All the food was delicious when I went service was a little slow because of short staff but the food was worth wait.
The pasta was cooked perfectly. The staff was very friendly.
Elegant setting and delicous eats. Good place to send off a colleague to a new job.
Food was delicious and prepared perfectly. Service was outstanding. I would go back!
The server (Quinton) was very spacey and forgot several requests (iced tea that we ordered, lemon etc). But the food and ambiance were lovely.
It was very good overall! The meal was outstanding but my favorite part was their hazelnut gelato; definitely get it if they have it. But overall I loved the food, the service, and the atmosphere. I will definitely be going back the next time I’m in DC!
Even though they were 15min from scheduled closing, we were welcomed with outstanding customer service. The food was magnificent and inexpensive. Highly recommend *
This is an awesome restaurant! Staff is wonderful and the food has been terrific for years.
Floriana has become my favorite DC restaurant. EVERYTHING on the menu is fantastic and their wine list is excellent. The staff is extremely professional. Floriana is a wonderful dining experience.!
Once again Floriana was a great experience. Fantastic service, great food, great setting.
It was a very hot day and neither the A/C nor the ceiling fan was working. They should have warned us. The service was very slow and the food very ordinary. A disappointment.
The wait staff was very attentive
It was the best meal I have had in area. Small menu. Very reasonable prices. Good service. Nice cocktails. Nothing we didn't enjoy. Compared to not enjoying a single meal where we stayed in National Harbor. I understand a tourist area vs a neighborhood gem doesn't need to clear the same bar. We are from out of town but this cute little spot and OT saved the DC area food venue for me. A Georgtown and Alexandria spot were good as well; this was better all around.
It’s always a perfect experience at Floriana. That’s why I always bring friends and family that are visiting DC here. The food, the service, the atmosphere. Always are great.
Good service. Great bread and pesto. Good calamari. Brussels Sprouts were outstanding. Lasagna was plentiful (could’ve easily served 2) and butternut gnocchi was good. Lovely wine.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Dupont Circle. The atmosphere is fun and sophisticated at the same time! The service is wonderful and the food is delicious.
Always my favorite neighborhood place.
Friendly and welcoming staff, attentive service, great selection of wines, innovative menu, and wonderful food -- it doesn't get better than that.
Small menu allows for high quality food, quick and personalable service, intimate and romantic setting. Will definitely be returning.
Had a fab time last night celebrating our anniversary. Butternut ravioli great as was beet salad snd scallops.
As always excellent food and service.
Very relax atmosphere.
All was good as always. Little disappointed in the calamari. Usually much better than last night.
We had a wonderful time!
Floriana never disappoints. A local gem, definitely.
Exceptional service; Really great food!
Very good ambience
Maitre'd and wait staff were extremely attentive and welcoming. Food was delicious, cosmos terrific. A real neighborhood gem.
The tuna and tiramisu were sooo delicious! And the staff was lovely. The bugs bit me up - but that's what to deal with when you eat outside. I would definitely go back.
Floriana has a great vibe, great service, and great food.
Fabulous as always! Would highly recommend to anyone living or visiting DC.
Took the server forever to come and take out order. We both knew when they brought the bread and pesto the entree was going to be lacking as well. Every food item was missing salt. It was bland and practically tasteless. We both had about 5 bites of our food then were done. Thankfully the tiramisu was good because we were both seriously hungry. The server never came back after taking our order so she would never know that our food was horrible or maybe we could have resolved this in some way. What’s was really the cherry on top, As we were waiting to have our checks brought, a rat almost ran across my feet!!
We sat outside and definitely enjoyed the evening’s dinner. The staff are very attentive and helped with some good recommendations on wine. I’d say it was wonderful date, since he said the same!
I'm going to give them a little bit of a pandemic pass with this review, but it wasn't a good experience. It was a beautiful day in DC so we sat outside on the patio, but the traffic noise was loud, especially when the truck showed up to pump out the grease trap. The waiter was friendly, but the service was slooowwwwww. The calamari appetizer was very good, but it arrived two hours after we sat down. The entrees arrived 2 1/2 hours after sitting down (2 lasagnas, a salad and the gnocchi). They were good, but very late. We're just very glad that it was a beautiful day in DC.
Excellent service and very good food. Pasta, salad and bread were all clearly fresh. One small thing was the table was extremely wobbly and threated to spell every glass on the stable every time you touched the table. The waiter quickly put a shim under which fixed the problem. So, again, excellent service, To bad it required intervention after we were seated. A little pricy, but I think one must be willing to pay for excellent service and fresh tasty food.
First visited Floriana when we were in Wilmington, NC for spring break. We requested a dish with a Pomodoro sauce (which is not specifically on the menu) and it was fantastic. Butternut squash ravioli and squid-ink pasta was also a hit. The food and ambiance were incredible, so we were thrilled to hear they happened to have a location in DC (our hometown).
Went to the DC location to celebrate Father’s Day and it was a complete success! Everyone loved the location, ambiance, food and wine (bottles are half-off on Wednesdays and Sundays). The host and waiter were extremely helpful and gave us amazing wine recommendations. And we were able to get the same, off-menu Pomodoro sauce with the pasta.
Thanks for making our Father’s Day so wonderful. Can’t wait to visit again!
Fantastic restaurant Great salad Great calamari GREAT STEAK Great dessert Will return soon
Absolutely fabulous service and food. Love this place!
An 11 star rating out of 5!!! This will be long but worth it. We were in DC on vaca and looking for great restaurants. Our last night we ate at Floriana. I wish it had been earlier as we may have eaten here every night. The location was in a trendy and fun area in/near Dupont Circle and close to the Metro stop. The restaurant is in a historic house and everything was original and gorgeous. Even though it was muggy out, we ate inside and the air-conditioning was perfect. The restrooms even had their own designated ac unit to keep you perfectly cool. Now to the food! We started with the calamari, which was prepared in house, you could tell. It was wonderfully seasoned and cooked to perfection. I didn't even need the amazing marinara sauce it was served with. The warm and spectacular bread was served with their house made pesto sauce. What a treat and my son and I ate it up. My husband who is not a fan of pesto could not stop eating it as well. I even put some on the calamari. To die for! We had the tortellini, the butternut squash ravioli, and the lasagna. All pasta was home made and was apparent from the first glance. They have someone make their pasta daily and it makes an incredible difference in the quality of the meal. The ravioli and tortellini were made to perfection, cooked just the right amount, and the sauces were flavorful and vibrant. Not too little food and not too much, which is not always the case. The ravioli was BETTER than my own, which blew my mind. My son could not stop eating it and it was truly the best lasagna I have ever had. Normally it wouldn't be a dish I would order, as I have never had it so beautifully made, but I would order this every time at Floriana...and the piece was very generous. The flavors exploded in your mouth and the meat was tender and not overwhelming. The wine selection was vast. Juan our server was so kind and attentive and the manager Bat came and chatted for a while. He even gave us some pesto to go with bread. AMAZING!
Perfect as always
Love the place - a local gem. Food is delicious and well priced.
They only have a brunch menu during Sat and Sun lunch time, but even that one is delicious (lasagna, duck hash).
