Whether on business or pleasure, come dine with us at the Oldest Italian Restaurant in America!
Our favorite place in The City by far. Wonderful meal, wine selection, service, ambiance. It couldn’t be better. Really sorry to see it closed down by the governor and the mayor-outside dining was very, very safe and the staff were very, very careful. Can’t wait for it to reopen-we will be the first ones to come back. We will miss you, Fior!
One of our absolute San Francisco favorites. The food and hospitality are always perfect.
Love this restaurant. Food is great and service is excellent. warm and friendly.
The service, as well as the food, was terrific!
Buonissimo! The service was spectacular and the food was so yummy! My parents dined back in 1996 for their 7th wedding anniversary and were gifted Sambuca glasses from the restaurant. My mom ended up accidentally breaking on the glasses years later, and emailed Fior d’Italia and telling them the sad story. They no longer had the Sambuca glasses but sent her a few wine glasses for her to gift my dad for their 25th wedding anniversary! Here we are years later and I just moved here in August. We had been patiently waiting for the restaurant to open up and I’m so happy they finally did. The wait was well worth it!! Grazie mille!
We are so happy they have reopened--they haven't missed a step--our server, Israel was outstanding, the food was delicious, the service impeccable! This has become our favorite restaurant in The City.
Half the lunch menu wasn't available. Italian restaurant "out of" meatballs, "out of" sausage" ... Didn't leave too much else to select. Then I didn't get my open table points, even though the reservation was made through open table, presumably because my husband picked up the tab.
Food consistently good! Staff pleasant & enjoyed live music
Wonderful restaurant, incredible food. I was there with my nephew and his girlfriend. I had the burrata salad which I shared and we had the gnocchi, spaghetti pesto, and the prawns. Every thing was incredible. Hoping the small crowd was due to a Monday night...
Any restaurant where the noise level is low gets five stars from me.....plus the food was excellent.
A very nice "off the beaten path" restaurant. Food was traditional and we enjoyed our Veal Piccata and the Bolognese. The pasta tasted really fresh. Especially enjoyed the atmosphere with the piano playing the background, not a bunch of load music blaring so we actually enjoyed talking to each other during dinner!!
Having lived in SF as a child, I remember Fior fondly. And coming back after all these years it didn't disappoint. The service was warm, personal and just the right amount. Attention to every detail. Lovely piano music in was played. White table clothes and a great wine list. Amazing traditional Italian food and perfect recommendations. If you want a throw-back Italian dinner that is reminiscent of old SF (from the oldest Italian restaurant in the US!) try Fior. Parking was also easy (and while they have valet, it wasn't active on this Thursday evening).
We couldn’t ask for a better experience.
Wonderful Restaurant for business and pleasure!!!
Service was superb
Service was poor - in fact pathetic. This was my marriage anniversary and I had chosen to go to that restaurant and it was an absolute disaster of a choice.
Always a great experience here. Lalo and the staff are amazing. The food and drinks great
Had jazz music! Amazing old world experience!
Great ambiance and a friendly staff
Nice happy hour at the bar.
As usual, Fior was a wonderful place for lunch. Intimate atmosphere, great food and service, our waiter Gil was wonderful. It is our “go to” place in the City.
Great place . Authentic .
The best meal I had while traveling in San Francisco.
Wonderfully warm server and host, so friendly, food was excellent. The homemade pasta was extra special and we loved the love music, not overwhelming, just right!
Great Food and Service
Camerieri in sala gentilissimi, un po’ meno quelli in cucina con pessimi apprezzamenti le clienti,
We went for NewYears eve dinner and the quality of the food was poor and not much taste. Ambiance was ok and the server could have been a bit more attentive.
Awesome authentic Italian food. Service and food was great even on New Year’s Eve.
Wonderful meal and service. Israel, our waiter, was great. Went for lunch, came back a few hours later for a bowl of soup, bar scene was similar to “Cheers”. Our go to place in the city, never disappoints, always great.
The food was so good I thought the service was a little on the slow side he’s a very nice waiter . I would highly recommend this restaurant very nice atmosphere and there’s a history behind this restaurant that’s incredible. I would definitely return
Fun place for a late night Christmas Day dinner. Food and drink good.
Sat in a draft, waiters kept bumping my chair and carrying plates and pitchers over our heads. Yes, it was Christmas, but surely they've been busy before in all these years. No valet parking available. Lasagne was very good.
Deelish!!! Friendly maitre d' welcomed us warmly and enthusiastically, and seated us right away although we were almost 1/2 hour early for our reservation. It seemed like they quickly got slammed, but our service was outstanding, and the food was excellent, so we really weren't affected in the least. What great teamwork! We plan to return again very soon. Highly recommend!
Comida de muy buena calidad
Friendly staff very efficient and knowledgeable. They make you feel at home
Is a very nice restaurant that I visit every time I visit San Francisco. This hear I visited 12/23. Last year was on Christmas day and it was also a great experience.
This was our second time at Fior D'Italia but the first for our son and his family. Our son's comment said it best "this place makes you feel welcoming and not like a tourist"! The food was so delicious and very generous, even the grandchildren enjoyed themselves. For great food, atmosphere and service, this is the place to go!
We enjoyed a fantastic dinner here on a recent Saturday night. We were seated immediately and our server greeted us right away. We ordered drinks which arrived almost instantly and were exactly as ordered. We shared the clams and mussels appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. Shared a Caesar salad, it was bet good. I had the veal chop and hubby had the braised rabbit, both were outstanding! We loved the ambiance of this SF classic, and look forward to going again sometime soon!
Our dinners were delicious... soup, salads, main courses! The service was perfect!
Love the place. A real Gem in SF. Will be back again soon.
It’s a bit overrated for the price, based on our experience. There is a lot of italian restaurants around the block that could be a better option.
Overall we had a very enjoyable evening. Our server Eddy was cordial and prompt. He seemed to be forgetful, and had to return to the table to be reminded of what we ordered to drink. For the main course I ordered rack of lamb, and Eddy responded with, "Yes, Sella D'Agnello al Forno", so he heard me correctly. When our main courses arrived I had the New York Steak instead of the rack of lamb that I ordered. I chose not to mention it, as I didn't want to spoil my wife's evening or delay her meal. Actually the steak was fair, and who would complain about receiving a steak for dinner? But I think I should mention it now. Everything else was fine, and we look forward to dining with you again soon. John Stedman.
