As always, very very impressed by Food for Friends....fantastic imagination and presentation of perfect veggie dishes....took an unrepentant meat eater along who was blown away!
We had a wonderful experience at Food for Friends on Sunday night, from the excellent staff with attention to detail second to none to the choice of starters and mains we could not fault it. I am a vegan and i was pleasantly surprised at the choice of food for vegans, even several desserts !. Everything was cooked to perfection, we were still talking about the food days after we had our night out. My husband is a meat eater but loves vegetarian food and this did not disappoint him, he also was really impressed with the dessert , as was i. We also thought that there was plenty of choice alcohol wise, we chose a bottle of wine, beautiful quality and very good value. We would highly recommend Food for Friends to anyone, couples, group of friends, families who are looking for a top quality meal with great service and comfortable environment.
I'm not a vegetarian but my partner is, but if all vegetarian restaurants served food with as much flavor as Food for Friends I could eat it all the time. Excellent staff and service. This was, without question, the best food I had during my stay in Brighton.
Service was excellent, guy who served us was very entertaining and certainly made the meal extra special. The food was absolutely stunning but I’m a veggie so was perfect to me but my husband was ok about it but not sure he would go back, however I would I loved it!
Amazing Sunday roast dinners!
Beautifully cooked and presented and we didn't have to wait long. Attentive service.
We're from out of town, London, but always drop in here on visits to Brighton. GF having a veggie month so this is a go-to for such times. Not as good as I remember (similar time last year), still a creative menu and nice food but overall experience not as enjoyable this time. Portions could definitely be a little more generous in my opinion, although GF was full enough. Lack of cheese board was lamentable, but guess they don't want to alienate the vegans.
Have eaten here before and had some great food. Not on this occasion. Very disappointing.
Great food, great atmosphere and very good service. Loved it.
Visited a number of times when in Brighton. Never disappointed.
Our second visit and well worth the 155 mile drive! The food is excellent. We were originally sat next to a very loud man and his family and the Rob kindly moved us to a quieter table. The food is amazing the team great. We will be returning!
Great food and great staff. I would highly reccomend it.
Delicious food, very attentive and gorgeous staff!
Tasty food, nice new menu, good selection and good friendly service with nice atmosphere.
Food is a little pricey but great that they offered free main for a non veggie during Veganuary
This place is lovely. Food great. Staff great fun and very welcoming. Very warm and comfortable restaurant. Yes it's vegetarian but food so imaginative that non veggies should not rule it out. I love Food for Friends.
My wife has recently become Vegan and I wanted to take her somewhere special for lunch, she loves Brighton so booked here.
We were impressed by the menu, but found the service extremely slow and felt very frustrated as this really let the experience down.
Upon arrival we ordered drinks, bread and crispy tofu from the “nibbles” on the menu.
The drinks arrived, bread arrived but no tofu, which would “be along shortly”. Drinks and bread finished the tofu turned up. Communication is key and it would have helped, but it did not happen. We were told as an after thought that the kitchen was sending a large table.
There were large waits between every course we had and when we ordered the desserts with the recommended drink to accompany each dish, the drinks never materialised in the 20 minutes or so between ordering and the food arriving. The desserts arrived, we waited and no drinks. We asked to cancel these as we had nearly finished our dessert.
The food was wonderful, but the service really let it down and I would look at other restaurants nearby instead which is a shame.
Both food and drinks were absolutly fantastic. Slightly let down by slow service and uninterested staff, but will certainly give it another try because of the brilliant flavours.
Great Service and amazing food. My friend isn't a vegan but came with me anyway. She loved it and would come back again too
Lovely food, lots of layers of flavour. Fairly expensive, we had a voucher which made it better value. The service was excellent throughout. The tables are a little close together.
Friendly mainstay of Brighton’s active vegetarian dining scene, attentive service and great food in a low-key setting. The cauliflower and aubergine miso were both amazing and we were sad not to have room for desert!
Wonderful food with a lovely anniversary treat at the end. A lovely special evening.
The restaurant is quirky clean and well presented. The staff were welcoming and efficient. The food I found disappointing. My son is a vegan and we look for nice places to eat with variety for him. I think the chefs are trying to hard. You promote local sourced food so let it speak for itself. My husband hardly ate any of his and the waitress commented on this he explained that the seeds were crunchy and unpleasant and she replied are you vegetarian he isn't she then said "ah having to suck it up for the vegan". "The vegans" food was bland and watery. Such a shame.
Lovely and relaxed meal, food very high standard and service good
Such a lot of wonderful flavours, haven't had such a delicious meal in ages. Husband is not vegetarian but he was amazed at how good the food was.
An amazing place. Vegetarian food which was so tasty that my meat loving husband is almost converted. Great staff. Can't recommend this place enough.
Original and tasty. Good location. The place is charming and lovely. The food is delicious.
We came for my God-daughters 21st birthday treat, and it was a treat. Her first time eating vegetarian and she loved it. I'm a meat eater too, but this is my 5th visit is the last year as the food is superb. The waiting staff are lovely, friendly and take time over you.
It was a birthday treat and they organised a little candle on her dessert which she loved. It's the attention to detail, the great staff, food and drink, that means this place is constantly busy... long may it continue.
Excellent food, good service, creative menu. Enjoyable evening all round.
I went with my girlfriend with the offer of 'introduce a meat eater and they eat free'. I was the meat eater and have never been to a meat free restaurant before although I am not a complete cannibal.
Menu was very creative and there was plenty of options that took my fancy.
I had the sweet potato / coconut curry and it was absolutely delicious. We also shared some chips and they were very nice too.
Nice atmosphere in there, service was good. For me it was fairly pricey, however with the quality of food you get and the great location I would definitely go back for a special occasion.
I am a vegan so trying to find a nice place to meet a girlfriend for lunch can be challenging. This is the third time I have eaten at this restaurant and although the food is tasty it is always luke warm. Never hot! I'm not sure I will be returning for this reason alone.
Our first time at Food for friends and it won't be our last. Vibrant, fun place to eat with attentive staff and a really creative vegetarian menu. We're planning our next visit.
