Set menu was great value and really tasty - great for a casual dinner with friends
Great seafood. Lots of flavour, but my criticism is that my boyfriend and I were still hungry after sharing 3 starters and 2 main courses. I had hoped to feel more satisfied especially for the cost.
It was OK.Fish was fresh, plainly cooked. The mussel sauce was too salty, but edible. More like a cafe than a restaurant, no table cloths. Might go again if I want fish.
We went there with my wife for our anniversary. Food and service were good.
We appreciated the complimentary drinks for our anniversary. Thank you very much.
The dishes are tasteful. The promotion is very good value for money, but the dish size is surprisingly small. The service is good, but not very attentive.
Good fish restaurant. Having the special offer makes the price reasonable.
Nick, stand up and get ready to receive your bottle of bubbly! Take a bow :)
Very average food. The wine was extremely good and great value. Service was also very pleasant but they did get our order wrong twice.
I was extremely excited to have some fresh fish and from that perspective the fish, muscles and prawns were extremely fresh however the lack of seasoning really let the meal down.
The service was good however not the most attentive, we sat on the table waiting for our mains for a while which was unfortunate as we were starving due to the muscles being overcooked.
Overall 3.5 / 5 definitely a great ambience and great fresh fish, would also recommend the prawn linguini.
Fish very tasty but small portions. Mains the size of starters.
A great find. Feels like you are at the seaside, except it is in London!
Great fresh fish, cooked however you want it
Food waa embarrassing..tiny dirty mussels..screw top wine..
Excellent in every way. The fish was so fresh and the service fantastic. Will definity be back again
Went for a business meal for a colleague visiting from the United States. The food was really nice as was the wine and the restaurants atmosphere. We sat outside in mid-October and there were blankets and heaters to keep us warm. My only complaint was the speed of service as we told them about an engagement at 8 and they were still behind on the service though the restaurant was far from packed.
Very nice ambiance and service.
Very Average food, Nothing special!! Service was very good, Very friendly, and attentive. Was nice sitting outside but would have hated sitting inside as it looked like a canteen seating.
overall I wouldn’t return. Much nicer seafood restaurants in London.
Very slow service, the food is just ok. We loved seating outside. They do have a set menu option but they don’t mention it unless you ask yourself. The set menu is fair. On our last visit they brought us starters but forgot our main courses. They compensated with free drinks which we thought was a nice gesture. It took us however nearly 2 hours with starters and mains... too long
Nice atmosphere and good food
Brilliant service, fresh seafood and great ambience right in the middle of the City. Very welcomed and will be back.
Food was reasonably good but we were let down when we ordered lobster only to find out 25 minutes later that they had sold out. Our replacement meals were also slow coming but to the restaurants credit they did remove the service charge, 10% and offer complimentary glasses of proseco and sambuca (which none of us could stomach).
Really great meal for my boyfriend’s birthday. The service was fantastic and they made sure it was special. Delicious food too, and great value.
Food and service was good and staff were very friendly.
Had some friends from overseas come to see me and decided on taking them to the Fish Market for dinner. The restaurant is in easy reach of Liverpool Street Station. We ordered the seafood starter platter and tried both the oysters they had on offer, ordered both the steamed and roast lobster and finished it with 2 different desserts. All the food tasted delicious and my friends certainly enjoyed it. Service was ok, whilst the restaurant was not big, it got busier the later it got, so the waiters and waitresses were very busy towards the end. The waiters and waitresses that served us were very friendly though throughout the night.
Food and staff were both great and all at a very reasonable price
Great service and wonderful fish pie! A great atmosphere for midweek.
We all had the 3 course set menu with a glass of wine included, excellent value. The food choices were great and everybody really enjoyed their food. Definitely would go back, can’t beat it for value for money. We sat outside and as it’s down an alley you have no traffic pollution.
a regular venue as the fish is always fresh and flavoursome. The Open Table special menu is particularly good and value for money
Excellent range and quality of seafood. Interesting dishes. Something for everyone provided you like food from seas or rivers!
Service was very friendly but a bit slow at times and had to be reminded of some items.
Outside space is good on a warm day and provides pedestrianised street scenes to watch without traffic.
Pleasant restaurant with nice outside seating
Always very tasty! Been here a few times now and each time the food has been really tasty with attentive service. Prices are decent and if you go here using something like the evening standard offer you get a great deal . I will for sure be going back, still so many dishes to try.
Food was fair. Fish n chips over cooked. Salmon tasteless. Noisy
Good selection of fish simply but perfectly cooked
I have been to the Fish Market a number of times now. The food is always fresh and nice. Stall are always attentive and considerate, always a very informal comfortable place to go and eat.
Excellent food excellent service we will definitely eat here again highly recommended
Went on a Monday evening so not overly busy although lots of people were sat outside taking advantage of the sun. We ate from the set menu which was very good value, the desserts were superb. The tomato side dish was also very good (if you get excited by such things). The service was friendly albeit a touch on the slow side but perhaps they were giving us time to talk without pressure.
Had a great variety of seafood there, food was amazing, and would highly recommend the lobster as it was really meaty and fresh. The crab on toast was recommended by one of the staff and it was so delicious as well. Oyster with a glass of champagne was a great deal and would highly recommend also. Staffs were very friendly and the decor is really beautiful. Offers outdoor seating which brings a great vibe to it. The only downside is that it’s a bit pricey.
Second time there. Busier this time on a Friday evening and service was so slow. Nearly two hours to get the two course set menu and we didn’t go for the pie or anything that took long. Food nothing special which was disappointing as returned as first meal was good. Starters were decent enough, main course was disappointing - king prawn linguine, had one king prawn and a few chopped up pieces. Same for both entrees.
Nice location, but seems hit or miss on the food/service.
Lovely oysters, decent service, all of it let down by over cooked and over salted mains. We probably should have sent my tuna steak back - just ran out of time.
Good food with a varied menu - wine list could be broader.
Looks nice from outside, but we were quite disappointed to see the restaurant was EMPTY.. just 1 table with 3 people and us.. not really promising. The fish platter was nice, though, but clearly people were in a rush to close at around 10 pm.. as they started cleaning etc.
