Food for Friends
The restaurant caters for people with special dietary needs, there are vegan and gluten-free options for many dishes on the menu, as well as freshly baked vegan and gluten-free breads, cakes and scones every day.
Nice food but small portions
Great food. We visited on a hot day and felt the seating area could be cooler. Will definitely be coming back.
Friendly helpful staff. Efficient service. Good food
We had an excellent evening Friday 7th August. We sat outside the front, atmosphere great, really captured the the energy and chilled vibes of the area. The food was delicious. We are not vegetarian but absolutely considering it given how amazing the menu was. The service was great, our server was really attentive, friendly and helpful. Would definitley recommend a visit when in Brighton.
Delicious food and excellent service - would highly recommend 😃
We came on Wednesday when the restaurant had been very busy all day and unfortunately some options were unavailable. The food was lovely as always but my friend’s was very salty and the chef had been very generous with the salt with mine as well. It was great to see more vegan options now and I really enjoyed the Eton mess which was a real treat. Our waitress was absolutely brilliant!
It was great! there was an error in the kitchen and our order didnt go through for 30 minutes but the manager (i think it was) was lovely and gave us free bread and olives and comped the desserts and the wine! We didnt even mind the delay so that was outstanding!
One of my favourite restaurants in the Brighton area. Always a great meal
Fabulous discounted vegan lunch thanks to Mr Sunak. First time I’ve had banana blossom and amazed by what a good facsimile it provide for traditional fish and chips. Definitely recommend channeling the government subsidy into supporting this marvellous Brighton institution.
Perfect place to eat and to enjoy tasty and filling vegetarian and vegan food. My partner is a meat eater normally and he absolutely loved it too (in particular the stuffed pockets and bao buns). Appreciated the low level noise so we could actually hear each other speak and the chap who served us was very polite and knowledgeable about the food. Excellent and absolutely highly recommended. Starters mains dessert and wine for about £70 so very reasonable indeed. Fab.
Amazing as always ! Such amazing food it’s the best I love it here
Amazing vegan food, highly recommended with great vegan GF options too. Was even better as it was "eat out to help out"
I've been visiting on and off for decades and the food never fails to please! Fantastic place , always great for a special meal with great ambience . Even my non vegan partner loved the exemplary food! Huge portions too.
Really good and interesting vegetarian food drawing on tastes from around the world
I first went to this place in 1983 or weeks after in opened. I was a though leader.
I now live in Abu Dhabi and recognize F4F as the beating heart of what makes towns like Brighton great. The service is great the food substantial and healthy, good value.
Well done F4F
Went on a Sunday afternoon. Staff were great. The Sunday lunch was a bit small and not particularly special. Lovely gravy though. My friend went for the burger which looked amazing. Will definitely be back but perhaps not for Sunday lunch.
Great food, amazing cocktails, and a good view of the un-socially distanced weekend crowds passing by in The Lanes. Like everyone says, you won't miss meat at all, even if you order the burger.
We had a lovely meal and took advantage of the new outdoor seating. Food and service was excellent
Beautiful food, lovely service.
Such incredible food! I took my omni family and they all loved their meals, my dad even said the gnocchi was the best he has ever had. I would love it if they would franchise around the country.
One of the best meals out I’ve had- every mouthful was delicious!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday evening visit to Food For Friends. The service we received was outstanding and the ambience and food selection was great.
We had the Thai cauliflower for a starter and a bottle of organic rose wine. Our only criticism was that both of our mains were incredibly salty and we struggled to finish them. I think it may have been the vegan Parmesan (in the pesto and on the fries) I know that this is sometimes made using miso which can be very salty so this might explain it!
Nevertheless, the remainder of our experience made up for the mains as I have mentioned the service and general feel of the restaurant was brilliant. Thanks for having us, we will be back!
The food was delicious, out of this world good. Thank you
Fabulous, tasty food and cocktails. Excellent, friendly service
Such a lovely, clean, modern vegetarian restaurant offering tasty food and excellent customer service. It is clear that the owner takes absolute pride in his venue, with service and experience at the focus. Menu is small but food is of good quality and taste.
Crispy cauliflower to start and the affogato is to die for.
Habe already recommended to our friends visiting Brighton. Will definitely be returning!
Really excellent food, service and choice. Rather large portions for us, but you can’t complain about that. Equivalent price to eating out at Wagamamas by the time we have ordered drinks and sides, so that I’d say very good value for such lovely food.
The food was tasty and flavoursome. The service impeccable and very friendly. I have already told all of my friends that’s this is the Vegan place to go to in Brighton. Will come again
Superb food, service and ambience. We would recommend it to others. The fatigued tofu and beetroot & goat cheese starter was delicious as was the vegan first and chips and gnocchi.
Great food and a really nice lunchtime experience. Loved the table right in the window for a good view whilst eating gorgeous food!
Amazing vegetarian and vegan food with perfectly attentive servers.
Always love going to food for friends
Their menu changes fairly often so always have new options ! Couldn't recommended more
Great food, you’d never think it’s vegetarian for those meat lovers.
Ambience different due to Covid but this is their first few weeks, so they deserve like any other hospitality business a chance to put new procedures in place etc.
Attentive staff, little things like topping up the water when it was empty, knowledgable about the menu, allowed us to taste the wine before buying and even given a big table to ourselves, overall a must go to!
Awesome food as always
Good gluten free selection
Excellent food and far above the standard vegetarian and vegan fare in many restaurants and cafes.
Visiting from out of town for anniversary. Everything was great from the decor to the food. Although we aren't vegan, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves especially the atmosphere and meal (gnocchi was amazing and the noodle salad). Also appreciated the anniversary dessert/attentiveness of the server (Becky, I think her name was).
Amazing service and amazing food, loved it! 10 stars
The staff were very polite and professional, food arrived in good time and were very well presented.
My wife had the Noodle Salad and I had Ghocchi with seasonal greens which were delightful.
Atmosphere was peaceful and seating comfortable.
We would happily eat here again.
Great food, great service! Would definitely go back again
We needed a quiet place to have a long leisurely lunch and work meeting and the general manager found us a big table in a private nook. We had a great meeting and ate loads. Don't really want to recommend because too many people will copy the idea :)
Food for friends is a great place to eat for anybody who loves quality food , the mood was set by the soft low level music in the background and accompanied by amazing service , looking forward to visiting again!.
