Food not bad but below our expectations for a fish restaurant. Service was great. Price substantially higher than comparable restaurants, particularly drinks.
Went there on Tuesday celebrated my daughter's birthday. We both love seafood. We sat outside and the weather was lovely. It's only few steps away from Liverpool Station but surprisingly it's so peaceful and quiet. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The food (Oh my God) was superb. Especially loved the sharing platter. Will definitely go back again. Thank you for the lovely evening.
We benefitted from a nice sunny day any sat outside for lunch. The Shell On prawns I had to start were simple but very fresh and tasty, and the monkfish from the daily specials was delicious with garlic butter. My friend had tuna tartare and then a rather large quantity of mussels, both of which he enjoyed. We washed it all down with a couple of glasses of champagne and a bottle of NZ SB.
Service was good and they accommodated my preference for a proper menu over this scan code tosh that seems to be taking over, which put them in my good books to begin with! :)
Not exactly a cheap lunch but pretty fair prices considering the locale and the quality of the food.
All in all, I would recommend this restaurant and will be back there myself before summer is out I hope!
Great service and food 10/10
Excellent service will definitely visit again. Top food and drink and no pressure to hurryup
COVID TIMES: loads of outdoor heating and great umbrella coverage. So all weathers great. Lovely staff lovely meal. Not great distancing between tables outdoors. Really enjoyed my evening.
Great service and lovely food
Lovely food, service was a bit slow but they were so great!
Lovely friendly service
These days are tough on restaurants. A short-notice reservation: we were the only people in Fish Market this particular lunchtime. Food was good, service super-friendly and engaged (although kitchen speed was remarkably slow given the number of orders). In normal times when full, this would be a great lunchtime seafood hang out!
I am trying to there once a week. This is how good it is.
The service is superb. Very friendly.
Friendly service throughout. Staff provided a complimentary dessert as I had not enjoyed my main
Excellent food in safe environment . Attentive staff
Great service. Nice menu. Simple food cooked well
We arrived early and had the restaurant to ourselves. The ambience was quiet and perfect for my catch up with my friend.
Good value with excellent service ....
average food, nothing special...but good oysters.
The food is gorgeous, staff are very friendly and wine is delicious!
Great value 💜
To be honest we were the only ones here.
We had a lovely meal sat outside.
Great food despite restrictions it was still very welcoming and great service
£1 oysters with a lovely red wine vinegar and shallot dressing to suit.
The whole sea bream was lovely and Cod Pavé was delicious.
The salt cod croquettes for starters/nibbles was excellent and I highly recommended the crab on toast. Very tasty.
Ambiance could have been better and it took us a while to be greeted and seated even though it was quiet. The menu was to be viewed via QR code which was fine but we didn’t receive any explanation on the menus available etc.
Overall, extremely nice and I would recommend for the food.
Myself and a friend went for our Birthday
The food was fab and the service
Given it was in Liverpool Street, it was in a lovely location, set off from the hustle and bustle. The restaurant adhered to social distancing rules and provided automatic sanitizers at the entrance.
This was the first restaurant i have been in since lock down restriction eased and i can that it was a very pleasant experience and i felt safe which i had been concerned about. This positive experience has given me the reassurance to go out more. So a big thumbs up - especially to the staff!
2 course set lunch for £17 - outstanding value and excellent food.
Casual restaurant with outstanding fresh fish. Enjoyed the “fresh off the boat” options and the fish and chips was really yummy. Nothing posh here- just great food.
Was my second visit to the Fish Market. We ate from the specials menu and had the mackerel pate to start and I had the sole and my friend the bream.
Both of us really enjoyed our fish, but it was a shame that the only type of potatoes available were chips.
Amazing lunch deal - great quality food and wine. Would definitely go again
Lovely food, great service, excellent location.
The food was lovely and the place looked great
Excellent food and great service. Thanks
Dined out on the Evening Standard promotional menu - Friday night fish and chip deal with drink. Excellent value, quality food and great service.
Loved the food and the decor, the service was a bit haphazard and we have been waiting some time to order and had to take out own coats from the hangers. Given the offer was great value, we didnt mind this!
Great fish, served by very friendly staff.
Excellent ES January offer including wine, with decent choices on the set menu. Mackerel pate starter was particularly good. All the hard surfaces and closely packed tables make the noise level pretty high.
Great first time visit to the Fish Market.
The overall service from James & the rest of the staff was outstanding, really felt valued as a customer which doesn’t happen often in London. And the offer menu from Evening Standard was brilliant value for money.
Food delicious, not too noisy, excellent value (Evening Standard deal), service friendly - great place to catch-up with friends. Recommended.
Prawn linguine was delicious
Absolutely outstanding experience took mum for her 50th birthday they did a special request! Service was beyond the best so prompt efficient and polite very friendly! Atmosphere was lovely and the food was even better! I would defiantly recommend to all and I will be returning. Thank you all x
Lovely people at the restaurant and very fresh fish. It would be delightful in the summer
Friendly staff, good ambience and food was nice for the value
Good experience very friendly staff. Food wasn’t to our liking but it’s down to what we ordered not the the restaurant
