Flesh & Buns
Below street-level, the restaurant has a bar area offering bar dining for up to 10 people, serving a variety of sake brands and a diverse range of cocktails including the signature Frozen Yuzu Margarita, alongside the restaurant’s varied sharing food menu. Draped fabric ‘noren’ screen curtains surround intimate dining booths and transport diners to an authentic Japanese drinking den experience – bookable and ideal for groups of friends or colleagues meeting for lunch, dinner or Flesh & Buns’ ever-popular Sunday Brunch.
Butter tataki was a surprising delight, but honestly the sushi is terrible would not recommend
The only thing that i would come here is dessert and cocktails
Service was excellent. Food tasted delicious & was quick.
Good atmosphere and great service. Food generally very good but the Japanese fried chicken was no better than KFC! At nearly 70 a head I thought it wasn't great value for money.
My daughter recommended F prawn tempura rolls warm and tasty, salmon teriyaki beautifully presented and mouth watering; soft, perfect steamed bao... and so much more! Lychee martini was dangerously yum. Friendly but unobtrusive service; buzzy atmosphere. Very very good indeed.
Great food as always. We regularly dine here. Worst part of the experience is how the minute you walk in the door they tell you they need the table back in two hours. I hate hate hate this! Usually the speed of service is what determines how long a meal takes so in my opinion it’s down to the restaurant to manage that rather than make you feel unwelcome on arrival. Also, the tables are very tightly packed, have had a few scenarios where I literally feel I’m dining with the people next to me!
Very tasty pre-theatre Asian Fusion menu. Prompt and courtesy service at a very fair price.
We have been to Flesh &Buns a few times, and it's gotten a lot worse recently. Food is dry (duck was unusually dry, teriyaki salmon similarly so), and service was a lot worse (slow, cold staff) than what we were were used to from . They also adjusted their menu for buns to exclude any sides, so they are charging extra for three slices of cucumber and a leaf of
Very good place for a romantic meal. I was able to have a really nice drink with many of my close friends who I was acquainted with. Has a authentic Japanese feel and also allows you to experience a little bit of the culture! 10/10. Defo would come back. Pricing is decent for the quality!
The pig belly was under cooked and tasteless this time..
Amazing food for good set menu price and topped off with wonderful service by Mary-Jane! Would definitely recommend
Third time coming here in the past 4 months for dinner and is by far my favourite restaurant in London!
Loved the set menu of three courses! Good options that will appeal to most, as well as allowing you to taste the star of the the show - the 'Flesh & Buns' and divine desserts (rather unexpectedly!) Donuts and Creme Brûlée are highly recommended. Smores looked amazing at the next table over. As for 'Flesh & Buns' I'd recommend the duck leg, the piglet belly or even the fried chicken! Very impressed by the service that the boyfriend even tipped (something he doesn't do often!)
Great food. Fun atmosphere
It was what we expected, a casual & relax atmosphere, ok for me it can be a little bit noisy but it’s tolerable. The service is friendly, nothing is a bother with our servers & the food was good too. I can recommend the sticky chicken, steak & of course the buns. I’ll surely comeback here again. We had a lovely evening.
Had dinner there with a friend who was visiting London. Services was great and the food even better. Nice relaxed ambience. We both enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend.
We went to Flesh and Buns before going to the Donmar Theatre just next door. As always, the service was quick and the food delicious. We had the duck and crispy pork belly--and with the sauces and buns, they were a taste treat. The aubergine is meltingly good and I had a great non-alcoholic cocktail. All is all, a great meal and not too expensive.
Wonderful tasting menu served by the friendliest of staff.
Flesh & Buns Covent Garden - 1st time visit. Was pleasantly surprised. Food was good, service was excellent. Would recommend. Prices were reasonable.
We absolutely loved our meal at Flesh and Buns, we had the pre theatre menu and great value with 3 courses for £24. The food was delicious and very plentiful, we will definitely be returning.
Great service, delicious food , lovely wine and good atmosphere. Have frequented this restaurant numerous times & I love coming back every time.
Will be back soon !!!
Lovely food and great atmosphere. Perhaps a bit expensive for what it is but I really enjoyed.
Every time have friends visit me, flesh and bun always the best choice!
The server was very helpful in providing us with suggestions and was very attentive.
Great service and amazing food! Really loved the ambiance of the restaurant as well. Will definitely come back soon. The smores are a must try - didnt expect to enjoy passion fruit-flavored marshmallows so much!!
Not cheap but worth the money. Very tasty. Staff very friendly.
Ottimo cibo, bell'atmosfera
The staff brought extra buns with a smile every time. Itt was a pleasure to be served by them
Amazing flavors and great service
Tasty and interesting food, great atmosphere, friendly staff and served nice and quickly!
We discovered Flesh and Buns while looking for a place to dine at Covent Garden. They did not disappoint!! The food was fun and creative, with a great blend of flavors! We enjoyed the vegetarian options in particular: the spicy edemame, corn and aubergine. The bao buns were light and airy. Our only comment is that some the portions are enormous and we wish our server had warned us about this.
And... don’t miss eating the Mochi; a perfect bite to end a great meal!
I only ever used to go to this place on a sunday for their bottomless brunch but they've changed it so its not fully bottomless now and the wine is no longer included in the deal so works out more expensive, not such good value for money now, food is still great but i wont be coming here as often, maybe once per year instead of once a month. All good things come to an end.
First experience was excellent, would definitely return!
Prosecco was flowing and the amount of food was unbelievable... It also tasted amazing and looked beautiful!
Great food, service not bad. They accommodated us, even though we arrived early. My only issue is that if you have food left over, they have no provisions to allow you to take home what is left over and have paid for. Effectively yours. Especially when you pay £160 for two adults two children.
We even asked for some tin foil, so that we could wrap up the food. They couldn’t do this.
Well worth going, food was fantastic and the staff were attentive, even at a busy time.
I little brother who is 12yrs old love it. He is a little bit difficult to please but he loved this place specially the dessert ( marshmallows with biscuits)
My only complaint would be the quantity of food related with the price.
In general the dishes could have a bigger portion or be cheaper, that's why I prefer to go on Sunday Brunch, pay a bit more per person but try the delicious menu until there is no room for more!
Fantastic good, atmosphere and service. This review.
A lively restaurant which I went to with my boys. We all enjoyed the food
Love Flesh and Buns! Thanks for another amazing meal guys :)
Great food and idea but service was very poor. Got order wrong numerous times, confusing us with another table and also taking a very long time to pay the bill.
