Smelled fishy in the restaurant
Great fish. Perfectly cooked
service really very excellent ...fish fresh..price not unreasonable for standard of food
Went for a birthday, service was very very slow, wasn’t too impressed with that but the food was incredible!!!!
Fab restaurant for a casual meal, busy and buzzing atmosphere on the Wednesday night we went, delicious food (the fish courses were slightly let down by the rather drab lemon tart we had after) and fantastic, affordable wine selection, with many available by the carafe. Would definitely recommend.
Fresh and nice
Fresh Fish. Unless you have eaten really fresh fish you would never know how good it is .
Due to its fairly unique supply method this restaurant serves up fresh fish .
It’s a revelation
Incredibly tasty food, very nice atmosphere. It isn't cheap but it isn't crazy town prices, so great place for a celebration meal.
We’ve eaten here about half a dozen times, and will probably do so again, but there’s a few issues they need to work on. Pouring a glass of tepid tap water, and then taking the carafe away looks (and is) mean. The white wine fridge needs to be colder than it has been for some time. Some waiting staff are polite, but fairly perfunctory, others are more engaging. It’s not unreasonably expensive (by West London standards), but a 12.5% service charge slapped on a table of two people makes the bill feel inflated.
WE have eaten at Fishworks several times previously and always had a good time. Unfortunately not this time. A table of 4 pre booked for early 7.00pm dinner. Two of us ordered the whole Turbot off the counter £89 to share. We ordered it baked with fresh herbs. Fish was overcooked and the waiter struggled to fillet and had to use a spoon to scrape it off the bone. We ended up with very dry heaps of crumbled fish. Very disappointing. to top it off I then received a no show message from Opentable despite me clearly giving my name at check in. Not the normal standard i have come to expect at Fishworks.
Lovely West End restaurant with a neighbourhood feel about it. Attentive service, friendly staff. Food excellent, all four of us had great starters/main courses and shared a couple of desserts. Been several times now, just wish they would bring back the prawn cocktail and the Lobster Linguine, apart from that no complaints.
Been here several times before and food has always been excellent. Sadly this time not as good as normal - different chef?? However service very good. Will return despite my disappointment.
Food was mediocre at best. The bread came at the end of the meal. Some things were not available even though it was pretty early which is understandable but disappointing.
Lovely fresh food. Good value lunchtime menu at £18 for 2 courses.
Wish this restaurant was in our neighborhood! Fresh fish, multiple varieties and preparation. Simple food well prepared. Good service and interesting wines. We’ed return in a heartbeat!
Really enjoyed our dinner at Fish Works, fresh good quality fish is what this place does best. Great portion sizes too. As there is the fishmonger on the premises you can of course smell fish although not in any bad way.
Less than stellar experience. Rose wine special ordered, but arrived unchilled, waiter had to ice for 15 minutes before it was at an acceptable temperature. Oyster order, delivered incorrectly, replaced with apologies, but when brought back the manager who collected from the shuck station was unable to identify the oysters he was delivering. The fish special was less than one would expect. Flavor profiles were muddled, overall for the money paid a less than excellent experience. The bright spot was our waiter who did his best to compensate for the inadequacies. My second visit and I have little reason to return.
Great food, good service. Amazing wine - really appreciated the recommendation. Good for a special celebration dinner. Quite expensive so will be on the lookout for offers they often run.
Very good food and service, slightly spoilt by the group behind us who were extremely noisy.
had a fresh turbot i thought slightly overcooked and dont like to see black skin fish good quality but better in wiltons and bentleys
good vegetables good service good hearing poor shared 1st course of smoked fish .- should be better for 12 £
We had a great dishes, fish plates are wonderful, and brill was the special of the day, which was nicely grilled with lemon butter. Very satisfied with the taste, volume. And the price was very reasonable. We went there by 6 people and spent truly happy hours with wonderful seafood.
The food was good but they run a con with bread and olives. Waiter unsolicited asks would you care for bread without disclosing that 4 slices cost 4 pounds. He also mumbled something that sounded like “olive oil for that. Which turned out to be olives with pesto oil and billed at 3.5 pounds. No disclosure of these charges is deceptive
Booked late Saturday afternoon for dinner at 7.30pm after a day shopping Great service, lovely atmosphere and beautiful cooked fished. Would recommend the mixed fish grill and the mackerel pate starter. Very attentive waiter but without being “too” attentive. Will go back. If your brave enough order from the fish counter before you walk in ( you can go up and offer once seated) Very fresh and an amazing choice. A really good find 😀 and will be back again.
We love the whole atmosphere of this place – relaxed, friendly and very accomodating. A definite for our next visit to London. The beer battered cod was outstanding and blackened mackerel went down very well with my husband. I had requested a table near a fan / airconditioning / window and the team did me proud with a lovely breezy spot at the back of the restaurant. Service was outstanding. Thanks for a lovely evening.
I’ve been to Fishworks before & enjoyed it but there were disappointing issues with things this time for my party of four.
Two starters which were salad based came with a very strong mustard dressing & both were returned for credit. I enjoyed a fish soup & my chum enjoyed his mussels
The grilled seafood dish was good but included a scallop & two small prawns & two sea bass fillets. I though £27 quite a lot for this.
The ladies had two sea bass dishes & my chum had mackerel fillets. We had two portions of chips & two green sides.
We shared one bowl of 2 ice cream balls of ice cream & another dessert dish was shared.
We chose a bottle of £30 wine
I was really surprised that the meal came to £200 for the 4 of us for what we had. It was annoying that the two starters remained on the bill which were then removed.
So that’s £200 for two starters, 4 main courses with some sides, a bottle wine & two desserts.
I doubt we will be back at these prices.
Perfect place to drop in for a light lunch. Great service and great fish.
Particularly liked the tiny bit of brownie with the coffee.
Was truly excellent. Staff were very good, food served promptly and tasted delicious. Was a lovely lunch with our son. We will be back.
Great food, very good value
Friendly and competent staff, excellent food and wine.
Service was a bit hit and miss - although very friendly. a good spot for a fish lunch.
Busy night so had to wait for quite awhile between courses
Lunch with a few friends was perfect overall. I will return again soon.
Food was average and way overpriced. The setting was nothing special.
Some of the freshest fish ever eaten - would highly recommend. Great service and ambience too
Great ambiance and food
As always an interesting ever changing menu great selection of fish and wines
I thoroughly enjoyed my evening with my date at the Fishworks restaurant in Marylebone. The food was super tasty and and the service very good. Would definitely dine here again with friends or as a couple.
Great quality seafood. I ordered the mix grilled seafood and it was excellent!
So accommodating of my dietary requirements and the food was cooked to perfection
