I always love eating at Fischers, as I love Austria and its cuisine. Plenty of food that I love on the menu, always cooked really well and have never been disappointed. Slightly older clientele.
We come back time and time again. Great food, great place.
One of my favorite restaurants in London. A must visit for authentic Austrian food!
Smooth & efficient reservation, pleasant welcome, immediate supply of bread & water, in short good service. Thoughtful selection on a la carte and excellent quality of dishes. Bill is a bit greater than expected ( all prices added up correctly), but this is London.
Another very enjoyable meal. I requested a quiet table and was not disappointed. Definitely recommend and will return
Always reliably wonderful. Introduced my friend to Fischer’s, and she had the chicken schnitzel and drunken sisters dessert. And we began with the chopped liver and toast. I had a delicious veal chop. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The food was very tasty - middle-European comfort-food in style. We shared chopped liver and a black pudding and apple dish for starters - both delicious. The Schnitzel was excellent, as was the Tafelspitz (classic Viennese braised beef), though the latter could have benefited from being served with more of the vegetables from the stock for the authentic Viennese experience.
The decor is perfect - just like an old Viennese cafe/restaurant. It's not cheap, but lived up to our expectations for a celebration.
Quite a disappointment. Food was mediocre and service was bad
We have been visiting Fischer's since it opened and have enjoyed many good meals there. After a break of about a year we returned today as we don't live locally any more. Our children were complimented on their good manners and behaviour but they like me were saddened by the meal we received. The veal chop was inedible but expensive so it went home to the dog (he is less fussy I guess) the fish was not fresh (tummy upset ensued) and service was not at all what we remembered. It borders on surly now and that is not worth travelling to London for. And £16 for a small glass of ok champagne? Really? A real shame as we had looked forward to this visit. The other members of our family ate at a local pub in Sussex at excatly the same time, had a great time and a bill for a quarter of that at Fischers. None of us ate dinner, they because they were still full, us because we don't feel well. Such a shame, it had been a really nice place. Goodbye Fischers's, we hope you can recover your past standards.
Owned by the same people as the Wolseley and offering a varied full day menu. Accent on Central European cuisine. The Schnitzels are enormous but then so were the desserts. Not cheap but good food and very attentive and friendly staff. Lots of babies among the clientele at lunchtime.
A lovely venue, with very good food and first class service. It's an ideal venue for both casual and formal dining, for an everyday friends catch-up or a special occasion. A real treat if you enjoy Viennese cuisine especially strudel!
I’ve been coming here for many years with a very old friend – we loved it. Traditional Austrian cooking – An unusual find in the beautiful Marylebone High Street
Fischers is a beautiful intimate restaurant. Done impeccably in Viennese 1930s style with absolutely no expense spared. ( The lovely mahogany & marble loos are a joy in themselves!)
The staff are charming, very friendly and the service is fast & efficient.
The food is delicious, featuring wonderful sausages or wurst or Wiener Schnitzel with sides of pickled cucumber or potato salad, sour kraut, or creamy mash etc. Lots of other goodies on the menu too.
It is one of our favourite restaurants in London. Much better, we think, than its sister restaurant The Delaunay, which is larger & suffers because of it. Plus you get the added joy of shopping the lovely shops in Marylebone High Street after lunch.
Attentive but not overwhelming service. Nice, buzzy atmosphere. And huge portions! I had asked for a corner table as I was on a date and that's exactly what they gave me. A thoroughly enjoyable evening!
Love this place.
Perfectly charming. Excellent service. Last but not least best Wiener schnitzel in town.
Hit the spot despite it being a ridiculously hot evening - salads were particularly delicious and well presented. Water refills were very welcome.
My friend and I were both absolutely amazed by the quality and taste of both foods and drinks we had.
The Schnitzel was cooked to perfection, and growing up in Germany with many visits to Vienna I know a perfect Schnitzel when I see one. ;-)) Chips were super crispy and the delicious cucumber salad gave a refreshing contribution. The cheesecake was simply a dream but what knocked out socks out was the authentic coffee served in a pot just like in Vienna or Germany. We got wonderful bread with paprika cluttered butter with compliments and the Grüner Veltliner (white wine from Austria) was wonderful.
Considering the prices you pay in London’s prime locations and postcodes, it felt like even more fun when the bill came with a rather friendly pricing. Especially for this outstanding quality. Will go over and over again and highly recommend.
Service was great but a little slow that’s why I gave only 4 stars to keep it real. But nothing to moan about really.
To summarise: amazing authentic Viennese dishes in an incredible interior served by friendly yet highly professional staff. As a cherry on top fairly priced.
Always a reliable (and yummy) place for a discreet breakfast meeting and quality coffee.
Up to the usual high culinary and service standards. My 92 Viennese mother regularly gives Fischers top marks for authenticity save for the menu translations from English to German. “It’s Hochdeutsch not Austrian”!
The service was a bit slow and the restaurant was really hot (not great for really hot days). Apart from those two, wonderful and tasty food!
a good place in the Marylebone for a get together with an old friend. Very discreet service and good food.
Excellent as ever
I go to Fischer's regularly, they know me well and it never disappoints. I love the food and the atmosphere. The service is always exceptional.
Took a friend here for a birthday lunch. The food and service were excellent. We had selections of herring and salmon, then sea trout and chicken schnitzel. The breads were delicious. We were offered a tasting of two wines when we couldn’t decide between them. Suggest sharing a schnitzel if you haven’t got a huge appetite.
I attended Fischer’s for my birthday meal. The service was excellent, unfortunately the food was not served to the standard that I am used to. We ordered the poached eggs which unfortunately all three came out runny and raw inside. The waiter took the food away and replaced it however this time round the eggs came out essentially hard boiled.
I do love Fischer’s however I believe it is better for dinner as apposed to brunch.
We have had many enjoyable meals at Fischers but the food is not as good as it once was and this was the second time we had a very mediocre meal. The worst part of the meal were the vegetables we ordered, broccoli and green beans. Both were totally over cooked and no longer hot. We used to love the chips at Fischers so much that we always ordered a portion each. However, this was the second time that we had soggy chips, truly awful. We each had a schnitzel, that's what we always come for, and the small portion is getting smaller and smaller. Nobody left hungry but we were not in the mood for a dessert.
Finally, we were at the restaurant on a very hot day and surprised that there was no air-conditioning. Can't eat that sort of food in hot weather!
The French waiter was very nice.
Relaxed atmosphere with good food, service and ambience - entertained two New Yorkers who liked relaxed, but smart dining. R.F.
Tasteful setting, good service and unusual options as well as classics for brunch food
One of the group was asked how he wanted his salmon cooked and he asked for it rare and it was medium so wasn’t too happy, esp as he was asked. I thought the food was great and a v atmospheric place.
Fischers is lively and with the down to earth, no frills approach of the staff is very relaxed and friendly. The right across the menu is delicious and the amount of food served whether you are a gourmet or on a diet is perfect.
I like all the dishes I have tried, but the Vienna Schnitzel is outstanding and the sausages, particularly in combination is frankly rapturous. Another dish to die for is the cucumber salad which complements the above perfectly.
Finish the meal with one of the coffees and you will leave wishing that you cannot return soon enough!
Superb as ever. Delicious coffee and a wonderful breakfast! A greatnfavourite for me and my family.
Something a bit different - we had a good catch up with friends, tasty food and good service - all for reasonable price. It was quite busy and also quite noisy at times but fun.
An excellent restaurant
Staff friendly and attentive
Tasty food with great services in a beautifully decorated restaurant. Suitable for all occasions. I booked my next visit on my way out already.
Received with a warm welcome and excellent service from our waiter.
We only wanted a very light meal but were not made to feel awkward.
Will definitely return
Lovely food and good service..
A family birthday dinner. Special occasion. Told the table captain when I arrived before my family. Service, cuisine were excellent. Although Fischer’s was , as usual, very busy the captain remembered our brief chat and brought to my daughter a tempting slice of chocolate cake on a plate on which « happy birthday » was written in chocolate icing script. A much appreciated gesture. When my daughter asked if it could be taken home, it reappeared nicely wrapped in minutes. This individualised attention will keep us coming back.

This is a favourite restaurant of mine. Excellent ambiance and food. As ever.
