Really lovely evening, welcoming and cheerful staff. Food was fantastic.
This is a restaurant which shows how flavoursome vegetarian cooking can be.
Lovely staff and food! Was in Brighton and seen good reviews so booked...worth a visit for sure!
I love food for friends for it’s inventive flavours and great vegan options. Everyone I take here, regardless of their diet, has a great meal and wants to go back.
Exceptional tastes. Wish I had tried here before as even though I am not vegetarian it was great. Desserts were to die for. Scotch egg with delicious mayo was a really great surprise.
The restaurant was very good and the waitresses were all very nice. There was a nice selection of food with them all being vegetarian. I would highly recommend it, and will be going again.
We have eaten at Food for Friends in the past - always found the dishes interesting, with tasty and unusual flavour combinations. This visit was therefore disappointing. Three of us each chose different dishes, all were simply bland. A shame, as this used to be a restaurant of choice for good vegetarian food (even though we are not vegetarians) in Brighton. Service was fine and our waitress friendly, but because of the disappointing food unfortunately we wouldn't now recommend it or visit again.
Really lovely food. Portions were just right. The organic Pino Grigio was delicious too.
Staff were very friendly and attentive.
The restaurant itself was clean and well presented, and great for people watching.
Pleasing experience all round.
Food for Friends had become my favourite veggie restaurant over the years. I was disappointed this time because I felt it had lost its usual friendliness. Perhaps it was just our waitress.
She apologised profusely to us when one of the staff dropped something noisy... it's a restaurant, these things happen and we were more upset by her simpering that by the noise. I don't like having my wine glass monitored and filled up; it makes me feel like I'm being hurried along. I detest being called 'madame'.
The food was still very good and the wine delicious but I really didn't appreciate the mannerisms. It made us feel ill at ease and we couldn't wait to get out.
Great place for vegetarians and vegans. Had a lively atmosphere. Great location too.
Absolutely delicious food for vegans and meat eaters alike. Very warm and charming atmosphere with great service.
This has to be the best vegetarian restaurant around. Delicious food, fantastic decor/ambience and ace staff. 10/10
Great food as usual and we don’t mind driving 40 miles for the pleasure
Fabulous little restaurant
Cosy in all the right ways
Food was amazing
Service was friendly and attentive
Just couldnot fault it
I have already recommended this place to people I know
Every chef should be made to eat at this restaurant so they understand that veggie and vegan food can be interesting and full of flavour. Really enjoyed our meal.
Always outstanding! Imaginative, veggie/vegan, and often organic.
Worth booking ahead at weekends as it can get busy.
Lovely veggie food and attentive staff would recommend to others
Excellent food with attentive, knowledgeable staff and a great variety of dishes to choose from!
Excellent vegetarian restaurant in Brighton. Went there with two family members who are not vegetarian who both really enjoyed it. Starters were excellent – selection of dips and flat bread. Main courses – vegetarian curry, stuffed mushrooms and vegetarian burger were all wonderful. Highlight though was there deserts – sticky toffee pudding and vegan cheesecake. It is understandably very popular and you are strongly advised to book well in advance – especially for Friday and Saturday evenings.
The tofu wraps were out of this world and the service was brilliant, we always have a fantastic time here
Just stunning. The food is bursting with flavour and creativity and the staff are super friendly even at very busy times. This is the second time I have eaten here and I deliberately came back because I was so impressed with the vegan food. I also had to push my reservation back twice due to traffic and they were so good about it - even on a bustling Thursday evening. Super food, smashing ambience, and simply enjoyable. Thanks for what you’re doing guys.
The service was amazing and so friendly.Food was extremely tasty.Highly recommend to anyone. We had
a fantastic evening for a special occasion.
The food was good, the service was good to begin with however the first waitress’ shift finished and a new one started - and we then just got ignored.. so we had to go to the bar to ask for the bill. I also think that the food was slightly overpriced although it was good quality.
I have dined here in the past and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. This time for some reason it felt a bit lack lustre. I brought a friend here for the first time and I don't think she would come again. She had the soup of the day which was very bland. We did make that comment and they gave us a coffee free of charge to compensate. I had the Burger which was nice, not sure I would put it first on my list to eat in Brighton again though.
For a non vegetarian I had back up plans to go and have a burger after dining at this restaurants as it was my first time ever being to a full vegetarian/Vegan restaurant! But I was surprised that I left the restaurant feeling so full and satisfied and that the food without meat can taste so good and filling!
Great fresh food and very friendly service
We all enjoyed our meals, the only problem being that both my offspring found the dishes very filling, so that they couldn't finish their main courses and I was the only one able to enjoy a pudding (vegan cheescake, very nice). Also there weren't quite as many menu choices as perhaps there could have been, in order to tempt us back.
As a vegan I am happy fff exists! Nice food and lovely staff. The consistency of the sevive is really poor though, I have noticed it every time I have come. Lots of different waitresss, No-one clearing dirty dishes, no attention to drinks being needed, no desert menu offered etc. It ruins things a little as you are constantly looking to catch someone’s eye!! But I like it here and maybe that’s just their style.. so I will always return when in Brighton and recommend it!
Had a lovely meal here on Saturday evening. Great to be able to eat anything on the menu. Food arrived very quickly and was lovely and fresh. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Would come back again.
Lovely interior in a great location in Brighton. Would prefer more options on the main courses. Service could have been better, not as friendly and welcoming as I expected. I would not make a special effort to go again as I did for this visit.
My first visit to a vegetarian restaurant with my two grown up son's. I was amazed the ambiance and welcome were excellent the waiting staff fun courteous and very friendly. The food was quite simply amazing visual appeal and fantastic flavours all combined to give a really very enjoyable dining experience. well done we will be back.
Always lovely food and friendly staff! We are finding it difficult to get beyond the sharing platter - The scotch eggs are sublime! Who'd have thought a scotch egg would be so delicious!
Good vegetarian restaurant. Plenty of flavour on the food and comfortable place. Service average but acceptable.
Our favourite vegetarian restaurant
Overall, I was very pleased with the service, the food and the friendliness of everyone. We will stop by again.
Lovely as always!! Amazing food! Lovely waitresses.
All that could be improved is the communication on arrival.
Many told to wait for table in small waiting area - would have been nice touch to offer us a drink.
The most incredible food my partner and I have had in a very long time! A very special way to celebrate our anniversary! The staff went above and beyond to make our dining experience a memorable one. Never been to Brighton but we will sure be returning just to dine here again!
This long-established vegetarian restaurant is much changed from the buffet-style eating place I first went to in the eighties!! It has expanded since then but isn't big so booking is a good idea. The food is lovely - everything we had was so tasty and beautifully presented - and very filling. My friends and I had met to celebrate a birthday - this was acknowledged with complementary chocolate truffles which were delicious! Service was very good but we did not feel rushed.
Overall ... a very pleasant experience and I shall return!
I've enjoyed this restaurant previously but this meal was disappointing, bland, under-seasoned, unpleasant textures. They seem to be dropping their standards - big shame.
Really disapointing. Coasting on an old reputation, maybe? Not helped by being sat by an open patio door directly opposite a pub full of revellers & a few police cars. Cocktail was amazing, starter was fine but average, main was better but still average, both meals had the ingredients I was looking forward to (pomegranate & goats cheese) in stingy, barely there proportions. I'd heard the desserts were great, but we got out of there as soon as we could & won't be going back.
Staff were all making an effort to be nice, but were clearly harried & stressed. I didn't get the impression it was a nice place to work.
