The food is tasty - but not particularly good value for money. It felt like a cheap atmosphere - high churn and not somewhere you could relax and enjoy the evening. Service dreadful, really. Served by at least 6 different people and we realised after we’d paid that we weren’t brought one of our dishes (we were sharing lots of small plates). My soy sauce dish was dirty as I sat down at the table - enough that whoever put it out should gave noticed. Just a general lack of care overall.
If you want Japanese sharing food, go somewhere else - lots of options around and I’d highly recommend Sticks ‘n’ Sushi.
Great food but over the night we had to consistently ask for attention to order drinks or food. We had several different waiters over the evening so we never knew who was actually serving us.
Ambience was great, decent value- if on the high side.
The food is amazing!!
Brilliant as always - we will be back! Great food, amazing atmosphere
Bad service. Overpriced as well. If you are nearby better go to on the Bab which is way way way better and for less money as well.
Delicious food. We got the Theatre package deal and were more than satisfied with the amount we got. Absolutely delicious food and friendly service. It was a little noisy and because we were sharing a table with others it made it a little hard to hear but I'd still go back!
I'm lactose intolerant and the staff were very knowledgeable about allergens and brought me an individual menu after crossing out things containing dairy. There were a large amount of dishes i could still eat.
Very good and extremely great flavours. Fab service too
Vegetarians need not fear when coming here. The miso-aubergine bao has come to the rescue..... The mushroom bao is also fantastic. Friendly service (except when we were told on arrival that we'd have to vacate our Tuesday night 8pm table in 2 hours. What was the rush? The place was cleared out by then... ) great ambience.. would recommend.
All great and the staff amazing, especially Nancy!
I had a pleasant dinner thanks to the good food and very kind and friendly staff
The 3 of us had heavy stomachache after the dinner.
Very good food. Pre theatre deal is good vaul. Would go back.
Went for the £24 3-course set menu. All three courses were amazing! The service was spectacular which made the ambiance amazing!
The food was outstanding. We had the Spatchcock Chicken and the BBQ Beef Short Ribs. Both were cooked to perfection and went well with the soft, fluffy buns. I will be adding Flesh & Bones to my list of go to places!
Delicious food, coolest look venue, amazing service
I wish I had room fo dessert but we ordered 13 plates of other food
Absolutely terrible service, orders were taken wrongly and people food all arriving at different times. Drinks spilled as the waitress while taking them off the tray and weren’t replaced. Then was expected to pay £40 in service charge?
Also very noisy and unclean in areas and certainly not relaxing what so ever.
Such a shame as when it first opened I had some great times there but over the years it’s slowly lost its charm and edge. After my last experience my friends and I won’t be returning.
Great ambiance. However, to noise was to loud, to many tables within a confined space, one could not get out between table and seating or between tables alltogether without moving one (and with next table neighbour sometimes difficult and spilling of water/drinks is not uncommon)
It is too expensive now for what you get. The food portions have halved in the last 12 months. Very disappointing.
Lovely food very tasty and fresh. The pre theatre menu was a good price. Only complaint would be being told about 6 times between booking and arrival at the table that the booking is just for 2 hours, We only needed to be told once.
Good overall but main issue is with the starters/raw sections of the menu. Pretty small portions and not great value compared to other similar restuarants imo. Had tempura sushi roll but it was 5 bits, 2 of which were ends and 1 of those was literally all tail. No meat. And it was £12/13 I think. The mains were very nice and I loved the Izakaya theme having just come back from Japan.
Gave meat when I was veg
I am a regular and love this place, but noticed on my most recent visit that portion sizes have gone down while prices have not. I will definitely be back, but perhaps not as often now, given this change.
Food was amazing, unfortunately service was awful.
Unreal food and great service:
A great place to bring people visiting london, as you can order a few different different dishes and share them. its a great way to try lots of things on the menu, and everything we tried was amazing.
The layout/ lighting and ambiance is perfect for groups and for couples. I have been there on a couple of occasions now and it is never too noisy but still has an energetic vibe. will definitely be back again.
Came back for the Japanese fried chicken with buns, was good, slightly greasy but crispy and flavoured well. Sushi was pretty average, spicy tuna was good. Their famous s’mores were good fun also! Good selection of yummy drinks.
Flesh & Buns is probably my favourite restaurant in London, love the design of place and the service is always great. The food is absolutely incredible, the Korean wings and Japanese fried chicken are mouth-watering highlights and the beef hot stone rice is to die for ! Already counting down the days until we can go again !
Food is absolutely delicious, this was my third time going and I would go back again and again. Really nice atmosphere also.
We three friends went to Flesh & Buns for Sunday Brunch and added bottomless Prosecco to celebrate a special birthday. The food was amazing, our waitress explained what everything on the menu was and that it would be served as it was ready so that it was all freshly cooked. Our glasses were kept topped up with Prosecco and we were well looked after. As it was not extremely busy we were not hurried out and we felt very comfortable chatting over a herbal tea until we were ready to leave. I will certainly go back again.
The food was good, but quite small portions comparing to the price. I had the smallest ever orange juice glass... We sat literally squeezed in between other people at a long table. I understand space is scarce in London, but they could have left a bit more space in between plates...I didn’t particularly enjoy listening to everybody’s conversations and having to keep my elbows close to my body at all times due to the lack of space.
Myself and my partner chose this as we wanted some good Japanese food. Very good quality food and enjoyed the bao buns. The seating, on a bench, was interesting but we didn’t mind. Some minor pauses in service but often had our drinks topped up and staff were very polite. Would recommend.
Food is usually great, unfortunately this time the broccoli and the salmon were burnt, and the edamame we ordered didn't arrive with appetizers, and when we notified the staff they brought it while we were in the middle of our main dishes. Service is usually slow, but staff is always very friendly. Would come again:)
Seating arrangements awful. Felt like we were eating squished on the central line during rush hour.
Ceviche had little to none fish.
Had to send piglet belly back as it has a awful smell and taste, made us both slightly queasy. Both of us being chefs understand not everyone may like every dish but it also means we understand when a dish is not quite right, and this wasn’t.
Good food but poor service. We went as a group of five for a nice meal out on a Friday and were extremely disappointed. Very rude staff and we constantly felt like we were being rushed out the door. Wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend.
Incredible food! Much better than some
Of the high end, more expensive Asian restaurants I’ve been to.
Food was great and the service was really good ... will definitely go there again !
Really good food. Very sweet staff, although the pace is a bit slow.
