Food for Friends
The restaurant caters for people with special dietary needs, there are vegan and gluten-free options for many dishes on the menu, as well as freshly baked vegan and gluten-free breads, cakes and scones every day.
I first went to this place in 1983 or weeks after in opened. I was a though leader.
I now live in Abu Dhabi and recognize F4F as the beating heart of what makes towns like Brighton great. The service is great the food substantial and healthy, good value.
Well done F4F
Went on a Sunday afternoon. Staff were great. The Sunday lunch was a bit small and not particularly special. Lovely gravy though. My friend went for the burger which looked amazing. Will definitely be back but perhaps not for Sunday lunch.
Great food, amazing cocktails, and a good view of the un-socially distanced weekend crowds passing by in The Lanes. Like everyone says, you won't miss meat at all, even if you order the burger.
We had a lovely meal and took advantage of the new outdoor seating. Food and service was excellent
Beautiful food, lovely service.
Such incredible food! I took my omni family and they all loved their meals, my dad even said the gnocchi was the best he has ever had. I would love it if they would franchise around the country.
One of the best meals out I’ve had- every mouthful was delicious!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday evening visit to Food For Friends. The service we received was outstanding and the ambience and food selection was great.
We had the Thai cauliflower for a starter and a bottle of organic rose wine. Our only criticism was that both of our mains were incredibly salty and we struggled to finish them. I think it may have been the vegan Parmesan (in the pesto and on the fries) I know that this is sometimes made using miso which can be very salty so this might explain it!
Nevertheless, the remainder of our experience made up for the mains as I have mentioned the service and general feel of the restaurant was brilliant. Thanks for having us, we will be back!
The food was delicious, out of this world good. Thank you
Fabulous, tasty food and cocktails. Excellent, friendly service
Such a lovely, clean, modern vegetarian restaurant offering tasty food and excellent customer service. It is clear that the owner takes absolute pride in his venue, with service and experience at the focus. Menu is small but food is of good quality and taste.
Crispy cauliflower to start and the affogato is to die for.
Habe already recommended to our friends visiting Brighton. Will definitely be returning!
Really excellent food, service and choice. Rather large portions for us, but you can’t complain about that. Equivalent price to eating out at Wagamamas by the time we have ordered drinks and sides, so that I’d say very good value for such lovely food.
The food was tasty and flavoursome. The service impeccable and very friendly. I have already told all of my friends that’s this is the Vegan place to go to in Brighton. Will come again
Superb food, service and ambience. We would recommend it to others. The fatigued tofu and beetroot & goat cheese starter was delicious as was the vegan first and chips and gnocchi.
Great food and a really nice lunchtime experience. Loved the table right in the window for a good view whilst eating gorgeous food!
Amazing vegetarian and vegan food with perfectly attentive servers.
Always love going to food for friends
Their menu changes fairly often so always have new options ! Couldn't recommended more
Great food, you’d never think it’s vegetarian for those meat lovers.
Ambience different due to Covid but this is their first few weeks, so they deserve like any other hospitality business a chance to put new procedures in place etc.
Attentive staff, little things like topping up the water when it was empty, knowledgable about the menu, allowed us to taste the wine before buying and even given a big table to ourselves, overall a must go to!
Awesome food as always
Good gluten free selection
Excellent food and far above the standard vegetarian and vegan fare in many restaurants and cafes.
Visiting from out of town for anniversary. Everything was great from the decor to the food. Although we aren't vegan, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves especially the atmosphere and meal (gnocchi was amazing and the noodle salad). Also appreciated the anniversary dessert/attentiveness of the server (Becky, I think her name was).
Amazing service and amazing food, loved it! 10 stars
The staff were very polite and professional, food arrived in good time and were very well presented.
My wife had the Noodle Salad and I had Ghocchi with seasonal greens which were delightful.
Atmosphere was peaceful and seating comfortable.
We would happily eat here again.
Great food, great service! Would definitely go back again
We needed a quiet place to have a long leisurely lunch and work meeting and the general manager found us a big table in a private nook. We had a great meeting and ate loads. Don't really want to recommend because too many people will copy the idea :)
Food for friends is a great place to eat for anybody who loves quality food , the mood was set by the soft low level music in the background and accompanied by amazing service , looking forward to visiting again!.
My friend is very fussy and very difficult to please and with this meal at Food for Friends she was very pleased with the service and has not stopped talking about how wonderful her meal was!
Meal was delicious, vibe was great and service impeccable.
Would highly recommend!
Incredible food and staff were lovely. Very clean
Spent a lovely evening at food for friends excellent spacing and adherence to Covid restrictions food service and ambience excellent congratulations to the management and staff
So delicious, so nutritious. Brought my non-veggie parents here and they were blown away
Wonderful service as always and the food is amazing. It's my favourite restaurant.
lovely staff and amazing food Def have the tofu.
The food was all delicious and the service great. However, we felt it was a little overpriced (averaging £8 for a starter and £14 for a main) when everything was veggie/vegan. The panzanella salad in particular was mostly ingredients that required little prep/cooking but was still priced the same as much more complex dishes. The bathrooms were also pretty messy, which is never ideal. Overall we were pleased with the meal though.
Delicious food and excellent service. Unfortunately, the restaurant ran out of hand soap in the toilets and this wasn’t replenished despite making staff aware at the beginning of our meal. We were also seated less than 2 metres away from other diners.
This was my first time in a vegan/veggie restaurant and I was blown away by the amazing flavours! Me and my wife decided it was among our top 5 places we've EVER eaten.
I only remembered I was eating vegan desserts when the girl sat next to us told us it was her girlfriend that makes them and reminded me they were vegan with no dairy etc which was mind blowing considering how creamy the textures were. Highly recommend to anyone, whether you're a vegan or not, you will NOT be disappointed! Everyone was friendly and we gave about a 25% tip as we were so happy with our 5th wedding anniversary lunch.
Really lovely setting, with gorgeous food and great service
First time eating out for a good while and was a bit apprehensive but needn't have worried. Menus can be viewed via the food for friends app and tables were well spaced out. Lovely friendly staff and great food with mostly vegan options which are good enough to please meat eaters. Never had a bad meal here.
One of the most amazing meals I’ve ever had! Would highly recommend eating here.
Lovely pub in a beautiful location with friendly and helpful staff and delicious fish and chips. Perfect for a long, lazy weekend lunch with family or friends.
