Fish Market Ratings and Reviews
Made very welcome by the staff on our arrival for brunch. We opted for the set menu with myself having the unlimited prosecco which was very drinkable. We began with half a dozen oysters to share. We followed these with buttermilk pancakes and bacon and a plate of smoked salmon. For mains we opted for a steak and the kedgeree. The steak was perfect and served with king prawns chips and garlic butter. The rice in the kedgeree was a little toothsome for my wife who prefers her rice soft. The staff were more than happy to exchange the kedgeree for a steak. I followed this with a plate of two English cheeses. With water, dessert wine and the unlimited bubbles the bill was £105 including service.
Second time here with a friend. Excellent service by our waiter Yuri. Very helpful and attentive. Food was lovely this time, better than when we came here first time (opted the set menu first time, this time we chose from the ala carte menu). Thumbs up, although the portion could have been a tad larger.
We were served by Anna who was efficient without being overbearing. Our starters were lovely, I had the scotch egg and my guest had the soup, both were hot and delicious. I had dover sole for my main and my guest had the salmon. Both once again were hot and tasty. Our wine was recommended and was also delicious. Anna helped the experience by being quiet and efficient, a lovely lunch.
Short notice booking for somewhere near Liverpool Street post theatre matinee. Quality fish, with great Fish and Chips well above the norm. Good choice of dessert. If you can eat three courses, you have some appetite. Great service and made feel welcome at all times. Has a quality feel about it, but not pricey.
This is not the first time when I went to Fish Market. Food and service are amazing. We got complimentary champagne for my birthday and the glasses were not small at all. Highly recommended restaurant with great sea food and also options for those who do not eat fish.
Second visit here and much more impressed than the first time. A nice venue, good menu and very nice food. Service was a little slow but there did not seem to be enough servers which is why. The lady serving us was working very hard. I'd definitely go back.
Food was delicious and the ambiance was excellent. Staff was friendly - excellent service.
We ordered the 2 course meal for £15 which was a good value.
Endive, pear & blue cheese salad. Good, but would have been better with fresh pear instead of finely sliced candied pear.
Roasted Cornish Hake with gnocchi - Excellent! Best fish I had in a while and would highly recommend.
Booked in primarily because it was really near where I had a meeting and I was really pleased I did. The staff were really attentive without being intrusive and coped with the indecisiveness of my girlfriend and I. I choose from the two course fixed price and had excellent gravalax followed by mackerel that was perfectly cooked with a perfect accompaniment of soy, pakchoi and chilli. My girlfriend had a perfectly cooked fish scotch egg followed by lemon sole both flavoursome and perfectly cook. And the carafe of house wine was perfectly drinkable too. Overall a real lovely meal and we went home very happy
The 3 courses for £19 was great value. The dishes were creative and full of flavour. With sweet accompaniments to balance against salty (Cod) or sour (Berry Crumble) flavours. Service was fine and the atmosphere cosy and relaxed. My only gripe was 2 different glasses of white wine were served not much under room temperature. Personally I like my white wine to be really chilled. An aesthetically pleasing restaurant, with great music at a volume where you can talk, and very much a new favourite for us, so will definitely go back. Overall strongly recommend.
