Amazing food, beautifully presented, friendly flexible service. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Gorgeous food and superb friendly staff. Would recommend and will definitely come again
The food was wonderful, really tasty for me though the choice was a bit limited for my friend who is gluten free and dairy free and vegan.
It was a busy Tuesday evening when we went and the service was unusually long.
Wish we had a restaurant everywhere. We had the roast dinner and it was amazing. Filling and the taste was unreal. Great service will definitely be going back. I’m
Not a vegetarian and it made me want to eat that way everyday.
Whenever we go to Brighton we always eat here. I am not a vegetarian, and although my wife is, I find the food stunning, great flavours. In my opinion the service and the ambience is second to none. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Delicious vegetarian food even for a carnivore as myself!
Great vegetarian and vegan food in smart casual surroundings with friendly and efficient service. We all loved it! Will definitely eat there again.
It was good, not as good as it previously had been and the open ravioli was a bit ‘basic’
What a super meal we had for my friends’ 50th birthday special meal out! The welcome by the staff was fab, and we were shown to a fabulous table right in the window where it was perfect for people watching!
The sparkling rose wine that we ordered was beautiful. Really pale in colour and very tasty. We had olives and a trio of dips to share as a starter, the presentation of the trio of dips was brilliant and the food taste lovely.
I ordered a portobello mushroom and potato gratin dish which was so delicious and very nicely presented. My friend had halloumi burger which looked scrummy!
Finally, we chose not to have dessert as we were very full up. A lovely surprise was then brought out for my friend to wish her happy birthday (see phot attached).
All in all a really lovely experience and I will happily return next time I’m in Brighton!
Amazing food. We went for my daughter's birthday and the staff sang to her and made her dessert special.
A great experience all round and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
I've wanted to eat at Food for Friends for years and finally booked a table on this trip to Brighton. The food was very disappointing - the crispy tofu was just this side of burned and the arancini was stodgy and bland (asparagus and poached egg were fine). My husband's halloumi, peach salad was better but nothing special. Desserts were nothing special either.
We won't be back.
The waitress was nice - friendly and efficient.
Excellent food and service as usual .
Like the new cocktail menu too
Food for Friends never disappoints. Great food, great service and probably my favourite restaurant in the whole of Brighton.
An evening meal to which we've looked forward was spoiled by incredibly slow service and by awful desserts, an inedible, rock-solid STP and an Eton Mess that was 95% cream, both returned and not paid for. Staff were duly apologetic, but there was no manager on the premises to deal with the lack of service, and, worse still, no chef available on Sundays to ensure the quality of the food. A discount on the bill and an offer of free coffee did not revive the experience.
The ambience of a window seat was spoiled by the presence outside of a barely-conscious vagrant, a problem in much of Brighton and obviously not down to Food for Friends in this case.
Overall, not an experience we'd care to repeat, certainly not on a Sunday.
Fantastic food and great options, service was quite slow but the food was worth the wait!
Starter quite bland,Sunday roast and summer berry eton mess fantastic.
Eating in the corridor between the two doors not the best place.
Our overall experience was ruined by chaotic and patronising waiting staff and having to sit in the sweltering sunshine by the windows while they prepared our tables, ten minutes after our booked slot.
The food was very good but not as one waiter asked me "How is your food, is it everything you ever dreamed and more besides?"
I go to Food for Friends because the food is delicious regardless of the season. The atmosphere is relaxed but lively at the same time. Desserts are to die for!
Having visited 20 years ago I was disappointed that the canteen was no longer in place and that the radical atmosphere had been sanitised into typical bougouis reastaurant. The name no longer fits?!
My starter was amazing - wow!? I had the croquettes - yum ... gourmet frankfurter flavoured potatoes... how did you do that?! I would have again!!!
The main was nice, but very ordinary... mushrooms with quinoa and goat cheese, disappointing. You get the texture of mushroom, a crunch from the quinoa and the sole flavour is goats cheese, I could imagine knocking it up in the oven myself, but wouldn’t as it isn’t great.
Excellent as always: lovely drinks, tastsy starters, beautiful main courses and delicious desserts!
Just great all round, cant fault it. We have always found the service amazing too
Food was so slow in coming we were late for show- do not recommend this restaurant if you are in a hurry, our main took an hour and 20mins to arrive and the food was average and wasn't worth the wait. It took so long they gave us one main as complimentary, so there seemed to be a problem in the kitchen? Some advice to the management- get more staff- your staff were run off their feet- working too hard and not adding to any relaxing dining. You need dedicated staff to clear the tables. I really do not like to sit in front of empty plates long after eating dinner. I noticed the table next to ours started to stack their own plates!?
I would also recommend putting new flowers on tables as ours and others were wilted headless or dead. Another thing that really put the nail in the coffin for this restaurant was the toilets, they were a shocking mess , dirty and with toilet paper all over the floor and had run out of toilet paper in one altogether. As I am on a roll 'scuse the pun- one more comment about the decor- it is literally grey and bland and looked like one of those household catalogues with matching vases on shelves and has zero character.
I was looking forward to eating here with my guest from London as I had told her how good it was supposed to be i.e. Good Food Guide 2018 and The Sunday Times’ Top vegetarian and vegan restaurants ( they may need to think again) but we were disappointed and well put off.
I love FfF. Staff always good fun and knowledgeable. Food always very good quality. My only grumble....toilets need more cleaning (my friend was shocked at the women's loo) and the mens loo was grubby too. The toilet seat needs changing and more regular cleaning. Apart from that very good experience.
Super food and super friendly staff. We came back next day for lunch with friends again.
Really disappointed that we were let down at multiple parts of the meal. In total our three courses took three hours to get to us. Although the staff were fair in deducting the cost of the one main and two desserts that were particularly late, it didn't compensate for the evening as a whole. Two of us hadn't been there before, and two of us had travelled 40 minutes to get there - all round all of us agreed that we wouldn't be in a rush to return.
We were excited to try this restaurant on our trip to Brighton but were disappointed. The service was extremelymely slow and the food was luke warm. My dish was inedible and I left almost all of it. The waiter took it away without even noticing. The drinks were good but not enough to warrant going here again
I had forgotten what a fabulous venue this was.. it was just perfect for a friends birthday lunch. the service was very friendly but not obtrusive and the food was diving
A great evening made extra special by Robbie our waiter, amazing attitude and really fun. Food was good, lots of choice for vegans and vegetarians.
I love this restaurant. The food is always outstanding and the service fantastic. I only marked the ambience down a bit as there was a big table next to us who were ridiculously loud which meant I struggled to hear my friend.
Lovely lunch, loads of things that would be great to try on the menu! Fab service, the staff were really warm and welcoming.
Seated in window , very hot . Went for early birthday treat as in Brighton for the mini run . Slightly disappointed as portions had shrunk considerably since last visit , only two very small roast potatoes with Sunday lunch , and few veg ! And price gone up .
It used to be cheaper and better value than Terre a Terre , but their positions have reversed , bigger better and similar price now at T a T .
Very tasty imaginative vegetarian cuisine and charming staff
Excellent welcome and service from all staff .
Creative menu . Good experience .
Excellent food and excellent service, as always! Favourite restaurant in Brighton! Many thanks to the FFF team. Zoe x
It was my second visit to the restaurant and I was very happy with the meal and the service. Would go back.
Lovely food & great service. Excellent first time here. We’ll be back!
A great lunch spot in a top spot in Brighton. Sharing platter was delicious. Good service.
Delicious vegetarian food which was perfect for sharing so we got to sample different dishes
I have always had consistently good food here. However, not this evening. The food was very average if that. We had the sharing plate which was uninspiring and certainly not worth £ 26. I also ordered a large house white wine which was served warm. I asked for a cold wine but received probably the same wine I sent back at same temperature and a glass full of ice. No sorry or explanation or offer of another wine that would be suitably chilled. Very off hand service and overall poor experience. As a Brightonian I won’t be back any time soon. Such a shame as with Terre a Terre used to be best veggie restaurant in town
Recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. I am not vegetarian myself but I found the food absolutely delicious. The service was great, our waitress was very friendly and could recommend things to do in the area. I would definitely go back. Thanks for the amazing meal!
