a group of friends after shop tea
Afternoon tea for my sister on her birthday was everything and more. Wonderful sandwiches, cakes, scones, tea, just fabulous. The service was exemplary. Well done!
Arrogant lady with a painted face at the front. Waiters were professional however. Food good but lacked in variety.
Dinner for 4 -3 dinners were from Canada. They service and ambience was amazing. 2 diners had the hake and chips and 2 diners the chicken. The food was cooked superbly and the Waiter was very attentive to the 90-year old Canadian guest.
Harvey Nichols did or disappoint in representing good British food.
Didn't want to walk far from tube as bad back so decided on 5th floor Harvey Nichols - also didn't want a full meal as my daughter was eating out again in the evening. The staff were excellent and I had the steak salad - amazing ! When they realised it was a birthday They arranged a small birthday dessert - lovely touch without being asked.
Because they had been so good we returned to the bar later in the afternoon after shopping!!! A great day
The service was great, the food was very very nice, good atmosphere, my friend and I had a fantastic afternoon.
Evening meal at Harvey Nicks cafe lacks the buzz of the lunchtime crowd. The buzz really helps sell this place along with the people-watching opportunities! Without these, it's just another generic cafe serving reasonable quality food and cocktails.
Day out with the girls .
I booked the 5th Floor restaurant but your booking system did not state that the restaurant was closed and I was booked into the café.
No atmosphere, no tablecloths and surprisingly more expensive than the set menus in the restaurant.
Bank holiday Monday and there was little food left - most dishes were unavailable.
Top marks to the poor embarrassed staff who wanted to put a closed sign on the door.
We booked the express meal but this is now not available. I questioned this as I had not been informed the deal had gone! We were offered a 3 course meal with a cocktail for £22 so they turned it around and gave us a great meal. We stayed for 3 hours and the servers were very attentive and patient! I love 5th Floor but its seems to have lost it's identity!
Lovely afternoon with my best friend, we have been going here near on 20 years, but why is it so quiet, the shop/bar & restauarant were very quiet for a Friday?
The service was perfect - we were not completely happy with a dish, but the staff were very professional and changed it without any fuss.
We received an apology from the kitchen and a complimentary glass of wine as an apology.
Overall, a very pleasant experience.
I went during a Saturday evening for dinner, the restaurant was practically empty and entirely lacking in any atmosphere. The few diners who were there, spread about the room, seemed to feel extremely awkward that they were expecting an enjoyable evening out but found themselves in a lonely room. Some even left shortly after arriving to go and find somewhere better.
Fab as usual
Great friendly staff. Express lunch is excellent value, food was amazing. Service is the best I have experienced. Thank you so much for a really wonderful afternoon.
Went their for the first time with another couple/friends. Loved it!
The service was good.
The food quality was good
The prices were fine - as expected.
The wine was good value.
But nobody else was there. 2 ladies when we arrived at 7.30pm. They left after 45 minutes and then my wife and I were all alone in the resturant for circa 30 mins.
Three other tables did arrive circa 9pm. But still - that was 12 diners in a 2hr period we were there.
Zero atmosphere as a result and could not be recommended on that basis.
We were told it is busier at lunchtime.
THe meal was great. The service was excellent. However, we were the only diners mid-evening on a Thursday. Shocked!
I have been there a few times over the years. The food is always great. For me this is a very high end Michelin star style restaurant. The wine list is big and impressive. The Harvey Nichols own label wines are good value for money. The bar is great and the venue is fun. A perfect place for a special occasion.
The food was adequate, the service was adequate, the ambience was adequate. In fact the overall experience was adequate, but really nothing special. TO be honest it'[s just another of those formulaic restaurants, which fail t stand out from the crowd. Ok the food is better than Carluccios, but at the price it should be, but it really doesn't stand out from any of the other standard higher end restaurants. It just follows the formula that Terence Conran and D&D restaurants found and too many others have followed.
Having heard so much about dining at Harvey Nichols,I was looking forward to eating there.
From the moment we stepped into the restaurant till the time we collected our coats nothing
was too much trouble for the staff.
Everyone who served us,we're polite, professional and most importantly made us feel so welcome.
As it was a birthday treat we opted for the tasting menu which was superb, along with some great suggestions as to which wines complemented our dishes.
Our expierience was truely superb and with other menus to sample,we will certainly be returning.
I had a great time at Fifth Floor restaurant - I took my friend there for her 30th birthday after a whiskey tasting in the Capitol Hotel nearby. I liked the ambience - white table cloths, attentive staff... I would not expect this in a busy department store! My friend was vegetarian so she had to ask for extra menu which only offered two options of each (starter, main and dessert). The food was delicious but unfortunately for my friend, there wasn't much choice, especially if both main courses included cheese - variety here would be more welcome. Other than that, we were spoilt for wine choice and my beef fillet was simply delicious! I would definitely come back for a romantic meal or a dining experience that is just that bit different.
Just walking in gave one a good feeling, with an understated Wow factor. The service was friendly and efficient. The food combined delectable combinations and was beautifully prepared with sensible portion sizes, and complimented by the wine. Came away feeling very satisfied with the whole experience which was infinitely repeatable. Well done to you all.
Our experience in your Fifth Floor restaurant was exceptional staff was amazing and food was delicious Thank you all for a lovely afternoon Will be back!
Rather fab Sunday lunch at a reasonable price for the area. Coupled with a good shop
We visited for lunch and had the Express Menu. All of the food for every course was excellent and the whole meal good value for money in lovely surroundings. It was a little quiet and not very "buzzy" but I guess a Monday lunch is not the liveliest session of the week! Well worth a visit.
The service was outstanding but shame to say the food wasn't, the sandwiches were hard with little taste!
Cakes was yummy but not worth the money specially with so many fabulous afternoon teas in London
The waiting staff are very professional and appropriately attentive, as we were hapy to pause between courses whilst catching up on family news.
The food was lovely - full of flavour and beautifully presented.
