Second visit,my partner is vegan,i cant believe how delicious a meat free meal can be.Only downside was there wasn't any white rum and it should have been in stock. I don't drink wine and prefare Bacardi/white rum.
What a little gem.Was recommended by a friend.Came with my partner.Lovely cosy surroundings. We came on the Vegan Night and the food was outstanding. It was bursting with flavour.Never had a vegan 3 course meal but it was delicious. It was £21.95 per person. If you have never been, its one not to be missed.
Very disappointed. The poor waitress had to work on her own and with a full restaurant this was difficult. She did her best. A young chap behind the bar didn't seem to be much of a help frankly. He kept on forgetting to give people their wine that they had requested! We were not allowed to choose where we sat and had to sit where we were told! Unusual.
The food itself was also disappointing. The starter of fish cakes was quite good but the lamb and rice, in a bowl, was uninspiring and I would have liked some fresh vegetables. The desert, a crumble for me, resembled breakfast muesli and having mentioned this to the waitress, she did nothing to deal with the situation. My friend who paid, remarked that it had been expensive, (even with a £10 voucher), and we will not be repeating the experience. The interior and exterior of this restaurant is stylish and modern.
Food was delicious, marginally overpriced for the smallish portions. Staff were welcoming but hard pressed and seemed to lack direction. We had 3 courses with 20/25 minute waits between. Had to re order wine twice and had 3 attempts to pay Bill as twice did not apply the £10 off voucher. Eaten in Leeds and York previously which were both much slicker operations.
I had been here a few times for lunch and coffee and had been very impressed. I was looking forward to going for an evening birthday meal on 30th December with my husband. There was only the festive menu available which wouldn't have been a problem but many of the dishes were not available. I was also disappointed to be informed that no cocktails could be served after 10pm and the coffee machine was not working or switched off. The food was lovely and exactly the type of food I like to eat but it's just a shame that some other aspects of the evening were lacking.
Great food : 3 covers all had different starters , mains and puds.
Very interesting menu that apparantly changes regularly.
Still too much of a secret in Beverley - it was quiet and therefore we received superb service. There were enough staff in for a Full House.
Go , before everyone else finds it.
We ordered our food from the menu but it wasn't clear what was in the early diner offer and it turned out some of the dishes we chose were not in it. Overall the food was nice, the vegetables in the noodles were a bit undercooked for my liking though.
Will return to try something different. Lovely environment and very friendly helpful staff!
Late online booking that did not disappoint. Lovely food, well presented and great staff. Would like to commend Matt who served us who made sure our requests catered for and took time to look into & write the ingredients of a juice for poor immune system, which I intend to have on my next visit.
Midweek dinner - variety of drinks and freshly made juices and smoothies were great. A good change that one some on the party can have wine or a cocktail, whilst others can go for a healthy juice. Food was also excellent. The smoked chicken risotto with coconut and mango was a stand out. Service was very attentive, quick but relaxed and the coffee is also excellent. My only concern is that whilst the cakes were very good and well priced, the desserts are a little expensive at £7 each. They are good, but the cakes are better value. Overall, this is a gem of a place.
Food good, staff friendly, could not have gin and tonic as they did not have correct measure which was disappointing, surely they could have gone out to buy one or borrow from another pub, also only one draught beer on when advertised three,
Excellent evening quite a few different dishes to try beautifully presented and the cocktails are excellent. Very nice layout albeit the tables are quite close together but the candle lighting adds a very nice atmosphere.
Was not very impressed with this restaurant - it is over priced for very average food. Have had better food in my local pub at half the price! I ordered a burger with sweet potato chips which cost £12, the burger was nice but nothing special but the chips were very greasy and limp... Also the service was very slow. The only good thing was the ambience which was nice although felt the tables were too close together.
Also very few vegetarian options which was strange as it seems the restaurant sells itself as catering for different diets
