Food for Friends Ratings and Reviews
Exceptional food, great atmosphere.
Front of house make you feel welcome and valued as soon as you arrive.
Food is amazing, none of our party are vegan or vegetarian but the food is out of this world. In fact the new diners in our party, actually said they didn’t even miss the meat in the Sunday roast 😂 my Only regret ... as a Coeliac I was unable to have the ‘roast’ maybe there could be a GF option introduced to the menu.
Compliments to the Chef
Definitely worth seeking out this little diamond!
Another great meal and excellent service. Really enjoyed the aubergine starter and the hummus nibble with basil bread. Creative vegetarian food, something different to the norm. As a non vegetarian I love eating here as it is often a new taste experience. The service was exceptional with the waiter being attentive and noticing we had humus left and brought us more bread to finish. I would recommend and hope to return soon.
Excellent food... Beautifully presented.. Nice ambience.. Was a little cold in the restaurant to start but the waitress v quickly organised to put the radiator on and we warmed up! Celeriac soup was fantastic and dessert was A M A Z I N G!! Best parfait ever! Went with my sister who is very tricky when ordering but the waitress dealt with her amazingly well.. Would definitely recommend to vegetarians.. Quite expensive but well worth it to feel so healthy after a 3 course dinner...
I booked food for friends through open table for a visit myself and my wife were making to Brighton. Neither of us have tried a vegetarian restaurant before and I can say we were delighted with the service, ambience and quality of the food it was beautifully cooked well presented and extremely tasty and satisfying. We would certainly eat at Food for Friends if we visit Brighton again.
Not our first visit ! We live in Manchester and visit Brighton each year and supper at Food for Friends is a must . We are not vegetarians but do not eat much meat and love the unusual and adventurous dishes on the menu . I am intolerant of raw onion , chives and spring onion and informed the restaurant of this when I booked our table . I was really impressed that the staff were aware of this on our arrival and once we had chosen our food the staff suggested one or two alternatives to replace the onion etc.(ingredients that had not actually been listed in the description on the menu). The food is absolutely delicious and highly recommended !
The food was absolutely delicious. As a vegetarian I am always on the look out for dedicated restaurants and special dishes. Too often the only option is a cafe, which I love, but is not suitable for all occasions. It was my birthday and I was brought a beautifully presented and delicious selection of chocolates, complete with a rendition of Happy Birthday! My only regret was I could not clone myself and eat twice as much. I also highly recommend the Black Forest cocktail, a dessert in a glass.
We simply had an amazing time at Food For Friends in Brighton. Our waitress, named Olga, was just wonderful and made the whole experience really beautiful. She was highly personable and helpful with regard to the menu.
When they eventually realised that it was our 5th wedding anniversary they told us that they wished we'd said in the first place as they would've done something special for us. Well that's simply wonderful, it was already fantastic without this extra gesture!
I should also mention that the food is exquisite!
Amazing service. Unexpectedly sang happy birthday and decorated my mother's dessert which was really appreciated. Alot of attention and care in our food and service. It was very high quality. Just a pity the vegan roasts run out so early. Would definitely recommend this for any family occasion. Thank you very much!
Me and my girlfriend came here to eat after researching it. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was excellent too. The food came quickly and the vegetarian options were very creative and did not disappoint. It was expensive for us but definitely worth the money.
Food for Friends is probably the best vegetarian restaurant going! The choice of dishes and ingredients is simply mouth watering. The staff are courteous, charming and helpful. Nothing is ever a problem. The light and airy setting in Food for Friends is a huge advantage over similar restaurants and makes for a fantastic venue to thoroughly enjoy a beautifully prepared meal. All I can say is, give it a try and you will be hooked, weather you are a vegetarian or not.
Definitely the best!!
This was the first time I had visited Food for Friends in about 20 years and I was not disappointed. As a vegetarian, it was lovely to have a choice of imaginative dishes which were tasty and flavoursome. The service was friendly and unobtrusive and the ambience was fab. The tables were not too close together and so we could chat comfortably! If we are in Brighton again we will definitely be back!
This was the second visit to this restaurant. After a mistake the first time (but with still very tasty food...) we decided to come back during a second visit and bring family with us!
This was WELL WORTH the 2nd trip. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was great, the waitress was knowledgeable and we felt very welcome and special.
I would recommend this to any diner, not just those seeking vegetarian or vegan.
We will come again I'm sure!
