Dined out on the Evening Standard promotional menu - Friday night fish and chip deal with drink. Excellent value, quality food and great service.
Loved the food and the decor, the service was a bit haphazard and we have been waiting some time to order and had to take out own coats from the hangers. Given the offer was great value, we didnt mind this!
Great fish, served by very friendly staff.
Excellent ES January offer including wine, with decent choices on the set menu. Mackerel pate starter was particularly good. All the hard surfaces and closely packed tables make the noise level pretty high.
Great first time visit to the Fish Market.
The overall service from James & the rest of the staff was outstanding, really felt valued as a customer which doesn’t happen often in London. And the offer menu from Evening Standard was brilliant value for money.
Food delicious, not too noisy, excellent value (Evening Standard deal), service friendly - great place to catch-up with friends. Recommended.
Prawn linguine was delicious
Absolutely outstanding experience took mum for her 50th birthday they did a special request! Service was beyond the best so prompt efficient and polite very friendly! Atmosphere was lovely and the food was even better! I would defiantly recommend to all and I will be returning. Thank you all x
Lovely people at the restaurant and very fresh fish. It would be delightful in the summer
Friendly staff, good ambience and food was nice for the value
Good experience very friendly staff. Food wasn’t to our liking but it’s down to what we ordered not the the restaurant
This was my first visit to Fish Market and I would definitely go back. Enjoyed a relaxing lunch as a belated birthday celebration with a friend. The food was good and service prompt and friendly. The location was conveniently close to Liverpool St station.
Great meal. Excellent service with a lovely atmosphere. Very busy upon arrival (8.30pm) but quietened off later
Always good quality food in an informal environment. It was good to be able to escape the seasonal office party crowds.
Whilst I enjoy a buzz about a restaurant this was not that.
Lunch was crowded the tables so close you put your bottom in other tables food squeezing between the tables.
I had to shout to be heard by my guest we left without trying desert in order to get coffee and cake somewhere less noisy.
I invited two colleagues from Canada to the Fish Market and both have returned to Canada saying the Fish Market was the highlight of their week in London.
They were very impressed with the food, the excellent service and recommendations as well as the superb ambience of the restaurant.
I am certain that, on their return next year, they will demand a return.
Unpretentious restaurant that serves good seafood in basic but pleasant surroundings. The draught wine is good and the set lunch menu is very good value for money.
So glad that I chose fish market for my overnight stay in London. The food and drink were phenomenal and the service was especially personalized.
It’s not amazing, and took quite a while for our mains to arrive when the restaurant wasn’t super busy. But overall it’s a good deal for central London and it’s a nice spot.
A really nice and relaxed place with good food. I would definitely recommend this place.
my godson 2 times a year-great.
value/staff/food he loves it
Value for money great, good house wine and friendly waiters,
Lovely place to have a meal with friends, attentive staff
Fish market is an excellent restaurant that I keep going to. It is in the city but not a stuck up place. It is perfect both for business dinners and for pleasure!
Nice place for a business lunch. It is quiet enough so you are not having to scream and the tables are spaced out well. The food is good but I found for what I was getting the prices were a bit on the high side. I would consider going back though if in the area.
This was my first experience going to a seafood restaurant. Definitely a must go. The staff were very welcoming, will go above to accommodate. The food was amazing. Hint: Go for the octopus.
Great spot to grab dinner with a friend and catch up, set menu is excellent and affordable , staff is very friendly and always smiling! Keep it up fish market!
Good quality fish and attentive staff in a nice setting.
Sat outside and staff friendly enough with service. But good underwhelming. Prawns tasted like cheap supermarket prawns that had been defrosted. Fish was ok but not exciting. But for the price there are much better alternatives nearby. I had been before and had the same feeling then. Will I return? Probably not...
Lovely restaurant, fresh seafood cooked to perfection, will definitely return!
Good value lunch although surprised to find the deal I thought I had booked was not available. Service let them down - I asked for the fish of the day without butter and explained that I was lactose intolerant. When the mains were delivered, mine was covered in butter which meant a wait for me whilst my friend ate. No real apology from the waitress.
Not cheap but service and food good
Lovely place and great fish. Only quibble is it was cold in the restaurant but that's cos it's so popular as the door opened frequently.
Good range of seafood dishes, including non seafood option. Starters were good, my friend had the salmon salad, and i had the fish pie. Fish pie was overly creamy and overly buttery without a balanced flavour profile. I couldn't finish it and left at least 1/3 as I felt it was too sickly and couldn't eat any more of it. I would not recommend the fish pie at £19.50 for the size and poor execution of the dish.
Portion sizes seem to have shrunk a bit, and prices gone up... But then again, brexit looming is causing all kinds of price increases.
Lovely touches as was celebrating a birthday. Only downstairs was it was practically empty on a Friday night so lacked a bit of atmosphere sadly. Food and service both great though
Food was super tasty and flavourful. You could see and taste the freshness of the fish they serve!
Huge sharing seafood platter, and the octopus is a must if dining here at fish market.
Thanks to all the staff and the chefs. Very happy with my visit.
Lovely evening, we sat outside in the front as it was lovely & warm. We ordered from the Evening Standard menu. Great value & the food was good!
My fish portion was tiny...... very disappointed. I had to order another main!
Great menu and wonderful staff. Lobster was a good size, I asked for it steamed but it was a tiny bit underdone (translucent in areas!) oysters were a little bit on the small size, but nice. Grilled octopus was delicious after we sent it back for a bit more grilling. Outdoor terrace is lovely on a warm day. We enjoyed it as it was nice and informal, get the food execution right and it’ll be 5 stars.
