Had some friends from overseas come to see me and decided on taking them to the Fish Market for dinner. The restaurant is in easy reach of Liverpool Street Station. We ordered the seafood starter platter and tried both the oysters they had on offer, ordered both the steamed and roast lobster and finished it with 2 different desserts. All the food tasted delicious and my friends certainly enjoyed it. Service was ok, whilst the restaurant was not big, it got busier the later it got, so the waiters and waitresses were very busy towards the end. The waiters and waitresses that served us were very friendly though throughout the night.
Food and staff were both great and all at a very reasonable price
Great service and wonderful fish pie! A great atmosphere for midweek.
We all had the 3 course set menu with a glass of wine included, excellent value. The food choices were great and everybody really enjoyed their food. Definitely would go back, can’t beat it for value for money. We sat outside and as it’s down an alley you have no traffic pollution.
a regular venue as the fish is always fresh and flavoursome. The Open Table special menu is particularly good and value for money
Excellent range and quality of seafood. Interesting dishes. Something for everyone provided you like food from seas or rivers!
Service was very friendly but a bit slow at times and had to be reminded of some items.
Outside space is good on a warm day and provides pedestrianised street scenes to watch without traffic.
Pleasant restaurant with nice outside seating
Always very tasty! Been here a few times now and each time the food has been really tasty with attentive service. Prices are decent and if you go here using something like the evening standard offer you get a great deal . I will for sure be going back, still so many dishes to try.
Food was fair. Fish n chips over cooked. Salmon tasteless. Noisy
Good selection of fish simply but perfectly cooked
I have been to the Fish Market a number of times now. The food is always fresh and nice. Stall are always attentive and considerate, always a very informal comfortable place to go and eat.
Excellent food excellent service we will definitely eat here again highly recommended
Went on a Monday evening so not overly busy although lots of people were sat outside taking advantage of the sun. We ate from the set menu which was very good value, the desserts were superb. The tomato side dish was also very good (if you get excited by such things). The service was friendly albeit a touch on the slow side but perhaps they were giving us time to talk without pressure.
Had a great variety of seafood there, food was amazing, and would highly recommend the lobster as it was really meaty and fresh. The crab on toast was recommended by one of the staff and it was so delicious as well. Oyster with a glass of champagne was a great deal and would highly recommend also. Staffs were very friendly and the decor is really beautiful. Offers outdoor seating which brings a great vibe to it. The only downside is that it’s a bit pricey.
Second time there. Busier this time on a Friday evening and service was so slow. Nearly two hours to get the two course set menu and we didn’t go for the pie or anything that took long. Food nothing special which was disappointing as returned as first meal was good. Starters were decent enough, main course was disappointing - king prawn linguine, had one king prawn and a few chopped up pieces. Same for both entrees.
Nice location, but seems hit or miss on the food/service.
Lovely oysters, decent service, all of it let down by over cooked and over salted mains. We probably should have sent my tuna steak back - just ran out of time.
Good food with a varied menu - wine list could be broader.
Looks nice from outside, but we were quite disappointed to see the restaurant was EMPTY.. just 1 table with 3 people and us.. not really promising. The fish platter was nice, though, but clearly people were in a rush to close at around 10 pm.. as they started cleaning etc.
Great seafood selection and cocktails. Good value for money. We will definitely come back.
Service was pretty poor
Excellent meal with options to fancy it up if needed. Great service.
ok food but service is far too slow. We had like half hour gap without even nibble.
nice , the outside area is nice because of it being in the middle of the city of London as it is in a courtyard area does not feel like it is .
Drinks tad too expensive and would be nice if there was a happy hour especially during week straight from work. Staff really nice . Set menu good choices and after 2 courses was to full to eat more .
Had a great dinner here for my birthday. Service was excellent (also loved the magician’s tricks in between courses—it really added value to the occasion). Food was good, but I should have probably ordered something with less frying involved. Will definitely come back!
Excellent soft crab burger!
Nice to sit outside with the protection of large parasols to protect us from the English weather
Their service was very good the waitress was extremely helpful and attentive. The food was a major disappointment the fish platter was extremely small with some of the elements on the platter being very bland. The main meal was similar the crab ravioli was a small portion, the pasta was quite hard and lacking in seasoning.
Great food and service but room needs some acoustic deadening
First time visit, and normally a steak and red wine fan myself, so I was looking for something new and different for dinner with the wife and some family visiting from abroad.
We booked in advance and were welcomed and seated quickly upon arrival. Waiters were warm and friendly. I always make a point of trying to engage with the people serving my table in any restaurant, but i know also that not every server has the time or inclination to indulge me. So i was happy that the waiters here both picked up and went along with my sense of humour, in a way that made me feel genuinely welcome and relaxed.
The food was excellent and beautifully presented. The portions are "just right", not large. If you like to leave a restaurant feeling properly full and ready for a nap, then i would recommend not to be shy when ordering sides. As it was, i enjoyed all three courses (oysters to start, monkfish main with sides, and cheesecake for desert) and felt very comfortable but not stretching my waistline.
After our meal, as we were about to leave, our family guest asked if we could sit at a table outside and smoke a cigarette. With a smile and no fuss at all, we were led to a table and the outside heater was turned on. Although we had finished our meal and paid, i still felt that we were being looked after right till the last minute. As ever, good service always shows in the little things.
Overall, I cant fault the evening we spent there.
Good fish restaurant - always reliable, not fussy but suitable for client meals. You can sit outside in the summer.
First time visited and pretty good all round. Had a few issues with dessert delivery, but it was recognised and they gave it to us for nothing! Would certainly visit again.
I have been to this restaurant a few times, and each time the food, service and ambiance is very good.
Fantastic service and friendly staff
Good food and service. In parts noisy.
There's a lovely outdoor dining area here, and the food is of a good quality. The service was pretty slow, but there was no rush to vacate our table and overall I had an enjoyable night.
Really good set menu for a work lunch, good value.
I meet my sister here at 12.45 for brunch and a catch up. We took a table outside under the heaters......we left at 9.30pm! Thats how comfortable and very well looked after we felt. Food was great and staff even better.
Beautifully fresh fish, which we all thoroughly enjoyed.
I went in alone and was greeted by the most friendly staff. They continually checked up on me to make sure everything was up to par and it definitely was! I chose the 3 course set menu and each course was very good. In particular, the madras sea bream was delicious! A ton of food for the price. I would definitely recommend Fish Market to anyone wanting good seafood at a reasonable price
Lovely food. Expensive wine.
Always a good combo of very pretty girls nice good vale food and casual decor in a prime area. My godson who has some fairly minor disablities really loves it and is treated beautifully
